I believe its just holding the bumpers as you enter a game. But that might just be BioShock.
To clear the cache, you use the A button I believe. Each game is different, but that's the most commonly used method.

After I pick up Halo 3, I'm going to play some Halo:CE on the PC for some sweet mods.

My prepared return post said:
AS I WAS SAYING:
Vancouver was very nice. It's a shame, it rained most of the days I was there, so everything was sort of soggy and gloomy most days.
Concerning the idiots in Canada*: I encountered three. One, a screaming woman in a pizza shop, the other a french-sounding person who yelled at me to watch my kid. I have no kids. Also, some guy dumped a bottle of urine on our rental car, but I'll go into that another time.

(*Note: I am by no means saying that everyone in Canada is full of idiots, I'm in fact saying that I met two there. Why would I say something rude about the wonderful country of Canada? It wouldn't make sense. I love Canada. Why would I insult it? It would be like if I showed my love for Ghaleon by making fun of him non-stop, and we all know I would never do any such thing.)

It's true! Canadians are wonderful nice people! ...creepily nice, at times. I got in the elevator at my wonderful hotel, and there was a guy in it who couldn't find the "16" button. When I pointed it out to him, he started thanking me and shaking my hand. When we got to his floor, he thanked me again and told me what a joy it was to meet me. ...strange.

The highlight of the trip was seeing the Sea Otters in the Vancouver aquarium. I'm not going to ramble, but I didn't think it was possible to be cuter than a grunt until I met Nyac, Milo and Tanu.

Anywho, the past month has been glorious. I've found myself with tons of free time, so I've been practicing my Keith Jackson imitation, and watching Flight of the Conchords over and over.

Now that the off-topic stuff is out of the way, let's get down to buisness. I'm too lazy right now to connect my tidbits with words and sentences, so I'll just post them as a big, long, list:

1. I have been reading everything you people have said in the past month. I know all about DoctorWHO's pathetic confessions, The Diabeetus, ButtonBasher's girlfriend carrying NeoGAF signs around Grove City, the pathetic NewEGG attempts, Ghaleon's 16th child being born, and the stupid jaggies shit. Sad, huh? Yes, I feel that GAF is the best way to get my news, so I've been visiting often, the drawback being that I need to actually read the random ramblings from you fools.

2. After my mysterious disappearance, it was nice to see people missing me. That sounds Emo, melodramatic and sort of sad at the same time, but what I mean is that I'm glad to hear that people actually appreciate the random insanity I call "my posts." That said, I do plan on posting on-topic much, much more, because come Tuesday, I'll actually have something to talk about that doesn't involve my dislike for foreigners (Canadians aren't foreign, they are man and womangods). I at times wonder if people think of me as a goofy guy who posts in halo threads, not a Halo fan who posts goofy stuff in Halo threads. It's easy to forget that I spent most of the Beta thread arguing with people about weapon balance, maps and spawns on High Ground vs. Snowbound. I don't mean to sound all serious and internet-drama-creating, I'm just sayin', I'm coming for you fools who dislike Snowbound.

3. I don't want to ramble since this is already a fucking essay, but all of the new stuff is looking great, and the newest ViDOC was AWESOME. It just made me so excited. I do want to mention the commercials for a minute. I have to say, I really liked both of them. A lot of people talked about how the old guy saying "Master Chief" ruined it for them, but I didn't get that. Halo is about you being Master Chief, you being the hero, and I always was called Master Chief by the marines in Halo. I don't see why someone who fought with him would do any different. Actually, the Believe one was the one that was ruined at the end for me. It was really good, and I was a big fan of the music, and surprised that anyone could make a Diorama not seem cheesy, but something about the Chief looking up at the end bothered me. It wasn't act of looking up, there was just something the execution of him looking up that seemed janky and unemotional. The third commercial was pretty awesome. The way the guy talked about the Spiker... good acting and writing.

4. All of you who keep spoiling the fact that there is an ending are jerks. I DIDN'T WANT TO KNOW ANYTHING! NOW I KNOW THAT HALO 3 HAS AN ENDING UNLIKE HALO 2!

5. I'm not going to pretend that I have the self-restraint to go totally dark and avoid GAF and reviews, because I don't. I will say, I may end up taking drastic steps to avoid having things spoiled.

