sorry if this is a little sidetrack but I had to post this.

The focus is clearly (and perhaps deservedly) on Master Chief. That means in the single-player campaign you will be Chief and Chief only. The Arbiter is just a dude with a weird mandible and a cool sword. While keeping players locked in as Master Chief is a wise decision on Bungie's part, it's a shame that the Arbiter's story fades so far into the background

to all this michigan/OSU bickering...atleast Michgan will likely havea new coach next year

while Louisville is bound to put up with Kragthorpe doing the less with the most for atleast another year or two because he is good friends with the AD and was essentially handed the job [we didnt even look for the best coach available]

back on the Halo track, Core is bought CE is paid off...and looks like im at work until midnight...i might just quit if i dont get off early..srsly

Oh really? Perhaps the better coach, but certainly not the better team. Yeah, they're undefeated, but that doesn't make them better.

Hell, they gave up points to ND's offense...that's sad for them.

I had hoped my copy would ship today from GAME since it's been on picked and packed status since thursday, but it didn't. I guess i'll get it wednesday then ;(
 
hell YES! i have scored a free copy off of newegg by cancelling once and then reordering later in the day. at least that is the only way i can figure why they didn't charge me.

You know, back when Halo 2's advertisement campaign was in full swing, they focused on Earth, to the chagrin of many fans who were shocked to learn that much of the single player experience was set off-world, and that Earth really played only a cursory role in the title's main story arc. But this is too much. All the references to Africa. The online comic strip. The whole IRIS ARG. And what do we get? One lonely player on the entire continent! What. The. Fuck.

Ok I just saw some of the CNBC coverage and they showed the voice actors in the sound booths. Was that blonde chick the voice of Cortana? HOly mother she was gorgeous.

EDIT: Ok gorgeous was a bit much. She sure was cute though. Maybe I just have a crush on Cortana...

Also, how do I play Rocket Race? I tried to start a game under Custom Games but it looks like it'll only let friends and recent players join.

Yeah I have class 9-4 and then I work 5-9 don't get home until about 9:45 so...Glad my day is basically being taken up to ease the wait. Only one class and no work tomorrow...Hell yeah!

Oh quick, random thing I just remembered about service tags. You can't use the tag z00. Gave me a message along the lines of "this tag is reserved for ..." something, I can't remember what. Can you any of you bungie folks tell me what this is all about. I know the tags are a extremely minor detail and not that important but I still found it curious.
 
Just got back from the NYC event. It was a madhouse there.
I did meet Frankie, but was not about to whip out the camera, so no pics, sorry.

He was nice, and seemed less of an ego in person than online/on the podcasts :lol :lol.
I asked him what it would take for me to be able to play, and he said 'get in line.' No love for a junior. Really though, it was very crowded.

finish class at 7:30, then I gotta wait :( Gamestop where I reserved is only 10 min away, but I don't think I can wait for the midnight launch :(
 
I am *awful* in multi

I mean godawful, nubtacular, fucking horrible

I'm not touching the campaign until tommorow night when I can play coop with friends (who have taken a few days off, woot)

However, I would not at all mind playing with some sane gaffers in multi tonight (after midnight?)

Any chance I could get some friend invites from people who don't mind playing with a complete tardly noobie? Gamertag is CuteFuzzyBunny

You know the last time I used one of those coupons it was on my Bioshock pre-order which I already had paid off and that was the day it came out. It worked and I had no problems with it. I actually used the money I saved on my Halo 3 pre-order. This might be worth trying to use again on my already paid pre-order of Halo 3 tomorrow.
 
I already have mine (gamertag: hamm3rofgod) and I must say it is amazing.

As my friend said after our first session: this game is ACTUALLY perfect.

In a few hours everyone will have it and it will be glorious! :D
 
I've been trying to enjoy the Halo 2 campaign while I wait for Halo 3 but it's just not possible. I can't fucking stand the Arbiter and his shitty missions, and the lack of an assault rifle in this game is offensive.

I guess I should get around to sending out friend requests to the GAF crew here. That matchup thread is pretty ridiculous, though, and I know some will only be for the first few weeks. I accept only the most strong and enduring of manbabies onto my list!
