Don't get me wrong, I really enjoyed the COD4 Beta, but yeah, I have to agree with you one this one. It just doesn't hold a candle when it comes to the balance and gameplay of Halo. It's still an awesome game, and I will definitely play it again and probably pick it up some time down the road, but, once again, it just doesn't compare to Halo in terms of fun, strategy, etc.

It's not trying to be Halo, and I'm not even comparing them, not even close, if anything I feel it's trying to mimic the Socom franchise, and for me it's just way too arcadey for a FPS set in a tactical environment.

But Halo is really just building off of the balance they set up in the last two games while CoD4 is using a whole new system.

I agree, though I've had fun with the game, the spawn system is broken as hell in CoD4 MP.

No they don't.... the game has to go through certification/testing and then be sent off to manufacturing. They don't have much time at all to fix or change things. Gives them a headstart on patches maybe, thats about it.

Someone has a brain in here! I've put in a day and 7 hours into COD, I didn't make these impressions in 5 minutes, heh.

I even brought up some of things I thought were really lame in the COD beta thread and was basically clowned on by the devs, I wouldn't expect a too drastically different game balance wise come release.

Anyways, I've derailed enough, off to bed with me. :lol

I know that by the end of the day come the 25th, I will have played the hell out of Halo. If I get the transfer cable any later than that, my saves and anything else on my Elite, for that matter, will be deleted.

IMO, the COD4 beta was much better than the Halo 3 beta. Then again, the COD4 beta is probably one of the best multiplayer shooters I've ever played, yes, even edging out Halo 2's multiplayer in some areas.

Haven't played multiplayer in Halo 3 yet, though I did fool around a bit in forge. I'm sure it will be great.

Played through the first level twice on Heroic, pretty good start so far. Brutes are still pretty dumb, but the Jackals make up for it. Cutscenes are much improved as well.

heh, I'm gonna be one of those guys skipping out on the LE because of the packaging issues. Not only that, but I prefer games in DVD cases that fit in my DVD rack.

What I want you to know is...I'd pay 400 MS Points for the AV Calibration stuff. Maybe Bungie can make it into an XBLA game where you can run it and do all that calibration stuff? It'd be convenient sitting on the HDD, and useful for non-Halo owners as well. I think it makes a lot of sense, and benefits both Bungie (some extra $$$) and gamers (extremely useful for their 360 experience, even if it is Halo-less).

My 0.02 Cdn...which is pretty much the same as 0.02 US nowadays!
