Hey I'm looking for one more person for some co-op. Right now! As we speak!

Gamertag: carpal.

Join up or just add me for future games.

So for those of you who are stuck playing Tsavo Highway on legendary solo... just a little advice.

When you defend the base the first 2 parts are not THAT difficult. Not much to offer here it's just you vs. brutes. I would recommend firing of a clip of the alien rocket launcher thingie to the spot where the brutes all land.

The part I REALLY had a problem with is the third part. That's when the tank rolls out along with another wave of brutes. The key here, as I accidentally found out, is to take out the tank sooner than later. Don't leave it for last. If you fire off 2 clips of the rocket launcher(you should be saving all the ammo for that as you go along, pick one up from a brute chieftan, get all the ammo you can) at it it should go down. Then you will get another checkpoint and the pelican will fly in. I tried taking out everyone else first and then going for the tank, it's possible, but chances are the tank will get you before you can jump on it.

I must of spent 30-50 minutes on that part, it seemed a lot longer. Just remember, take out the tank first, that's the key! It was hard, but still not Halo:CE on legendary hard :D The rest of the level is cake, I must of died less than 10 times in other spots. The whole level took just under 2 hours.

There's a sniper rifle with about 2 dozen bullets if you run back towards where you came from...it's on top of a fort. I picked them off one by one by aiming at the machine gunner on the tank. The brutes are dumb enough to climb one by one in there to take a fallen's place.

Finally solved my Internet problems and played three solid hours of multiplayer. Went on a hardcore winning streak now that my connection is solid. 20+ kill games of Slayer left and right. Got two Overkills, a Kill Frenzy and finally got my Lieutenant.

Something that's bothering me though...Why is the Overshield such a piece of shit now? They improved Invisibilty ten fold, but made the Overshield pretty awful. It doesn't even really give an advantage anymore.

Yeah I noticed the overshield is only like one more bar now, seems dumb since it still pinpoints you above all other players as the one to focus on.

i am so sick of oddball online

these guys don't know how to play. suppose player A has the oddball and had like 20 seconds left.

Player B is chasing Player A.

Player C is chasing Player B.

It is in Player C's best interest to let Player B kill Player A, then Player C can kill Player B, and get the oddball.

BUT NO. These douchebags kill the first thing they see instead of playing with strategy.

2 dozen????? I only got 8 :lol

Also there's no turret as far as I know on legendary.

You are LITERALLY indestructible the second you pick it up. The strategy isn't to use it, it's to lurk, pounce and fight.

Had the same problem myself. (It's even worse when we're on the complete opposite side of the map and some idiot goes out of his way to pursue me instead of the guy with the ball.) Can't say I'm surprised given that most people I play with in matchmaking whine for vetoes if something other than slayer comes up.

Construct is so shitty. Probably the worst designed multiplayer map in the entire Halo series. Actually I take that back, Chiron in Halo 1 was - but Construct is the second worst. There's nothing good about it. Everyone camps on the top floor next to the elevator lifts and instantly kill the players who come up it. Boring and ugly looking map too with nothing interesting in it.

Oh and the motion tracker... Why even bother having it enabled on that map? There's like five levels/floors to it and enemies show up on your radar even if they're underneath you. It's stupid.

Same as in the first two games, right?

Also, didn't you answer the questions in the WWU?

When you get hijacked in a vehicle, it seems you are always crouching when you get out, and you have to click the analog stick in to stand up. Is this a glitch, or how you wanted hijacking to work? Thank you for your time!
- was referring to the slight immobility that occurs when you get jacked out of a vehicle. It happens to me, too. I assumed you guys implemented it to keep players from immediately rejacking a vehicle that they've been kicked out of it. I've only jacked a Ghost, so that's all I can speak for, but it's definately there. And I seem to recall being in a crouch position like this guy spoke of. I think the guy probably mistook the immobility wear-off as being fixed by himself hitting the crouch button.

Your response to the guy made it seem like you weren't familiar with what he was talking about. Do you know about the effect I'm describing? Like you said, it is weird. But I figured it was something you guys did on purpose.

What?!?!!? I love Construct. Fights take place pretty much everywhere whenever I play it and I think the waterfall backdrop is beautiful. Plus, the motion tracker adds to the tension and- whenever a dot stays still close enough to a lift- warns you to inc. enemies.

Here's a tip. Construct has this marvelous thing called ramps. Use them.

Also, learn to chuck plasma grenades into the lifts. it is so cool to watch it stop in midair and then shoot straight up. And occasionally a 'You stuck so and so' appears on your screen.

It happens to me too. Like the player is dizzy/confused and can't move.

so uh

how do you get to a skill level of 10

i never understood that :(
That's the number next to your name in a ranked playlist. When you win a game in that playlist, you get experience, which goes towards increasing that number. At earlier levels, it will usually increase for every game you win, but at later levels, it will take multiple wins to increase it to the next number.

Damn Alien 3 has some great music.

