Best HDR? I think none of them played Half-Life 2: Lost Coast then? I still think that's the best HDR ever.

Well, best HDR they have seen. Plus HL2 on the Xbox has never been that good. Orange Box will hopefully redeem that.

did you finally play it?
yeah, 2 hours straight (posted it there) . Its really really fun, didnt really notice slowdown yet though, beside the letdown for the graphical part, its really a well polished and done game. Cant wait to be home later tonight to play some more (8.15pm for me ).
Ive saw the game in many , many store here in paris since friday/saturday

so if you've played the game why do need to wait for other reviews? you've got the damn game, form your own opinion!

I am going to take ALL reviews under the impression that the reviewer will be scoring bearing in mind that this is halo and not *every other game* . if anything else came knocking on their door with this feature set and these graphics and this gameplay it would be 10s across the board (cough* bioshock). I would say the missing 0.5 from all these reviews can be attributed to the need to buck against halo's massive hype.

I've never thought Halo3 comes with this kind of graphics.

One very impressive thing is how fast the loading times are. And considering how awesome the loading screen looks, I would even have minded if they were a bit slower :)

its like all halos.it stores the last level on hd cache, try another level and u will get a long loading screen

I'm going to blame your tv sharpness, since my 720p tv had only about half that in the beta.

the problem is a lot of these reviewers are halo fanboys

and dont get me wrong this game is a very good one but im sure they will ignore some of problems of the single player campaing just because its halo, they did with halo 2 they will do with halo 3

Seems like someone's TV is vastly superior to another

in terms of accurately representing what the game looks like, TAPOUT's off-screen cam shot that miraculously gives the game fullscreen anti-aliasing is almost as bad as his.

expound. That top pic is like 60% of the actual playing screen blown up it seems.

I'll think you'll find most reviews of Halo 2 highlighted the various problems, especially the ending.

if the HDR is better than Colin McRae: DiRT I would be suprised. Pleasantly.
light system is the best hands down, light reflects and blinds you in certain spots with certain weapons, and little things like if a sniper is standing in front of the sun, he becomes harder to spot because of blinding light.

You can't possibly argue that Famitsu reviewers (10/9/9/9) are Halo fanboys, can you???:lol

Stolen from another forum:

TeamXbox (taken back down, however)

Gameplay (9.7):
It’s definitely Halo, but that’s definitely a great thing. The campaign is hands-down the best in the series’ history, and the multiplayer is as addictive as ever. Our only knock is with the difficulty, which wasn’t quite as tough as we had hoped.

Graphics (9.5):
Aside from a few slowdown issues here and there, this is an excellent looking game in both the single- and multiplayer arenas. We particularly loved the HDR lighting, which is the best we’ve seen in a game to date

AUDIO (9.7):
Marty O’Donnell’s score is better than ever, perfect setting the tone for each of the levels while never being too overwhelming. The sound effects are stellar, too, as is the voice work (the battle chatter never gets old).

Longevity (10):
You finally have a reason to stop playing Halo 2 on Xbox Live, as this takes the cake as the most customizable multiplayer game of all time. Throw in Forge and you’ve got the makings of a true addiction.

Innovation (9.8):
From Forge to Saved Films to the Bungie.net integration, this game has something to wow everyone. Best of all, it’s only going to get better with time.

SCORE: 9.7
