At the very beginning of the Rocket Race game, I went to get on my Mongoose with Havok...

And Frank sidestepped in front of me to get onto what was obviously not his partner's vehicle

And then my subsequent reaction:

:lol

So I've been skull hunting and have found the majority of them including all the gold ones. Has the last silver skull been found or is it still hidden?

I would like to make sweet buttery love to whoever the mission designer was on level six. And here I thought The Storm would be the best level. After the brief mission five, I wasn't expecting six to take me all freaking night.

The way the level builds in a series of mini-crescendos was wonderful. I thought taking out the SAM Wraiths was a big achievement - then the Dawn shows up and drops off THREE tanks. And we needed them vehicular apocalypse.

The ending sequence, with all the Brutes around the large circular area, was a great finale. (Or near-finale - introducing cloaked Brutes, the incendiary grenade and the Mauler all at once was a nice touch.)

The areas clearly have many different ways to approach them. Can't wait to do this one on Legendary.

Loving Campaign so far. :D

Question: If my friend plays the game single player on Normal until the end of the third level. Can he join a game at level 4 on Legendary if I host it on co-op?

No one's been able to find that yet, it's supposed to be somewhere on level 7 though (The Covenant).

I know Tsavo gets all the love, but level six is my favorite.

ok i I just found out that you have to turn on push to talk, i have been talking and thinking push to talk was on default, so how do I change it to push to talk? I can't find how to change it, unless it really is on default and I am going crazy.

the mauler melee is the new noob combo. cant believe bungie included it. i guess its like that though because theres no other way the gun could kill with two shots. first weakens your shield and you either shoot another to kill or melee to kill. i can guarantee everyone will begin to whore this in a few more days/weeks of play.

only push to talk in social matches. ranked and customs are open mic.

Yeah. It's also supposedly not "hidden," like not just sitting somewhere. We're thinking it's triggered by certain actions (or something).

I've already been whoring this like crazy. It's way too overpowered. But until everyone else realizes that, I'm okay with Bungie leaving it like it is. :lol

Good way to put it.

I don't so mind that only two shots kill at close range. Its the instantaneousness of the shot/melee that pisses me off. Soooooo fucking cheap.

I don't think it's too powerful at all. It's my favorite gun... leave it alone :(
It's got zero range, even less then regular shotgun. Just don't run towards it... it's easy to spot in someone's hand with the golden glow it has.

Wait...the dialogue didn't come across clear to me:

Is that halo that appeared inside the arc the one he destroyed in the first game or is it some new halo and the arc is a building complex? I am a bit confused.

The latter...

Something I'm suprised about is Guardian hasn't really struck me like I thought it would. With lockout being my favorite map in halo 2 I figured guardian would be easily my favorite, but its turning out to be narrows or construct.... strange.

Speaking for someone who beat the game on Normal, and now moving to Heroic, it's a totally different game. There isn't really much strategy involved in Normal, just move forward and shoot. On Heroic, I can understand why they say this is the difficulty you should start out at.

So far I just finished
rescuing Sarge
and it was a nerve racking level to say the least. I actually felt like the hunted and not the hunter. I was constantly watching my back, using my binoculars to zoom in on the area for potential snipers (and boy did I not see a few of them before they headshot me). Using cover is a must, also is tricking the enemy sometimes while a sniper shot me, instead of going at him head on, I would shoot on one side, then move over to some new area hidden, and keep shooting.

Anyone playing on Normal is missing a shitload of gameplay.

I solved the game on normal last night, and tonight i decided to give Legendary difficulty a try, and boy was that first level totally different. And one where i died many many times. But! after a while i did finally make it through the level. I don't know how i could do some of the later chapters at this difficulty

Finished the fight. Absolutely loved it. Amazing game. So far my GOTY, and one of my top game experiences. It's rare when one gets giddy with excitement while playing a game. Sure, one enjoys a lot of games, but really very few manage to keep a very wide smile throughout long sequences. Halo 3 did that for me during not a few, but many instances. Levels 3, 7, and 9 were absolutely amazing (though level 7 was the best, imo.) I was also pretty satisfied with the ending. While I think it could've been better (felt a bit short,) it was quite great.

As I mentioned before, I hope Bungie's working on Halo 4, or what will be next in this universe. It'd be too sad to either have the series end just for the sake of ending it, or hand it over to other developers and watch it diminish in quality.

Congrats to the guys at Bungie for a truly fantastic job.

it was sad to see the chief die, but hopefully bungie does something again in the halo universe

:lol Thats great! <3 Bungie

If you really <3 bungie you would have watched the credits all the way through...

holy shit @ legendary mode. Brutes are SOOOOOO much more fun to fight on legendary, they take cover more intelligently, doge your attacks better ( brute did this great spin move to dodge a sticky). Also, you get a ton more grenades, and using all the tools is important. Going to legendary from heroic is like a whole new game sirs.

And Jackal snipers? not halo 2 terrible. Tough, but some changes have made them far more bearable. The eyepiece so you can see them, the delay before they shoot, and the fact that they target arby first is great.

