I'll start out with a few general things. I was very pleased with the campaign, and as I said, I don't want to spoil the story, but there are a lot of both large and memorable encounters. Some of these occur on the later levels of the game, and some of these levels bear a resemblance to levels from Halo 1. I'm not going to say which ones, but in my opinion this is a really good thing. I actually got a little nostalgic.
I didn't encounter any problems with the AI as I read somewhere else here, but the AI didn't impress me that often either. The most fun I had with the AI was probably when it deployed just the right kind of equipment at the right time, and when it dodged either my chopper or warthog. Oh, and when two grunts came running after me with two armed plasma grenades in their hands, at the same time. Maybe if I play even more, AI "gems" like these will be more apparent?
The graphics? They're nice, really nice. The game as a whole is really atmospheric, and I'm sure most of you have read about the foliage, especially in Sierra 117, so I won't write too much about that, but that level in particular is gorgeous. Now that I think about it, there was a slight pop-in of foliage on Tsawo Highway. Since that level is mostly vehicle based it's understandable, and there's not that much foliage to notice in the first place, but from time to time some would pop in. That's just a minor complaint, thought, maybe you won't even notice. If I were to come up with a somewhat legitimate complaint regarding the graphics, I'd say that ... in a perfect world, it would have a bit more AA. I don't know if it's even technically possible with the stuff happening on screen with a consistent frame rate, but I said in a perfect world, right? Heh.
Difficulty? Four experienced Halo players on normal isn't such a good idea. It was enjoyable, it's not that, it just went by a bit too quick. We wanted more. So when another friend of mine got the game we played through it on legendary. I guess we died a couple of times too many, but it never got frustrating, and I think I'd actually enjoy the added challenge of at least a couple of skulls (of which I have found a meager four :/) on legendary.
In general I'm really happy with the campaign, and unlike Halo 1 and 2, I am 100% sure I'm going to complete it time and time again. I usually don't do that with games, but I guess it's a combination of the fact that I NEED TEH ACHIEVEMENTS!!1 (to get the armor permutations) and campaign scoring, which is really awesome. I've only played it once, but I beat my friends. Bahaha.
Multiplayer? I haven't played any matchmaking, because the last time I checked the playlist server wasn't up and running. Forge is sweet, though. I've made a map variant offor Infection use, and I can't wait to try it out with more friends. The Pit

No, I completely agree, and I even knew going into it. It was just that I had promised one of my friends that we would play Legendary together, so he made me play through Normal with some other friends while we waited. Why normal and not Heroic? I'd read that the encounters would be bigger on Heroic, and I didn't want to ruin those before I played on Legendary.giga said:quoted for new page.
