I think FutureShop have a 30 days Return Policy.
 
Could someone who owns Halo 3 now please clarify once and for all the deal with Proximity Chat and Push-To-Talk?

As I understand it now (please correct me if this is wrong)...

Proxy Chat
-Only enabled in customs and social playlists
-Disabled in ranked playlists

Push-to-talk
-Completely removed from the game
-In any MP game (whether it be social, ranked, or custom), you no longer have to push a button to talk to your entire team. It's just an open mic all the time now.

TDG, when you call xbox support, you need to be firm with them about getting your console back quickly, especially with the release of Halo 3. My friend's 360 died on the 15th and talked with two supervisors before getting them to agree to overnight him the coffin as well as his fixed/refurbed 360. It is already on the way back and he should be getting it tomorrow. If you aren't firm with them, you are looking at 4 to 6 weeks, which is what happened to another friend of mine recently. I'm so funny, I even get banned funny. But hey, I'm glad it gave you a chuckle.

So, I'm going shopping tomorrow for my new 360. 'Tis an exciting time. It's weird, when my first 360 died, I saw it coming. It was getting visibly worse over time. This time, it just came out of nowhere. On Friday, it showed no signs of anything be wrong. On Saturday, it wouldn't turn on.
 
Well, finally something's starting to look up for me. After the fire of a Myer retail store, the lockdown of the entire area sorrounding the store, after I went over my bandwidth limit, after I lost the recite for my game, and now 12 hours before midnight, FINALLY there's some hope.

The fate of my Legendary edition is uncertain, because nobody is allowed near the EBGames store where I preordered the game from. However, a very kind friend of mine is lending me $100 AUD so I can buy the standard edition of the game. Because EBGames have a 7 day "trial" period, I'll simply return Halo when I pick up my Legendary edition once it's safe to go into town.

I may not get my cat's helm for a while, but at-least I'll be able to play the damn game. In twelve hours and forty minutes, it'll be time to finish the fight. Believe.

WHAT? This can't be true.

How did this happen and I didn't hear about it. I LOVE push-to-talk. I don't want to hear all of the racist-12-year-olds breathing loudly into the mic.

I tend to agree with this, but I play with randoms about 10% of my total playtime.
If I end up playing with a 12 year old racist, its probably my own fault.

I'm pumped they dropped proxy chat though. As I was just goint to mute opposite team, but I hate hearing my teamates getting all riled up by the other team.... especially if the other team is cheating.

Halo 3 Push to talk:

For 4 players on one team and under you do not need to push to talk.
Anymore then 4 and yes you need to hit that Dpad.

Push to talk for FFAs too.

I play with randoms about 75%, so I get them a lot. See, in Halo 2, you likely only hear people talking. In Gears of War, for example, you get to hear everybody's loud, heavy breathing, coughing, nose blowing, sneezing, and whatever the hell else they were doing. Disgusting.

They disabled push-to-talk?!?!?! Hallelujah! Going straight from Gears to the beta was like being neutered. I just stopped trying to play as a team member.

Hopefully the New Orleans Saints start a great journey of their own tomorrow too :lol

I'm glad Halo has been distracting me, cuz my team has me disappointed... least there's LSU, the #1 team in College ball representing Louisiana.
 
12hrs until I can get Halo 3. I wont be going to the midnight launch though... didnt order from EB and I got no drugs to keep me up all night anyway(cough).

Maybe Ill take adv. of the EB return policy and go anyway...
 
Welcome back, TDG. Unofortunately, my launch plans are kind of screwed now and some real life problems have made my hype subside. I hope I feel better tomorrow.