6. That last podcast was hilarious. Frankie was so funny, and Marty is such a god. SUCH. A. GOD.

Anywho, I'm back, and now the real party can start. Finding anything to post about without me there was a struggle, I'm sure, but now I am here. The security blanket is back. Mama is here. I will hold you, but not all of you at the same time. Excellent job with the thread Ghaleon and Don Mattrick.

GREAT JOURNEY TIME!

What now TDG!!!!!
Quebec FTW
What what now? Quebec continues to be one of the best provinces of the best country on the earth. What sort of person would claim otherwise?

Yes, that was the plan. I had so much to say, that I typed it all up in advance during my spare time, adding stuff over the past week.

However, the situation has changed. Yesterday around 8:00 PM, my 360 red-ringed.

And the" what now" was only a little joke because we all knew you where still reading this.
Sucks for your 360.

TDG: welcome back. And ouch, that fucking SUCKS. :(

I updated the OP a bit, and added a "Resources" section to the top. I'm not keeping it up to date with reviews, that's what Tieno's thread and Gamerankings are for, so I just linked to those. Mad props to Tieno for the first reply in this thread, if you haven't been looking, he's added an epic shitton of stuff there.

Welcome TDG! Glad you made it back in time for the Great Journey, even if your 360 didn't. Need a towel?

Btw, Sketch's Saved Pics-to-Comic idea in the BWU? Love it.

Awesome.. stickified.

Guys: Thoughts on this plz.. kthnx

Problem: I have a writing project due tomorrow, a programing project due tuesday, a paper due wednesday, and a math test and programing project due on thursday.

Do I:

1. Pull an all nighter tonight, getting everything done for the week so I can go to the midnight launch tomorrow

2. Work really late tonight, skip all non-essential classes tomorrow and work on homework at every possible moment, only stopping to empty my pee-bucket and buy some snacks at the vending machine.. outcome is same as #1.

3. Work semi-late tonight, go to all classes but work on homework in free time, and work my ass off until we go to the midnight launch and hope I can get the rest of the stuff done between playing halo 3 and sleeping.

4. Work until im tired tonight, go to all classes tomorrow, work late into the night tomorrow night, getting everything done, so when I get my pre-order on tuesday morning I can play Halo 3 as much as I wish.

5. Dont do anything, start taking caffiene via IV at about 8 PM monday night, play halo 3 until I'm hospitalized.

I'm glad to be back. Yes, it does.

Of course, I'm doing what any reasonable person would do. I'm buying another Core unit. Anyone know of a place with a good return policy?

I vote option four. Though, I was in the hospital three times last year and it's really not all that bad....

Take a chance and try to score a used core sytem at Gamestop. I think they're $189.00 USD. Return policy is 7 days for a full refund on any used item. Also you get a 30 day warranty.

Hmm...
Interesting. Anyone know of anywhere with a longer return policy? I just called (toll-free!) 1-800-4-MY-XBOX today, so I'm hoping for a month, which is a pretty unrealistic hope, obviously.

Or any option where you do your work first. Halo will be there next week, your projects will be long gone. :)

Did they dump all the work on you this week or have you been sitting on it for a while?

(and I'm glad I finished University :lol)

Seems like activity dies down when they go up to the top.
It took me a full minute to realize this had been stickied. I kept looking for it, to no avail.

Also, activity died down because the big news right now are the reviews, and there's a seperate thread for those. When the game arrives for us over the next few days, we'll have plenty to talk about.

(My files, let me show you them.)

Hell, I've already got a couple of crazy custom gametypes in mind that I want to build, on Forge variants I've conceptualized. I'm likely to put as much time into watching saved films, taking screens, creating game types and map variants and pouring over stats on bungie.net as I am playing the actual game - or any of the other games I've purchased. I'm still trying to wrap my head around it all.

You'll have more fun playing Halo 3 if you don't have anything super-pressing on your plate.

After you're done with school and have that nice cushy job, you can take vacation days to play the big games. Unless you have a cool boss who institutes a "Work from Home for Halo" day on Tuesday.

Seriously, my boss is logging in to live at 9am and making sure we're all online, playing Halo. :lol

How do custom gametypes work? Like Rocket Baseball for instance.

Is it basically an honour system? If someone goes against the agreed rules they be booted?

I must admit I got into Halo 2 MP late and none of my friends bothered so I never tried or was around any custom gametypes.
