Man-up and at least play Heroic with 4 players, jeez...

Ah... fuck! Didn't receive my copy today. But I did get the OEM VGA cable. Gonna test it out in a couple of minutes. Gotta be prepared for tomorrow :)
 
wow, just got through the first 4 levels. its all new to me from here on in. this game is utterly amazing. loving every single second... only complaints... yes the human faces -and- split screen co-op on a widescreen is borked. two huge black bars on ither side. was this the only way to do this? (cuz it kinda sucks)
other than that though. I can see myself going through campaign for ages and ages. oh and I found the iron skull , not too hidden but rad to find one on my first playthrough.

God dammit, Tieno. Thanks, but that thing had like a different setup thing than my router, and it still didn't work doing what it told me to do.

Anyone know how to make a BEFSX41 Linksys router work for live?

I think it's the same as it was with the Beta. Sucked then too. If I wan't a borked aspect ratio, the by god I shall have one. And I totally would, if my TV was able to strecth the VGA signal.
 
Wow. I just finished the game. What a wonderful experience. Can't wait to do this on Co-op.

Note: The rest of my post will have campaign spoilers. Don't read them unless you've completed the game.

The ONLY negative I found with the game was on the eight level, with The Flood. It was the most boring, poorly laid out and repetitive level in the entire game. Not only did every single bloody location look the same, but the enemies were completely boring. Playing on Heroic, the only weapons that did anything to the bastards was the sword and brute shot melee.

Every other level in the campaign had some redeeming gameplay elements to it. But without Human weapons, the only way I got through that level was just piss-bolting my way through it.

But apart from that single level, everything else was so exciting. It was all just wonderful. I loved the end part of the game. Bought back a lot of memories from Halo 1.

Overall, apart from a few lip-sync uglies, achievement bugs (10 Head-shots) and the eight level, this is still the best game on the Xbox to date. Now I can finally play Matchmaking, whoo.

I did not play the beta so I have no clue how it looks but I hope that this will be fixed in a future update. Please Bungie? :)

Another question: Can you play two player co-op over LIVE?
 
People boasting about their completion time of Halo 3 need to give the following too
-Amount of Players
-Difficulty

There are too many ways to play it to generalize it like that.

That one is pretty easy. When the leel start and you gon into the cave turn right and there is a way that leads to the skull.

@Luke:
Am i really supposed to shot those jumping flood at the begining of Floodgate to get the fog skull? That's impossible!
 
Some people say 6 hours, some people say 9 hours.

Surely there can't be that much of a difference between the times. I'll be playing it tomorrow anyway, so I'll see.

See, stuff like this doesn't make much sense. The first three levels in four hours, and others complete the whole game in a couple of hours more. Even on legendary if the above poster is to be believed.

I think there's absolutely justifiable reasons that someone could clock six hours, while someone else clocks 14 hours. If you're a good multiplayer player, you're going to be a good Campaign player, presumably your accuracy will save ammo, your grenades will be more useful, et cetera, it makes total sense that the game time varies.

I just beat the whole game in 6 minutes, 7 player on EZ

I've heard that one of those disc cleaning machines can bypass the scratches if you are impatient on getting it returned.

Ridiculous situation to be in though :(

huh? so you can find it and carry it around with you but can't use it until you go back to the lobby? or can you jump back at any time?

i've found the first two so far, both were really easy, but i haven't figured out how to use them. i thought i pressed every button. the 2nd one i carried it all through the level with me thinking maybe it'd activate at the end or something. nope... can you only use them in co-op?

i looked in the manual and there was nothing about this and i'm afraid to search online.
 
Just picked up my CE, perfect nick. My disc was held in by some foam padding like they used to do with saturn games. I dont see how your disc could fall out if you have that.

edit- my gamertag is rickshaws, add me please!

No, once you find it and get the achievement it is now an option when you press X. I believe you can only use it using meta-game scoring in campaign mode (not 100% on that).

You're probably still doing something wrong. Keep googling port forwarding with Xbox 360 or set up a DMZ for the 360 itself.

ok. i only got one achievement for finding it, so i guess you get the 9 achievements after you activate them all. ok thanks, that clears things up a bit.

2) UPLOAD it manually to your File Share
3) On Bungie.net go to your File Share
4) Click on the Screenie to bring up the Pop Up of it
5) Click on SAVE TO MY GALLERY

IT IS NOW IN YOUR HI-RES SCREENSHOT, AND SERVICE RECORD GALLERY.

It can now be used as your Money Shot on your profile page, JUST LIKE MINE!

I was reading up on the background story of Halo and this caught my eye on the wikipedia-page;

the second mission is pretty weak -- lots of what i disliked about halo 2, with enemy packs just hanging back and letting you dismantle them with the br/carbine. dullish environment too. but tsavo highway should be pretty awesome.

why haven't i got the headshot honcho achievement yet? i've been headshooting practically everyone. has anyone managed to unlock it in campaign? maybe the description is wrong?
 
Just a heads up for people who are used to Gears: don't forget to save before quitting. I lost like 2 hours of playtime twice because I turned off my console without saving since Gears auto saves your game after each checkpoint.