The level of depth in conflicts is breathtaking, the movements, the fients. A low armor brute with a brute shot becomes like fencing, both of you jockying for that money angle. It makes pulling that sticky out of your ass all the more awesome.

I have yet to see my comrades do something realy stupid outside of a warthog, not sure what the reviewers were samoking there.

Halo 3 uses Push To Talk whenever the recipients of your voice (ie. your team) is greater than 3. In a 4v4 game, you'll have open channel voice. Note that 4v4 matches make up the overwhelming majority of our online games. In anything larger, you'll have to use PTT.

Why? Because our voice model does not leave things to chance (as some other games do)--we guarantee voice delivery to a high degree of reliability, and at the same time prevent it from eating all of the bandwidth that the game needs to run smoothly. 4-5 mouth breathers with their mics too close would saturate the voice channel. Our decision was to prioritize reliability and robust game object networking, and you'll have to get used to tapping the D-pad in larger games. (If you're not already aware, you don't need to hold it, the channel will stay open until you're done talking, or around 20 seconds, whichever comes first.)

Holy shit that's awesome...

I just finished on Heroic. Crazy stuff. I loved that it ended with a
warthog
again.

Definitely corrected what was wrong with Halo 2, and it felt like a true sequel to H1.

My only complaint is "The Key". Most god-awful level EVER. Those
projectile-flood dudes
are by far the worst enemy in any Halo.

I've been having some crazy fun in matchmaking... Not feeling Forge so much yet. And my friends never play anything but Infection on The Pit :/

Here's a picture I took seconds before a "Slice n' Dice" medal:

And I am now officially finished with the campaign. Awesome, awesome game.

That means I am now free for some Legendary co-op, Matchmaking, Forge, and everything else of the sort. Sorry about leaving earlier. I actually had disconnected, and shortly afterward decided to to just finish campaign, and enjoy MP with my fellow GAFfers later.

So yeah, I should be free a lot more often, so hit me up with an invite and we'll go from there. Oh, and real men wear pink.

Mauler is the noob combo? Are you shitting me? Quit trying to box people that have it, back pedal and they're fucked , it requires you to be SO close to the person for the shot to actually take your shield away. The human shotgun rapes it.

Just finished "the storm" level. This is awesome. I'm playing on Normal. Yeah. I know. :) But I am really taking time to enjoy it and also leading the fight.

I can't stop getting excited level after level. I will be taking lots of screenshots later.

After working hard to get the Warthog inside the last part of the Ark, my friend and myself were trumped by some unknown cut-scene force.

Before:
r7p4yo.jpg

After:
21euubm.jpg

It launched the Warthog off of the platform :(

I just beat the campaign mode on normal and I just want to say that I am extremely disappointed. The "last boss" was a joke, it ended the same way the first game did, and the ending was lame. None of the cutscenes really caught my attention at all... The only saving grace this game has right now is the fact that almost everyone I know that has a 360 has it so the MP should be interesting for a little while at least, but I wasn't one of the people playing Halo 2 until 3 came out so I don't see myself really playing this game for long either... :(

SOMEONE HEEELLLP :(

I cant get headshot honcho and i know im getting way more than 10 headshots.

"ended the same way the first game did?" Did you even play the first game? Because I remember a distinctly different sequence of events :/

Regardless, it's unfortunate that you didn't enjoy it. Playing on 'normal' certainly didn't help, as the game truly shines on heroic and legendary. I found every moment to be better than the last, with the flow of the plot truly rewarding by the time you witness the game's final moments.

So in the first game you weren't racing out of some exploding place in a Warthog? It's been a long time since I beat it, but I remember the exact same thing happening...

Does anyone know if it's possible to blow up the Phantom in the first level that hovers just above that first river (just after the two Pelicans collide)?

I got Used Car Salesman at the end of The Covenant level (or maybe it was "Halo", I forget).

It's the part right before you get in the
hornet and destroy the two scarabs
. There are a bunch of brutes riding in a Mauler and I had a spartan laser.

I haven't gotten Headshot Honcho either but I think Luke said it requires you to use the sniper rifle.

So I guess no one has any suggestions regarding my Forge issues eh?

I suppose people here are too busy playing MP, and I can't blame them!

I hop onto Forge when I can't play so late at night since I can't talk loud, and sometimes when you're playing you can't just help burst out laughing.

Anyways, anyone having issues logging into Bungie.net? I can tie my account to Forza's official website, and Xbox.com, but Bungie.net doesn't recognize my Live ID... :(

Just finished campaign with co-op. A question
Where was Master Chief during the last cut-scene? Did he Dissappear with Cortana at the end?

Finished on Legendary 4 player coop. Extremely satisfying, just one wild moment after another, and some absolutely amazing battlefields and vista.

I'm looking forward to playing through it more with friends to dig up skulls, go for points, and generally screw around.

Matchmaking and the party system are absolutely top notch, though I still have no particular love affair with the multi in this game, just not my style. Has a really strange, loose, floaty, unpleasant feel. Still, lots of variety in the match types, and fun to screw around with friends.
