These maps are too big. Swords sucks. People still spawn right behind me(though they did in Halo 2 also).

I hope these things are fixed in the next map pack/update.

They're too big for my little brain to fathom. Are these the numbers the Bungie folks were expecting 4 days after release?

hes right about the spawning issue. i dont like how it will spawn you right in front of an enemy's path, or spawn an enemy right behind you and you have no time to react. that makes me angry.
 
Oh god, I'd forgotten to mention the spawns. Every single person I have played with agrees that the spawns in matchmaking are fucked beyond belief. Consistently, consistently we will have:

-The person we just killed in battle spawn right next to us, killing us immediately
-Will spawn right next to a party member, even though they may be in the midst of a crazy battle
-Will have enemies spawn right behind us, even when we are ALL in the fucking water in High Ground

It is seriously amazingly bad. One of my friends has a bunch of videos of him killing someone, then having them spawn within 20 feet of him to finish him off. I think I have a clip of two enemies spawning behind me when I'm already in the water in High Ground. It works both ways too, I've had enemies spawn literally 5 feet in front of me, or I'll be zoomed in to snipe an enemy and another one will appear literally right in front of him and I'll get a 2x headshot. It's fucking bad. I have no idea why more people aren't talking about it here, whenever we play social everyone is always complaining about it on both sides. I could almost understand the proximity spawns, but if your teammate is in battle, I don't see why it still forces you to spawn next to them, why not at a safe location? Again it works both ways, but it's seriously fucked. Shit needs to get fixed, it's ruining the game online for our whole group. I will say that I have only had brief lag once in matchmaking, props to them on the netcode for that.

I was disagreeing with the other stuff, I haven't had any problems with spawns, but I've only played 5 games.

Yup, I thought they would have fixed it since the Beta, but it seems the bad spawns have just been slightly reduced. I hope there is some sort of fix.

What maps are "too big"? Sandtrap, Valhalla and Last Resort are great for BTB. Though I hope they're creating at least 2-3 more Big Team style maps soon. Halo 2 only had Waterworks, Headlong, and Coagulation in the beginning, then came tons more. I don't get how the maps are too big...

And Frankie never said Guardian was a remake.

Every single one of them is too big. I'll accept Sandtrap, Valhalla, and Last Resort because they are meant to be big, but the ones meant for 2-8 players feel too big, IMO.

Exactly, but it is obvious that Guardian actually is a remake of Lockout. Except it isn't as good.
 
Legendary Weapon of Choice: Battle Rifle

Also, the golden armored Brutes on legendary are truly hard. They're fast, smart and take a ton (of ammo) to defeat. Of course, unless you have the right weapon, which is difficult considering they usually don't come out until their posse has been taken down. That said, I'm really enjoying my run through legendary.

BR and Needler are your friends on Legendary. Needlers take out the Brutes, BR for everything else.

I just remembered: You were the original "Guardian is a Lockout remake" fool. You bitched and moaned in that Famtsu scans thread and went into melodramatic spiels about how Lockout's integrity musn't be ruined by the Great Bungie Satan.

For the legendary achievement, do skulls affect this?
Like can I put on the Grunt Birthday party skull in legendary (headshots make enemy explodes).
 
Basically no one needs Halo 2 anymore. Use your copies as drink coasters. Halo 3 FTW.

Quick MP question: How do I play Rocket Race? Which matchmaking playlists will have that on there? I'm really jonesing for that, but don't have enough ppl on my FL to get a game going that way.

PS: Is there every going to be a Matchmaking section for custom games? It's cool with friends lists and stuff, but it would be cool if there was a social matchmaking playlist for user-made maps and gametypes.
 
I need some more friends to play with...I still haven't had a decent game of Rocket Race. I might be on later today and definitely will be tomorrow (PST) so add me if you need to fill out a roster or want to do some Legendary co-op. GT: MaiPenRai.

Headshotted brutes take exactly 3 hit to take down.
 
match making went down so i joined a friends lobby and we ended up playing 4 player level 8 and 9 legendary co-op, great fun! The last driving bit took us about 40 attempts :lol

I agree with you that the maps are too big for FFA, but that is only because they haven't upped the number of players in a match, (at least I'm hoping that will fix the problem).They said they will eventually. Why not do something crazy and have 16 people running around. That would be some fun chaos.

And if guardian is supposed to be the heir to lockout, they failed. Everything is too spaced out and the action is always not where you are.

