I was supposed to have two classes this morning...I was actually going to go...But I could hardly sleep between having a cold, and being excited for Halo 3 like a little kid on Christmas eve so I'm not going to class. Showering and getting Halo 3!
 
I wonder if Bill can hook me up with a copy...

thanx, nope got the reg 360 from launch still.

i think i might eventually upgrade to one with HDMI, everyone keeps telling me it will make a difference.

What difference would it make? Unless your TV doesn't accept 1080p through VGA or component (and you HAVE a 1080p TV), I can't see why it would make a difference.
 
10 hours and 18 minutes until the uk launch. Cant wait :D

Also did SDF cause any trouble last night? I heard they were going to go round some of the lines with megaphones and shout spoilers.

I think Luke was drunk and in awe. But atleast they filled the 5th chair on the podcast!!!!

Going to pick up my preorder this morning. The scratched disc thread has me worried about my Collector's Edition though. :( Also, Luke looks to be in a little bit of shock in this pictures with Bill Gates.

Halo games are known for their replay value, single player first (take my time) then co-op (dont need to pay attention to the story or geek out at every little detail).

I think playing a game like this in co-op first-time round would do more harm to it (for me).
 
Looks like I'm a new Halo convert. Tonight was my first ever Halo game. Played with a friend in co-op. After initially not getting into it, thinking the weapons sucked ass and the controls crap. I started to enjoy myself as I got extra weapons and it started to click. Before long my friend and I were having a great time blowing shit up. Past the first two areas and we'll continue later in the week.

My feelings so far are that it feels very much like Metroid Prime. But isn't dull like that game. The graphics are fantastic and the variety in combat is incredible. I honestly never thought I'd say I'd like Halo... Being a previous Microsoft hater and PC FPS exclusive gamer.
 
There's already been more than 1,000,000 Halo 3 multiplayer matches logged online. And almost 400,000 unique Xbox Live players. And the game has been out for 9 hours:lol Showering and going to get mine! See you on the other side!

I checked this morning and it hadn't shipped then, so i was about to phone GAME and bug them about it, but now all is well :D
 
I wanna play Halo co-op with Bill Gates!

After some retail drama I finally got my copy and played a single slayer match with friends before they logged and I went though a good part of the campaign myself. Graphics are amazing.
 
Just finished the game!
It was awesome....but I had a little problem :(

My power want off for like 3 min at the end of chapter 8.
When I restarted my xbox and did continue campagne it brought me back to my last save and quit check point in chapter 5.

So I want back in the menu got back in the campagne menu selected my chapters and checkpoint but when I finished the level it did not gave me my achievement and I did not get my heroic and normal achievement when I finished the game.
 
Oh by the way. Does anyone know if when my friend and I play again we just start from where we got to? And can I play single player without affecting that co-op game we have 'saved'?

I was that way too. I was a hardcore competitive CS player. If it didn't have mouse/kb then it was for newbs. After playing about 4 days straight after the cpl back in 2002 on my brothers box linked to his friends on halo ce, i was hooked. Even though i havent aspired to try out the competitive scene in Halo, the game is still a riot.
 
When I went to pick up my copy at Walmart, little did I know they would soon be bringing out the most wondrous cake I have ever seen... unfortunately I have no cable for my cell phone so I can't get the pics off it. Just imagine a big cake that said "HALO 3" in blue icing in the middle, with the boxart for the regular edition (complete with the 48-hour live trial sticker) in the lower left corner. Pure majesty.





Oh, the game is pretty awesome too. But I just came for the cake...

Ditto on that. Back when Halo came out, I was a HUGE PC fanboy, and anything less than mouse and keyboard just wouldn't do. When my friend showed me Halo at his house, I kept trying to not enjoy it. I would make excuses and swear by the "twitch" shooters that I'd be playing at the time. But after just a few days I was totally hooked. Every weekend we would have LAN parties and I got so drawn into the world of Halo. Now I'm a huge Halo fan, reading the books, following HBO, etc. And I just picked up my legendary edition last night. :D

Holy f'ing shit this game rocks. I didn't get to play nearly as long as I'd hoped last night but I got most of the way through Tsavo Highway on Heroic. The sense of scale, the amount of chaos, the music and sound effects, the graphics (easily best overall looking 360 game I've played), the controls... it's the complete package.

Haters called it Halo 2 HD, I'll call it Halo 1 HD: it's the Halo 2 that should have been. They really nailed what we all wanted.
 
OK I got a question for those who have the Legendary version: are you happy with it, I mean... Did you feel like you got your money's worth? I'm considering upgrading my order to Legendary, but I'm still doubting. Is the extra stuff you get enough to seperate it from the Collector's?
