I'll show up at my local Gamestop (Fresh Meadows, Queens) around 11.

Wait...they're doing wristbands? Is that confirmed somewhere? What if my wife is the person waiting in line for the game when they do the wristbands and not me? Will that matter?

Heh. I probably should have preordered at a more local EB in Queens instead of Rockefeller Center. Oh wells.

Just got off the phone with fellow gaffer Snug Rev, and he said that there were people lining up to camp at 1:30pm at a Gamestop here in Grand Rapids, MI. Apparently one dude brought NINE 2 liters of Mt. Dew Gamefuel... presumably all for himself?

There are over 300 preorders at that one particular Gamestop, too. ~175+ expected to show tonight.
 
It's odd that one of the biggest games of this generation is coming out in 7 hours, yet I have heard no talk of Halo on any podcasts. Well except for the Bungie podcast.
 
I'm waiting in line so I don't get one in a mashed box that happened to me with other reorder boxes, I get the one on the bottom that was crushed. I hope it's not bad halo2 I got there an hour before and only waited 35 minutes about after midnight.

That's what I don't understand. That EB had no copies of the game left to hand out after pre-orders. You could walk in and ask them that. Why would you line up at an EB instead of Best Buy or Walmart in that case?

We're getting the game in tomorrow, but got strickt orders not to sell it untill wednesday (EU official release). We've bee told time and again that this will have big repercussions if we do sell it, but to be honest I'm not quite sure what this means. Do we get a fine or something? Is this the same in America?

I kid! Seriously, despite all my complaints about the single player, I'm looking forward to some multiplayer.

a) I doubt the veracity of Legendary stock
b) I can either wait in line before the store starts selling and get home earlier or do the opposite.

Perhaps I've been misinformed but isn't it just a CPU die shrink?

How will that help? The chip MAY run cooler but essentially it's a cost savings move for Microsoft so why would you be waiting for that? (unless it comes with a price drop, but I doubt it)

I thought the new 360's with HDMI already had additional cooling?

Better safe than sorry, bra. I'm getting mine ASAP. But nothing ridiculous. I'll get in line around 8:30 and watch RvB on my iPod.
 
does anyone else feel like the coincidence of halo 3's launch and ken burns's 'the war' is kind of bad for halo? in the first place because i'll be spending a bunch of my halo time watching pbs, but also because it's going to be really difficult to take halo's war setting at all seriously?

They are supposed to hold onto them for 48 hours before ignoring the pre-order. But that wouldn't mean anything if they took more than their shipment. I doubt they did, but it wouldn't be that terrible to show up a bit before midnight.

I have not pre-ordered, so I will probably just head to the Wal-Mart in Eastman. I know I will have no trouble finding the game there.

Just wondering, are campaign stats tracked while online only or is your profile updated when you log onto live? I have a strong guess at what the answer is, but hey.
