I'm going to bust my ass tonite and try to complete 3 assignments so I can have lots of H3 time this week.

Wish me luck.

I love my job and get pretty nice benefits so I generally don't need vacation days, I took some for the halo 3 release, which while I thought would give me tons of stick I've took none which I was surprised about. :D

There was a guy in another department who for every big game release was always sick, at the Oblivion (360) release he phoned his boss calling in sick, his boss checked him on Live and he was on Oblivion. :lol

As I understand it, he was fired the next week.

One of two weeks a year we do budget reviews at work and it has to be this week. Bah! Ah well, I'm really jealous of the folks who get to take off on tuesday(or more), lucky bastards! ;-)
 
Guys, guys... I mentioned this early, but on the review thread, so that doesn't count.

My spartan design just screams Tribes Vengeance and I only just realized it an hour ago.


Makes me want a new tribes game :(

I must admit I got into Halo 2 MP late and none of my friends bothered so I never tried or was around any custom gametypes.

There are basically two kinds: honor-rule games you play in Forge, and the Custom Games you setup through the menu systems. While in Forge, you can play games with non-enforced rules (though the game does some things, like track kills). Once you've setup a map, you can then use it as a basis for a more traditional Custom Game - go into the Custom Game options and alter player traits, game types and modifications, etc.

I think of it in layers - alter the map, then apply the game type to that map. Toggle between them until the marriage is sweet and delicious.

That's kind of awesome. Although, when sick, I know I play games in between puking or whatever.

Agreed. I'm in a similar (though not quite as heavy in the workload area) situation and I know that I, personally, wouldn't be able to enjoy the game with that much on my plate.
 
I remember way back where Frankie said it'd be easier to join other people's custom games. He didn't mention a server list, but you could join other people's games. Anyone remember this or know if it got in?

I can't see anything like this I'm afraid, you can obviously join your friends but there isn't anything to join others, the next best thing is the recent players list in the guide, but obviously that's not really satisfactory.

That's what I was figuring, but I would have sworn I remember reading it in one of the updates a long time ago.

They talked about Xbox Live Public back when the game was first shown to 1up, but that feature doesn't seem to have made it.

I had a close call last night - we had a power surge and my 360 red ringed while watching a movie... luckily it switched back on and works fine. *touch wood*

I'm wondering the same thing, hoping for something to find customs, especially with so much forge lovin.
 
so we have had a lot of free time at work and nearly everyday for the last 3 months we have been able to leave early and use benefit time if we wanted

naturally when the 1 day i really want to use this and leave early [i get off at midnight] they start getting bust and it appears i wont be able to

I don't have any classes on MWF till 1:00 and my TR classes end at 3:00, so it's pretty much going to be a straight run-through of campaign with maybe a little multiplayer if I finish with enough time to spare. No need to skip.
 
Shit - keeping up with this thread is like a part-time job! At least they finally stickied it. I have to say that my enthusiasm for H3 dropped a bit after the coolness of the beta wore off. But now that the game is almost here, I'm literally tingling with anticipation.

TDG, when you call xbox support, you need to be firm with them about getting your console back quickly, especially with the release of Halo 3. My friend's 360 died on the 15th and talked with two supervisors before getting them to agree to overnight him the coffin as well as his fixed/refurbed 360. It is already on the way back and he should be getting it tomorrow. If you aren't firm with them, you are looking at 4 to 6 weeks, which is what happened to another friend of mine recently. Best of luck.
