The Official Halo 3 Thread

Not really interested about custom games lobby. I have plenty of friends on my list that are going to have Halo 3(like 99%), so I will be playing customs with my buddies. I don't think its needed.
 
As said, I wish there was some kind of way to add your game to a hopper, or to find customs, but I can see some of the reasons why it isn't this way.

A) Can't get great info on the game. When there are 5 MP options you can give the player a ful rundown on the game (gears). But how in gods name are you supposed to search forge variants, player traits,and the billion of game combinations.

B) The thinning. If you get what you want (custom games) it makes what I want less fun (Matchmaking) so I'm glad we got what I want.

C) Server browsers are still just shitty solutions. If they did find some custom game finder I would hope they did it in a more elegant way.
 
I'd say there's alot of Sniper/Shotty matches in the rotation since it's not an actual list. It showed up alot during the Beta at least.
 
You guys are uptight. I don't want to spoil it for myself butI think the whole "Halo 3 sp0ilerz" phase is done. Its been the longest time since I've ran into anything spoiler related. Especially in this thread. If someone wanted to post spoilers they would have done it already..

i can't express how brilliant and worth it it would be to pay like 5000 ms points to have a permanent game lobby for an mlg team or a clan, like a irc channel mixed with an xbc room, it doesn't have to be a dedicated server or anything. let members join it automatically when they sign in and give them permission to boot people, close and open it, select the gametype, and start the match, and have a little message that says "scrim to4 join."

takes alot of the hassle out of having to take friends off your list to send a friend request to some random guy from mlg forums who accepts it like a week later and it turns out he trash talks the entire game anyways...

I'm not ignoring them because of spoilers, I'm ignoring them because I have seen them make multiple idiotic posts.

Don't worry, man. I'm still Halo 3-less as well. I just keep playing Halo 2 to numb the pain.

Am I missing something here? I still cannot join matchmaking, it says "Information could not be retrieved from the Halo 3 server. Matchmaking is not available" I'm based in the UK if that makes any difference. Please take pity on me, I move to uni in a few days and this might be my last and only chance of a few games before I go, I have no idea what the uni network is like and if it will allow me to partake in such leisurely tasks. Saved films and Bungie Favourites work fine for me at the moment too.
 
Hey Luke I just finished listening to the podcast and I have a question about the calibration tool. This may sound stupid, but I play on my computer monitor through VGA and I was wondering if the calibration tool would work for adjusting widescreen computer monitors. Thanks.

or you can just press back before the game starts and you have a green bar next to your name and no one else does.

Hold the back button on the controller as the game is starting. You'll be the first person in the game while everyone else is still a red X

1) if you spawn slightly before everyone else in the game
2) if you can nade/rocket jump
3) if you shoot bullets out a gun like the br or the smg and your ammo counter spazzes out. this is hard to explain but pretty simple. when you fire a br, 3 bullets should be empty immediately on the counter, but if you're not host, it kind of goes crazy. the bullets will go empty then be full then goes up then down for a few seconds
4) you can tell if someone else is host if they leave the game and the game goes to blue screen AND it says "re-establishing connection". non-host players can make the game go to blue screen, but it won't display that message

also, you can tell if you can't do a "nade reload glitch." look it up if you want

I just played the fucking funniest game of Team SWAT on Halo 2 EVAR. All my team members immediately quit, so it was me versus four other guys... And I beat them 27 to 11. Woulda been better if it was 50 to 0, but still, it was awesome. It's really fun to play hunted vs. hunters like that.

Reading this thread is depressing. People are playing the greatest game ever and most of us here are reading with fucking blue balls or some shit. I picked up the 360 keyboard thing today and I see all this Master Chief shit everyone. It's like he was mocking me. I need to start preordering games at unsavory corner spots that aren't scared to break street date.
