As much as I don't like the system, you can kind of get around it by realising that if you know you have lower shields than them you shouldn't go for melee. Unfortunately, I used to use melee for exactly the opposite reason, when I knew I couldn't kill them as quick as they could kill me in a gun battle I'd hope to get an early melee in.

I still prefer the old melee, in other words.

Obviously the vocal minority is the only one that you will hear, or what, do you expect ppl to make threads about how awesome is that Bungie removed host advantage? Obviously not, ppl take things for granted. Is just that host advantage is such a common thing that people do not even bitch about it. Its just opting for the lesser of two evils. In a perfect world without lag, I wouldn't like this system, but I prefer this rather than to give all melee strikes to the host.

dude, hes right....you really like the fact that u hit a guy and he should be dead, he presses b half a second after he should be dead and now you drop dead??

I realize it was implemented to address other problems, and that is greatly appreciated, but the window for the response hit could certainly be closed a great deal...you don't think thats reasonable, even preferable?

I can't count the number of times ive hit a guy with no sheilds in the face.....watched my melee connect, then wait....watch him hit me....and drop dead. That shit s really annoying, I appreciate the attempt, but the fact is that fucking dude should be dead, that gap needs to be shortened.

EDIT: TDG, that is in custom games right, the trip mine is nowhere to be found in reg matchmaking on valhalla right?
 
What annoys me far more than the melee, is if me and another guy both go in for melees, then move out to fire at each other and the guy is constantly starting firing before I do. Totally infuriating.

guess again. mlg doesn't say anything. mlg's not a flock of brainwashed sheep who all think the same things; in fact, they're probably the opposite.

there is a perfect world without lag. it's called lan. i play it. and that's why i don't like this system.

ok how are they mlg? how is mlg saying something when they do? they will never go to an event, and they play matchmaking all day. if you ask one to name the top 4 teams at h2 at vegas they would probably say "uuuuuh... the ogres?"

Doubtful. I tend to think of MLG as a cult worthy of an appearance in a zombie videogame.
 
WOW Bungie are so awesome........We put good connection in the matchmaking option.
and we get match against some guys from Belgium ( we are from Canada) and all off my team are in the yellow ( ping) for all the duration of the game.

You can't really blame Bungie for not knowing where Canada is. It's barely a country.
 
yeh i do wish they fix this melee glitch. it cant be hard to implement considering they made changes to gameplay with halo 2 1.1

While no deals have been concluded yet, Kamins told Variety Magazine that pre-production is in full swing, with Weta Digital and Weta Workshop (both under the watchful eye of Jackson) hard at work on the movie.

Chatter has it that Fox and Universal pulled out after disagreeing over Microsoft's share of profits from the film, Kamins explaining it thusly: "Basically, they said that in order to move forward with the film, the filmmakers had to significantly reduce their deals. They waited until the last minute to have this conversation. Peter and Fran, after speaking with their producing partners and with Microsoft and Bungie, respectfully declined."

Some speculation has also surrounded the role of newbie director Neill Blomkamp on the project, but Kamins was quick to affirm his importance to the project: "Part of what excited Peter and Fran was Neal's vision. We're very confident this film will move forward with the creative partners intact, who will take the film to production."

no. he's just a guy with an opinion. saying he's just going along with what mlg says is wrong because there is no universal mlg opinion about h3. the community is split over how the game should be customized and forged and over what in particular is not conducive to competitive play. there won't be one until the staff releases the gametypes they've been working on and the pros actually start playing seriously

I know it's not likely, but event armor would be awesome. Jack-o-lantern permutation ftw! :D

I cant believe Im now closer to 30 than I am 20. Someone hold me. Not a joke

So what can we expect for halloween Stinkles, or Luke?(if youre still around)

You Americans are really spoiled. Here in Australia Im just as happy to get a yellow ping(in a non-Aussy match) as a green one.

You really dont experience any negative lag effects on yellow ping.

When I was working in Canadaland and was getting paid in Canadaland money, I could buy a Dreamcast game and a street prostitute for what was left over in my change pocket from a daytrip to Seattle. My fucking luck with money sucks so much ass....

Killzone 2 graphically blows Halo 3 out of the water.

I don't appreciate the lighting in Halo 3 because of the shortcuts taken elsewhere to achieve it. Lower resolution, jaggies and framerate issues. It would be nice to have the option to scale it back to bump up those other features.
