My arms are open to everyone.

I'm the same. I don't send people FRs unless they say it's OK on their own accord. :p

Go ahead and send me one, Domino.

(Well, by "everyone", I mean all the familiar faces in this thread.)

If you live in the Los Angeles area and want Halo 3 now, pm me and i can tell you who's selling it now.... I just bought 7 copies for friends today.

Do you truly mean that ? (Same goes for Doodlebug. I'll only send FR if people are opening their arms to me into their buddy list. It's how caring I am. :P )
Send it, my friend. With [heterosexual] arms wide open.

Love note sent.

EDIT: Another love note sent Blu.

I wonder if Microsoft is going to include all these early sales in their "day one" figure. There's going to be a fair number sold over the weekend at this rate.

I don't want to get to in detail. Main thing I should state first is no matter how superior and how much I enjoyed playing Halo 2 multiplayer the single player campaign just seemed too confined for a game which allowed me to have a vast area of killing zone. Halo 3 brings back the open world feel and gives you much more of a thrill ride with all of the new vehicles.

The game's length is short. I think its about the same as the second game with Halo: CE being a bit longer.

The story is presented much better than in Halo 2 and does a good job maintaining a productive role for each of the main players in the game. Still the story isn't the main strong point of the game much like the other two games. While non-Halo fans bash the lack of story I have always found the series to be story to be a backdrop to your physical story experience by controlling the character.

The music is a mixture of Halo: CE and Halo 2 with some new takes and original content seeming to unveil with the game's progression. I do enjoy the lack of adding rock bands to the OST however that wasn't really a negative to the 2nd game, I just prefer fully orchestrated soundtracks to game and film.

The visuals are beautiful. Make no mistake there are some seriously visually awesome parts in the game that will make you stain your HD with man goo. RF Cablers and Halo 2 looks better people GTFO.

Lastly multiplayer sucks. There is no matchmaking. WTF Bungie!?

They will rub it in just like Halo 2.

so who all is contemplating legendary their first time through? i'm a glutton for pain. :D

Nein. That kind of epic win will only be experienced with 3 other partners for an endless night of happiness and bonding.

I just played through the entire campaign mode. Not gonna say anything about it, other than I enjoyed it very very much.

On the multiplayer side, is anyone else able to get into a game right now?

I am. Me and my friend have Tuesday reserved for a Legendary playthough. Legendary is, quite frankly, the only way to play...especially if you want to extend the length of the game.

Played it over my friends house and beat it on Heroic, it was pretty easy, I'd suggest Legendary,

Spoiler ahead

The end was kinda "meh" for me. It never addressed Onix and that arc, sure it's the books and all but. Also where was my massive battle that turned the tide of the war on earth? I wanted to fight in that epic battle were I get captured and all.

This is no joke. I'm bringing my copy back to the store tomorrow morning for a full refund.

You must be kidding...? Right? Or you're an idiot, of course there is matchmaking...not to mention the most extensive suite of multiplayer options ever to grace a console shooter, or any console game. Matchmaking just isnt up totally yet, given that the game isnt SUPPOSED to come out for another couple of days.

would that be genital-to-genital bonding?

if i do heroic first, it will be to rush to the mp side of things without risking spoilers.

Your all just jealous because the overweight old woman at customer service at Wal-Mart won't sell the returned copy to you because of street date.

Best news ever. That's really what made Halo distinct, the alien settings and scenery. Anyone can (and does) make a goddamn corridor shooter. But the outdoors gameplay... oh yes sir. :D

So much aggression here. Relax.

I still don't recommend playing through the game solo on Legendary your first time through. I've been working through my first start-to-finish Legendary tour (since finally getting my own copy of the game, days after some posters here, heh), and you actually miss some fun stuff since you've got to keep your head down.

Heroic is still a good fight, but you can stand up from time to time to see how things are playing out, your Marines will be around longer, and (spoiler)
on Tsavo Highway you can load up a Troop Hog with four Marines armed with Fuel Rod Guns, a Voltron-like maneuver that forms the Ultimate Reaming Machine in the Universe.

Regarding Matchmaking, it'll be on Soon. Nobody's supposed to have the game yet. ;p

One thing I notice is that no one seems blown away. No "OMG" this is the best looking and playing game yet on 360. No going apeshit like what we saw with GOW, Bioshock or even Dead Rising. Makes me wonder what the reviews will be like.

People are discouraged from using hyperbole until after the game's release. It just makes those who haven't been lucky enough to grab a copy early cry.

Great to hear that the campaign has a lot of 'open-space' levels and great vehicle-combat. :)

I don't mind the lenght, honestly, since I predict that the campaign itself is very, very re-playable.

As with the first Museum ad, that was really, really well done. And here I though I had just gotten done updating the OP again. :lol

I would agree. Having testimonials from real actors gives the commercials a really "human" feel and emotion that the diorama, although cool, can't do. As I keep watching it, I like it more and more.
