My Halo Confession:

So, I am not a Halo fan... yet. I rented Halo:CE when it came out and I played it for a few hours. At the time, it definitely didn't seem like it was going to make my list of favorite games ever, but I did enjoy it. I always planned to go back and finish it, but for whatever reason I never did. Obviously, I skipped over Halo 2 and have not paid any attention to Halo 3 whatsoever. In fact, last night was the first time I have ever watched the Halo 3 E3 2006 trailer. GAF, why did I wait so long? What an amazing trailer! I loved the music! After watching that trailer along with the videos for the "Believe" ad campaign my interest in Halo has been sparked again. I finally purchased a copy of Halo, and I have a copy of Halo 2 and Halo 3 on the way next week.

Of course, I won't be playing Halo 3 until I get through the first two games, but I am looking forward to finishing the fight. And I know that you long time Halo fans are thrilled to be so close to finally being able play through the game. With my backlog of games being what it is, and the fact that since Persona 3 came out in August, there has been at least one game being released every week that I plan on purchasing, and that trend looks to continue until almost the end of the year. It may be a while before I am able to get through the entire trilogy. However, when all is said and done, I hope that for all of you, Halo 3 is everything you hoped for it to be and more.

The tone in which he said this to me is what bothers me the most... Not that I didn't already expect the narrative to move in this direction, but regardless of that, it is still a downer when another spoils the story of the year's "biggest consumer event" and in front of several other potential players for that matter.

It's like me spoiling an aspect of the latest Harry Potter book -- you just don't do that.
