Question about ranks..
To be an officer, you need 150 EXP or 10 Skill.. but do you need 10 skill on every game mode?

No, you just need to have achieved a ten on any playlist.tahrikmili said:Question about ranks..

It would have been better if he would have actually thought about what music to put on it, rather than just choosing the current flavour of the month.Tieno said:Gametrailers Halo 3 movie contest winner

Very nicely cut and cinematography to the music, especially the Killtasthrophe.
That song is still current flavour of the month? It's not an original music choice, but it's ok.cjelly said:It would have been better if he would have actually thought about what music to put on it, rather than just choosing the current flavour of the month.

Three more EXP and you'll be a Lieutenant.tahrikmili said:I have 67 EXP and a 22 skill in Lone Wolf, but I'm still a Gunnery Sergeant Mk. 2? WTH?![]()

You need a certain EXP too.FFChris said:That's odd, I have a 10 in Lone Wolves but I didn't get promoted up to an officer on my last promotion. Hell, even the 10 button is lit up on the badges section!
GhaleonEB said:Not all of it is useful - the only stuff I've found effective is the Deployable Cover, Bubble Shield, Regenerator, Trip Mine and now Invincibility. All the others seemed to be made with either MP in mind or for enemies to use against me. (And does ANYONE find the portable turret useful?)
We played a handful of Team Slayer matches on Jodrell Bank with each side’s Warthog tearing around causing incredible loss of life unless the Spartan Laser resting at the middle of the map or either base-side Rocket Launchers were acquired and used to their fullest. There’s a number of ranged weapons available and the usual compliment of short range weapons for interior base conflicts.
The mode that was far and away the biggest hit on Jodrell Bank was Multi Flag CTF, Cotton and I were talking about Multi Flag on Jodrell Bank after the event and it, more than Multi Flag and Valhalla or even Multi Flag on Coagulation in Halo 2 reminded both of us of Multi Flag CTF on Blood Gulch (my preferred CTF Blood Gulch was Warthogs only, Flag at Home to Score CTF Classic). Does that mean Jodrell Bank is a remake of Blood Gulch or Coag? Absolutely not, in fact it isn’t anything like it aesthetically, but in terms of the engagement distances, it feels like Blood Gulch.
In Halo: Combat Evolved a decent pistol could control half of the map, while there’s no weapon like the pistol in Halo 3, a good battle rifle can similarly control half of the map here, it’s a functional similarity while being a completely different experience. Jodrell Bank’s smaller size and the Battle Rifle’s non-pistol-esque range is what limits that engagement distance. The bases on Jodrell bank are different from the Blood Gulch bases as well – they are more labyrinth-y with more slippery spots to camp with a Shotgun and wait for unassuming fools to stumble into your boomstick.
bungie weekly update said:on Monday (November 19) folks are definitely going to want to check back in here at Bungie.net and keep faces pressed to their monitors like children breathing on school bus windows in November, because there will be news. Oh yes, there will be news.

GhaleonEB said:I'm guessing some classic Halo 1 or 2 maps will be in the mix (Sidewinder).
I don't even like that map. Just a hunch. Probably wrong.Drewsy said:Is there any reason you'd think this? Or is it just blind hope?

I think one of the Updates stealthily hinted at some remakes in the mix at one point.
ToyMachine228 said:My suggestion about Team Hardcore's implementation...Rework the Team Tactical playlist. I'd be interested in seeing what percentage of Halo 3's community is playing Team Tactical in comparison to the other playlists. I think if Bungie mixed that playlist up with Elimination, Hardcore, and SWAT gametypes it would definitely pull in that competitive MLG type crowd.
Yeah, that was the line, thanks. I couldn't remember it exactly. Sidewinder seems to be near the top of most remake request lists, and we know there's a couple of big vehicle maps in the mix, which is why I was guessing that.sixthsubset said:you mean the one that said something like "two of the maps will send an explosion throughout the halo community"?
i think the only thing that could do that is remakes.
sixthsubset said:if they wanted to pull in the mlg crowd they'd just wait until the mlg gametypes and forged maps come out and rip the them directly.

please fix melee. please fix melee. please fix melee.
That's exactly where I'm at. I played ~16 games or so and it was starting to get frustration, and it sounded like DLC was close. So, I went back to Campaign until we heard anything concrete. I'm sure they're doing something with it.ToyMachine228 said:AND THAT. That is actually my biggest concern. More so than DLC. New maps are good regardless, it adds variety and a reason to come back and play a little more often. The melee situation for the most part is a reason why I'm avoiding playing the game TOO much. It's frustrating and I don't want to cross the line between frustration and fun. It's not that I'm a bitch and can't handle it but I don't want to become frustrated with Halo 3 to the point where I don't enjoy it. When the melee is fixed I'll play MUCH more. DLC will bring me back as well of course.

Headlong, Coag, and Waterworks for Halo 2.KevinRo said:Sidewinder is garbo.
If they remake a map, at least ramake Damnation and Chillout. The weapon/power-up placement mixed in with the upgraded physics engine could make for some awesome ffa, teamslayer and 2v2 games.
In-regards to Halo2, ramake Midship, and some of the BTB maps. BTB in Halo3 needs to be ranked with many many more maps. It's kinda sad to see what BTB has become in Halo3. While Halo2 launched with 3 feasibly playable BTB maps, Halo3 launched with 1 over retarded vehicle whoring POS map.
Waterworks did not get near enough love in Halo 2. That map was awesome. And I have many, many fond memories of Assault on Headlong. Another great map.Striker said:Headlong, Coag, and Waterworks for Halo 2.

I loved using the Banshee to fly up to the center structure to snipe.Chinner said:Waterworks was awesome when you had good times and the proper gametype (no slayer!). One of my most favourite habbits was getting the wraith and blocking up the door entrances.
Sometimes he has insider info and sometimes he doesn't, but I can't remember the last time he made a prediction that didn't come true.Hmm. I sort of assumed they'd be OFFERING the DLC on Monday, rather than announcing a download date.
I guess I could be wrong there.![]()
tahrikmili said:That's it. I quit Halo. 4 of the 6 matches I played in the last hour were Swords games. Something's fucked up once again, and I won't wait for them to fix it. Their matchmaking lists blow big time. Sorry Bungie, bye for now.
EDIT: Make that 5 in 7.

That would surprise me very much - the Bungie guys are going on vacation next week and I'd think at least some of them would want to stick around to monitor the DLC as it rolls out, watch for issues, etc. I'm guessing we'll see the maps and other changes (Luke outlined some changes coming to vehicles, for example) as well as details on the first title update, with a release the week they get back.Cocopjojo said:Sometimes he has insider info and sometimes he doesn't, but I can't remember the last time he made a prediction that didn't come true.
So, DLC on Monday? tmntdance.gif
By people, you mean you? Hardcore was somewhat popular in Halo 2. But Bungie is still making a mistake by making Hardcore and refusing to rank BTB. I don't see why they're doing this. The population is the highest it'll ever be, take chances with the playlists now, while you can.MaX_PL said:people wont be happy with hardcore unless you make it mlg rules v.2
i hope bungie waits and see's what mlg does. dont just listen to kids on your forums.
Of course it will cost money.numbers said:Is the Halo 3 DLC going to be free or will it cost points?
I think I may have to go out and get a points card this weekend.