Construct is one of my favorite levels, but it's way too easy for someone to grab the sword and just stake out the top of the lifts. I played a game last night where the guy who won did just that. And afterwards he had the audacity and arrogance to say "rape" before he left the post game lobby. Are people that proud of themselves for camping with power weapons? The same thing happens with the gravity hammer in Guardian and Epitaph. I think the gravity hammer needs to be taken out.

Another problem I am having with Halo3 is in multiplayer I think it takes a split second too long to kill people. I shouldn't have to unload a whole assault rifle clip, only to watch the guy I'm shooting run away or turn around and kill me while it takes me 15 seconds to reload. And melee'ing people is a bit too random for me. I'm seriously beginning to wonder if there is any skill involved with that.

So my biggest problem with the game is that most weapons seem to take longer to kill with than they used to, but the power weapons still do the one shot, or one lunge insta-kill. Combine that with how easy your shield can be taken down and I think the game is far from balanced, at least for now.

But for now I'm too busy trying to kill two people at the same time with the spartan laser to worry about balance issues. That is the most ridiculous achievement. And I think the fact that you have to do half of the achievements in FFA is even worse.

Surprisingly, the most fun I've been having is playing through campaign levels, despite the fact that I wasn't overly impressed with the campaign in Halo3 when I first played through. Kind of weird, but true. The campaign is slowly growing on me. I don't think Halo3's campaign dethroned HaloCE's campaign, but it is ten times better than Halo2.

It's kind of easy when the locations of the skulls and the explanations of how to get them are all over the internet. I won't wear the Hayabusa helmet because it's like a fad in Halo3 that I could never be proud of myself for following. I think the people who get 1000 gamerpoints have more to be proud of than having all 12 skulls.

I think only the serious players really have it. Many of my friends who play Halo 3 gave me a blank look when I told them about skulls.

Uh.... what? I was under the impression that you have to pop their shields or helmets off first before you could headshot em?
 
What I don't understand is why Bungie never gave us separate sound options like for Sound Effects, Voice, Music.

I just want more louder oomph for my guns.
 
Is there a way to join random folks for co-op campaign? I want to play but don't have any friends.

Do I have to play multi a bit and ask people if they want to campaign?

I haven't had the extreme issues that others have had with spawning, but I have been spawned in some ridiculous locations.

The worst though is how it decides where to spawn entire teams. I think everyone has experienced this in High Ground, where you'll be fighting people from the beach at the gate, only to have them start spawning in groups behind you in the garage. It makes for some incredibly frustrating games.

I always saw this as a death penalty. If you had put on a little more skills, you wouldn't have died, and would have been able to stop that flag carrier, so man up... or whatever.

I've had some very strange spawns, occasionally giving me an advantage I in no way deserved, though not so many that went against me yet. Though I play mostly team games, which doesn't have the chaos of other modes.
 
The initial spawns in FFA High Ground are terrible. Someone always spawns next to the overshield, and someone always spawns a bit further down the beach where the attacking team spawns in CTF. Explain how that's even close to fair.

Really now...

I've played a lot of games and have yet to run into one where I'm running around looking for a fight. If you're playing with two people, that's your problem right there. All of the maps are great. If anything, there is a lack of big maps. The small-midsize maps are excellent and I commend Bungie.

And honestly, all of you...Guardian is NOT a Lockout remake. Frankie said, numerous times, it was influenced by Lockout, which you can tell if you quit bitching on here and actually played it. It's not exactly like Lockout, it's not meant to be. Valhalla is INFLUENCED by Cogulation/Blood Gulch. That doesn't mean it's a remake. Same thing people.
 
Hey, is there any way to determing who hosts co-op? I'm not the party leader yet I keep getting put as the Master Chief and seem to be hosting a total lagfest :/

The person on the beach does have a mongoose to use. That should help them run away at least.
 
one thing disappointed me....

what happened to seeing the female spartan ? or was I alone in expecting to see her somehow crop up ?

It's just like with Halo2. Log into Bungie.net and edit your profile settings. (create an account and tie it to your gamertag if you haven't already). The option is at the bottom of the 'Profile Information' tab while editing your settings.

First time I've tried legendary with Halo and it's really hard. I'm at the end battle in Siera 117 which is slowly muching my points away. I was sniping from that vintage point, decide to drop lower, seeing as I had cleared a lot of covenant. When I'm down I get hammered by that Brute Chieftain, waiting there for me.

Is Team Gay Subtext going to do the 2 skull, Terminal run tonight?

I'd be up for doing it on Normal just to get it done fast. Then we could go through with Armubaba for the first 4 skulls and Legendary Achievement.
