Tonight I tried out the MLG forged Narrows, since I read that they moved the rockets to the bottom bridge (shotgun spawn), hopefully fixing the worst thing about the map. I know this might not be news to anyone else, but they really like the Battle Rifle, huh?

On the map there are four BRs, two snipers, two maulers, and the rockets. I'm pretty sure that's it. Everyone has a BR start, of course.

No shotgun, needler, brute shot, SMGs, spikers, or Assault Riflles. Wouldn't that get kind of boring? As a shitty casual player, one of the things I love about Halo is the rock-paper-scissors of weapons. MLG seem to prefer rocks vs rocks.

but team hardcore pretty much WAS the mlg gametypes in halo 2. and that's why it was popular. i'd guess that 90% of the people above level 20 played mlg customs and at least somewhat followed the tourney scene and 90% of the people above level 30 had been to an event and played with well-known players. and pretty much anyone who got above level 40 was or had been a pro. i mean really i'd guarantee that the reason it was popular was because of the mlg players.

when team hardcore was first introduced, it WAS more or less the mlg '05 gametypes, except for backwash and as the mlg gametypes were updated, the team hardcore gametypes changed with them, except with certain minor inconsistencies. right now you can go play h2 team hardcore and it includes all 11 mlg '07 gametypes with almost all the rules correct, and only 4 gametypes are not mlg, that being koth on middy, warlock, and lockout, and ball on warlock. and the koth gametypes WERE mlg gametypes during the '05 season.

if bungie really was following their halo 2 team hardcore model, they'd base them directly off of the mlg gametypes. and then update according to them. and i think everyone would be happy all around and there'd be less complaining. and i think mlg players already have enough to complain about

Was this sarcasm?
I feel dense today.

Haven't you heard? That's how real folks play.

There are a couple of still-secret, still-in testing adjustments and changes that come to classic Halo vehicles. To say that these changes are the intersection between hysterical and tactical would be a pretty drastic understatement. Other less risque changes coming to vehicles include environment-specific decals being applied to vehicles and certain vehicles have had their weapon systems modified so that they behave differently in multiplayer combat.

So I guess that wasn't what he was talking about when he said this:

http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=88969
As for "vehicle customizations", this is the second time I have been asked this in 24 hours, so he must be talking about something specific I said - to reiterate, I don't think I have ever (consciously) hinted that new or customized vehicles were coming. But Forge is an interesting beast and can certainly contain toys unavailable before. One of those will be revealed on Spike TV this Sunday.

I guess the semi-truck was the "new toy." I suppose we won't see the "environmental decals" and the "hysterical and tactical" changes to "classic Halo vehicles" until Tuesday?

And agreed, Stinkles looked hawt.

"Every game nominated for this category deserved to win."

And so modest! Lolz.

Also, the Grav Lifts looked different.

They looked Larger and able to stick on anything in any direction.
Maybe those were the man-cannons? I wonder if you can specify how far they shoot. Did you see that plasma going around in them? That was sweet.

Yeah, too much to play the game it's intended to be played.

i guess i shouldn't play rocket race then, because that's not the way bungie made it. "the way it's intended to be played"? how the fuck is that the way the game is intended to be played? then why are there custom game options? why did they put forge in?

the beauty of halo WAS that it could be played any way you like, and the game would be fun. if you're a casual player, bam, play it your way; if you're a competitive player, look, you can customize and play your way. but bungie has shown that that flexibility in halo 1 and 2 was basically an accident and they have no clue how they pulled that off. maybe that's because their staff is the size of an army or the people who knew what they were doing left the company, i don't know.

So I caved and bought 500 MS points to complete 800 in anticipation for Tuesday. Why? My friend Dromox's vid being on Bungie Favorites sparked my competitive spirit back into action. Damn you, Dromox. Damn you and your Killimanjaro!

I highly doubt it's drivable. If you didn't see the video, it was just a semi-truck cab being dropped onto a player.

Also, urk is funny.

It's not a vehicle and it's in the Rev vs Blue video.

It goes, "bonk" when it hits something.
The video coming tomorrow or the one from SpikeTV?

It just showed the video after Harold Ryan (very intimidating man for some reason) and Stinkles were on stage.

Wow Stinkles, where'd you get the suit?

Well done, man. And you've constantly said that you don't do well in front of large crowds. Untrue!

Part of your pantheon of lies, no doubt.

Just saw the legendary ending. What?
Yep. You haven't heard the word? 'Halo 4: Dark Planetoid Rising' is en route. It's the fourth installation in Bungie's epic trilogy.

In all seriousness, I have no idea why Bungie attached such lack of closure to their ending which should have capped the series off on its own. I didn't necessarily want every question answered, but I definitely didn't want a massive one looming at the very end. I think the Legendary ending should have been part of an announcement trailer for the title it's leading up to.

Personally, I'm not too hot on the Chief or Cortana being revisited past a meager reference in a future game - I love those two characters and would like to think that their story ended with Halo 3. But my opinion is apparently part of the minority, so I won't belabor it. Maybe there's a good reason, maybe not.

Also, since when are people complaining about getting banned from B.net's forums? That's like freedom road.

I always felt that they were under-moderated. Oh well.

Well, I'm glad that multiplayer is getting a large reboot on Tuesday. It's going to reel me back in.

Stinkles/Luke: Are any of the new map variants being experimented with in BTB user-made? Anyways, the new update was great. Lots of good news.

so does that mean tomorrow if someones health is low enougha nd you smack them they will die 1st and not have that 2 second delay to smack you back before one of you dies?
if so i'm stoked!!!

also, why are there no fire grenades on any of the multiplayer maps?

and think we could not have a sniper on every single map?

Can someone remind me if this is true or if I just read it somewhere on a Forum...If you bought the Halo 3 Collector's Edition or Legendary Edition is the Heroic Map Pack free to you? I can't remember where I read it and if it was legit.