Anyway just watched the cinematics with commentary for Halo 1 and Halo 2 from the legendary edition, and it was a great watch. There were so many fascinating moments I missed in Halo 2 that I got to see for the first time. That game gets shit on way to much. I think it has the best story of the three despite the abrupt finale.

So yay for the underrated Alien 3 score and the underrated Halo 2 story.

Man I've been gettin' some pretty awful messages from a couple of Brits who apparently didn't appreciate my video. Finally had to block communications, they were calling me a fucking Yankee prick, etc. :lol One guy wanted me to play his pro friend, and I go and look at his stats and he's got like a .60 K/D ratio...first douchebags I've encountered though, so I guess it could be worse, heh.

Achievement whores are ruining Lone Wolves right now :/
The last few matches I've played there has always been at least one person in a Mongoose driving around trying to splatter people.

900/1000 for me.

I'm really not looking forward to jumping into Lone Wolves but I guess I have to if I want the remaining achievements. *sigh* WHY BUNGIE, WHY!?

Ahem, anyways I scored over 110,000 points on The Ark on Wednesday, it was super.

Agreed. Seems like only IW finally got why Achievements for MP games are stupid, so they left them out of COD4.

Honestly, does anyone here gasp in amazement when one of their friends has a lone wolf achievement that you don't? The medal system tracking is more in-depth and rewarding then getting 5 gamerscore points for running someone over in a mongoose. Not that it even matters anymore that you do get some of the harder ones since so many people are just boosting now.

I've never been a fan of FFA, but for people that enjoy this gametype most it must suck major balls that it is being overrun by people just boosting.

Had some hilarious rounds of Infection on Zanzibar tonight. We ORIGINALLY were just hiding in the base, but after a couple rounds we realized that a Warthog with the Gauss Cannon was spawned at the beach.

Needless to say, three of us ended up rampaging all over the map in the 'hog creating a complete zombie massacre :lol :lol :lol

Bungie.net is behind again so I can't link you into the game's stats, but I know my partner on the cannon earned a Killimanjaro medal (Kill 7 opponents within 4 seconds of the previous kill), and a Hell's Janitor medal (Kill 10 zombies in a row as the human without dying), as well as a running riot.

It was hilarious. We just parked ourselves in the water, and would *literally* kill the zombies within about ~1 second of them spawning :lol :lol

I actually welcome the easy kills. Always a bunch of people going "Wanna get achievements?" and the stand in the middle in Snowbound, easy targets for my ghost :D

Played some MP Halo 1 today over LAN, game still stands up really well even to this day. Funniest thing was us missing the melee attack since it does not lunge like in H2 or H3. :lol

Most of the games were played on Beaver creek, and It really made me wish that it was in H3. :( Such an awesome map for 1v1, 2v2, or 4v4.

Shit, I keep getting games with only 3 opponents, it's annoying as hell.

Thats fine, its when you get 2 or 3 people in every fucking match going, "hey you guys wanna go for achievements?". Fucking annoying. I generally dont wear a headset in Lone Wolves so Ive got nothing to say usually. It was great yesterday when someone raised the issue and not a single person responded, then he asked again and some dude was like "I guess you have your answer buddy".

I admit its tempting especially when friends are doing from my friends list. People I play with all the time even - the thing is I dont if Im angry at them for cheating or just jealous because they have them and I dont.

I've decided that I officially hate 99.998% of the player base.

I'd be interested to see how BC plays without the noob combo ruining it.

And yea Eric, I expected it actually, but I had been pleasantly surprised, probably got about 50 messages/FR in all so far, and they had all been positive, but then those 2 broke the streak! But oh well, when we gonna play again, I need my TS rank to go up. :lol

To be honest apart from all the achievement bullshit I havent run into many tools online at all. I dont search for any team based stuff unless Im in a team of friends though, and I played maybe 50 games of H2 in total so I believe you when you say theyre out there.

You are so right! That happened to me today. Player C decided to be a retard and kill me before I got the final blow on Player A. There was 5 seconds on the clock, I only needed 2 more seconds, but noooo!

Well after 300 games played is it just me or was the map selection in Halo 2 a little more fun?

I miss maps like headlong or midship

Construct = wtf ? People just camp/sneek under the gravity lifts and stick you when you go through them. Worst map in the game imo.

Narrows = campers paradise. Doest help that the majority of the time the game is shotty snipers either.

Halo CE still has the best maps. Damnation = GODLIKE!1!!OnE!

I've lost track of this thread so I apologise if this has been posted here or elsewhere:

1UP: For all the super fans: does this mean Bungie won't work on whatever "Halo 4" turns out to be?

Jarrard: Well we are already at work on another Halo game -- I wouldn't call it "Halo 4", but it is based in the Halo Universe and represents a collaboration between Bungie and Peter Jackson. Halo 3 was definitely not the last Bungie Halo game.

Strongly disagree... I think this is the best MP map line-up ever in the series. There's not one map I dislike...

Just throw grenades into the grav lifts before going up... that'll scare them a bit...
