Halo 3 seems just awesome fun - but I have to complain a bit about the character-models. Some of them look downright ugly. ;( Other than that, the environments seem nice, and yes, it is still one wonderfully polished experience gameplay-wise.

Back to gaming... :D

I don't know what's going on right now, but I promise they've been uploading instantaneously for me in the past. It's just not working at the moment.

Here's a quote from the Service Record page:

30 of your most recent screenshots will be automatically saved when you take a picture in the game. If you reach more than 30, older screenshots will be deleted when new ones are added.

It's not supposed to have anything to do with uploading to your File Share. I've only ever uploaded two screenshots to my File Share, but I've got almost 13 in my Screenshots Gallery.
 
This chick was there for all 5 hours of waiting last night. The store owners were taking pictures and giving her free shit. It was the best (only) costume there.

Serious? They sound good, but compared to Rainbow Six Vegas its like they're being fired from a hundred meters away instead of right in front of your face - very odd weapon volumes bungie, very odd. Was it drowning out the enemy chatter or something maybe?

The clerk was really cool about it. He said I could keep checking copies until I got one that was ok. My first one had a loose game disk. Second one was ok, 2 disks in place, yay.

Still, this whole scratch thing is a fuck up totalement. 2 other guys were busy opening their CE's at the counter, plastic wraps everywhere.

The co-op isn't "drop in, drop out" like Gears. People have to join you in the lobby (and NOT during a mission).

Bungie done a rubbish job at explaining how this setup works. It says friends and recent players can join your game. WTF does that mean? recent players in your players list? or anyone in the world as long as they connect to your game? kinda pointless if its the former. Anyway I start the game and the privacy changes from open to closed and im still the only one playing campaign.

Check your network settings in the purple blade if none of your friends can't join after you sent them invites. Could be your NAT-settings (Open = good, Strict / Moderate = bad).

There also isn't a list of some kind where random people can see you opened a room, so don't expect them to join either.
 
I'm trying multiplayer for the first time but it says "unable to retrieve information from the server" and won't let me start matchmaking... what's going on here?

Yeah, I suddenly can't access the Marketplace. Stuff is definately going wrong right now. It's probably why our screenshots aren't uploading correctly.

So they are paintings then? I wasn't sure. I mean, it's obvious that they are but I couldn't understand why they'd be there and just assumed they weren't.

Questionz:
Wtf are you supposed to shoot at on the flood for massive damage? They don't seem to have the parasite in their torso anymore. It doesn't really matter as most the time they just disintegrate, I'd just like to know. Is it the dangly tentacle bits?

Also, I ask again. Why the fuck did Gravemind go to the ark? Does anyone know? Did he just feel like offing himself?

Anyways, what do people think of the multiplayer? Goddamn Lone Wolf pumps out oddball/king like all the fucking time, it's almost unplayable. Also Epitaph is a total clusterfuck. I really like Pit though, which is strange as it seemed the worst going in.

yea, I heard that one...also heard one of the grunts yell "LET ME LIVE!!!" which got a chuckle out of me and 2 others who were doing co-op with me online.
 
For the umpteenth time: Yes, Bungie.net and Matchmaking look like they're fucked. But so is My Xbox, which would indicate this is an Xbox Live issue, and not a Bungie issue.

Xbox Live in general seems to be fine, though.

Edit: I take it back, Xbox Live in general is fucked. I can't access shit on XBLA.
 
Picked up my Limited edition two hours ago, and thankfully my discs were in perfect shape and in place. Gotta say that the first level in the single player is gorgeous. The feel and sounds of it are really well done. The lighting and water are also great.
 
*sigh* first game in Matchmaking and I think I was standbyed. Or the host's connection was so bad that it was suspiciously similar to being standbyed. Staring at the black screen/scoreboard for 5 minutes then the other team suddenly having 25 points isn't cool.

Grunt Behaviour in the game = major points for Bungie. As such the over enemy AI itself is awesome, but Grunt behaviour especially is awesome.

I still can't beleive that a Grunt stuck me :(

connections will improve as the system "learns" about your connectivity
 
Ok, I'm having screen tearing while playing 2 player versus on Epitaph. I tried it on Isolation but didn't notice anything as significant as Epitaph.

Anyone else getting this? Look at the top part of the top half. I get it when I spin around in circles.

There's no list for people to search from. You have to invite your friends to your campaign games.

They haven't done a rubbish job of explaining it. It's just Xbox Live. Bring up your friends list. Move one tab to your right. You may not have ever noticed this before, but that's your recent players list. So when it says recent players can join your party, that's who can join. People on that list. I don't know why you would think "anyone in the world" could join when it clearly says "friends and recent players." And it's not pointless if you play with folks in Matchmaking and then decide to play some customs/campaign with them without adding them to your friends list. Create an open party and then they can join.

I think your confusion is resulting from you thinking there's a list of games you can search for campaign. There's not. People from your friends list, recent players list, or people you've invited are the only ones that can join your campaign lobby.
 
I'm only on the second mission but from what I've played, these 2 missions alone KILL anything in Halo 2. great job bungie
 
anybody know what's up with "a player in your party is not allowed to play user-created content?" i can't play downloaded gametypes or save/watch films. my friends can. i'm the only one of them who has bungie pro. any help? sorry if this has been answered before, i'm in a hurry to get back to playing

You would think, but apparently if it freezes during a cut scene, it fucks you in the ass.
 
Just played the first mission and a little bit after that, but...

Holy shit, Heroic is hard. I played through a few levels in Heroic in Halo: CE, so this is killing me. The main problem is ammo - there's just none of it on the first few levels, which is surprising because you never had to think about it in either H1 or 2.

I also played a few minutes of a desert-y vehicle centric level with a friend on co-op... It spawns you way more than I expected, but it was still pretty fun. In the middle of it, we started lagging like crazy and eventually got disconnected.

Can't wait to start multiplayer - I really hope the Mark V is unlocked early in the game.

I've been sportin' the hugest fanboy boner since a out 12:09 last night. Powered off this morning after Finishing the Fight, four player Legendary co-op style. Took about three hours of sleep and started going through on solo, went skull hunting with Falk0r, played some four player campaign scoring on 117, and then went into Matchmaking with a group of eight friends for a little bit. Gonna fire it up again after dinner.

I give it a perfect 7 out of 7.

No way, must be 6/7. No game can be perfect and 7 is a perfect score, you fail as a reviewer and human being.

At my current pace, I'll likely finish by Thursday, so over the weekend I'm looking forward to some multiplayer marathons with all of you except max_pl and that JD_Fox guy who doesn't like Snowbound.

Happened to me too, I don't use parental settings, Bungle broke game.
 
lawl compared to halo 2..........the networking kinda sucks. One of our planned 4 man co op team cant join our games, my other friend can only join once in awhile..great just great.
