Info/Speculation On The Pirate Variant Available For Download:

There's no servers up, and none of my mate have got this yet. But a quick look suggests that two large vehicles (Elephants?), with mounted guns and mongeese in the hold ready for deployment, move about on the sand. Each team has one of these vehicles and a territory flag rests in the bay of each one. The objective is for one 'pirate ship' to board the other ship and claim control of the oppositions flag. If a player attempts to walk on the sand, or drive upon it with a mongoose, their shields are depleted to 0. So I guess it's a good idea to 'sail' in close and board as quickly as possible. Looks like it could be very good fun indeed.

Someone later claims that when you hit the sand, missles fly out at you. Either way, this is only the beginning and it's ready just shitting awesome.

This download is the map variant and Bungie already has "Pirate Themed" game types of Infection and Territories. This is just going to be amazing.

Advised: If your in a heavily populated area, ya might wanna listen to this while in line...those SDF idiots are everywhere....

They have an infection variant and I already have these cued for download. They sound fucking fantastic!!

Missiles flying at you when leaving the "ship"? No, that didn't happen to me at least...

But the shark (zombie) is extremely fast and you better watch out for him...

None of that should matter, if they took your money to preorder the legendary then they should have it. Just call and confirm with your EB, they know how many they got and should tell you if they have enough.

Didn't try it for long, since we were only four people and I think you need to be a little more.

But basically it's infecting with the zombie (dubbed a shark) starting in the middle of the map and then the pirates at the ship just need to wait in dispair until the shark comes in with a sword to bite them all.
 
it's out in NZ etc, and from what i've seen people rate the graphics as halo2.5.. oh well. I'll pick mine up after uni class in an hour :D

Yeah that makes sense. They'll sell what they have to people that preorder.

So if someone else is ahead of me in line that hasn't preordered he wouldn't get the last legendary right?

Dammit it's all so confusing.

And my EB has been busy for the last few hours phone wise.

Oh, speaking of game guides, is this one any good? I can't believe I just typed that but for some reason saving $10 by not getting the inferior CE version now has me wanting to waste that and an additional $10 on worthless crap.

You've never done one of these things? They probably will have completely different lines for those with and without preorders and will get the pres done first.

HELL NO! One of my EB clerks actually laughed at a dude when Halo 2 came out and he asked for a limited edition. Like I said, call your EB and check with them

Stupid Europe getting a delayed release :(

At least it's only one day this time...

And my preorder has been sat on "Your order is currently being picked and packed." since 9am last thursday, which is starting to worry me...
