Beat the game last night. The ending was so satisfying and all of the music in the game was amazing.

Right now I'd have to say my favorite new feature in Halo 3 is saved films+screenshots. I've already maxed out my shots so I'll have to start deleting some. Here's a few favorites:

I wouldn't put it that way. The art was beautiful, but it was definately too much of a change. I found myself immediately thinking "uh, is that... I wonder why they did that?" In future playthroughs I'll be able to appreciate it, but in my first run it was too much of a sudden change and definately distractingly different.
 
Matchmaking was working, then someone (dante) joined my party, then it didn't work. He left, it worked. I had a gold-subscribed guest join my party, and it didn't work again.

Anyone successfully matchmaking with a party?

edit: some random guy on my friends list just joined my party, saying he couldn't play it either. None of us are downloading or uploading shit.

Same problem here, blah seems nothing ever wants to work when it comes to 360/live/whatever.

Need my halos

AH, ok thanks. Now tell me why my Linksys router is always getting moderate NAT when I opened all the ports, enabled DMZ with the static IP, and then disabled the firewall.

For the rest of the night I crouched in the middle of the scarab everytime it was about to blow! Except when I got bored of trying to do the
2 scarab encounter
because we were all laughing too hard I had to go to the restroom!

Then the IWHBYD skull escapade.

You should have come back.

AFAIK I'm not doing anything on the Marketplace at least. Waited about 5 minutes before giving up and playing solo
 
My roommate got me addicted to Live. It's the first time I've played it...and the first time I never gave a damn about the campaign :lol

Team Slayer = God

And Shotty Sniper is SOOOOO corny now. Seems like it gets unanimous vetoes when it comes up.

For some reason it seems to work on my computer, except it's jumpy-ish and it's not on a 32" widescreen being upscaled by a brand new Halo 360...

I AM CRY.

Stupid slow connection. Anyway I just completed it.....noooooooooooooo, was my reaction at first. Its a good thing I'm one of those that stays till the credits are done. Unlike many I mainly got Halo 3 for single player and it didn't disappointed. A lot or people bash the story but I don't care what anyone says I think it has one of the best stories ever for a game. Epic in every way and great stuff. Only thing is I wish the graphics were a bit better. Cant wait until 4 but I would like to see first another game other than that RTS from Bungie.

And I don't know why but Cortana kept reminding me of Tinkerbell.:lol

I spent half hour just directing an 11 second clip on sandtrap, from a big team battle.

I love that level.

Anyone got any awesome movies?
 
Played through the first level on Legendary by myself. Wasn't so bad. Had a couple one shot sniper deaths, but s'cool.

There are really only a couple spots during the game I'm concerned about being overly difficult playing it by myself. And I'm dreading playing Level 8 again... :(

Have you changed your privacy settings back after all the spoiler precautions? I had forgotten too and thought it was a NAT problem.
 
Just saw something very cool in a recorded campaign mission. There was a part where I was fighting a mess of grunts when a few phantoms flew in. I was clearly distracted, and forgot all about the grunts, who I didn't remember seeing again. Did they vanish after their little encounter was done? With the flyby cam, I solved the mystery, following the little guys as they walked all along the back of the area where I was in to stand and wait for the dropship, then joined up with their allies to come to attack in force. Poor guys ended up biting it caught in the splash damage when I took out a brute. Seems almost like a waste of processor time, but was a cool little detail that just shows how much effort went into Halo 3.

Damn, I just realized I could have recorded it and posted in my share. Oh well, it's kind of late in a long file, but next time I give it a gander.

That might have been it, I had a setting for Voice and text to be from friends only. Let's see if that does the trick.

Not to highjack the thread... but just enable/disable upnp forget which setting it needs to be on. But thats what I had to fiddle with to get it working with that router.


Also I noticed some people have little logos next to their names (right side) on the scoreboard while in game... what is that for? Kinda like the bungie.net thing in halo2
 
Ok, I fail at taking pictures...

There's this very hard to see smudge like thing on the disk, it's in a tear-drop shape and it makes my 360 freeze.. like, 5 minutes into reading it :(
 
started and finished the game yesterday and squeezed a few multiplayer matches in (i wasn't that great but i was a lot better than my friend) i won't bother sharing many thoughts since over all i had an amazing experience and i think every level was excellent, even that level you guys seem to hate, i didn't mind it at all.

also, :lol @ stinkles message in the credits.
 
The developer commentaries are awesome. I love stuff like this - Joseph pointing out that you can see the edge of the matte painting in one cutscene and the guys talking about how levels originated and whatnot. This is awesome.

Perfect cast, too.
 
Man, I am so good at Legendary. I just carried Armubaba through Legendary Sierra 117.

It's so hard to be great. My multiplayer K/D so far: 1.32.
The number of games I've played is irrelevent.
