Vyse The Legend said:Well, Frankie's birthday is 7/7/1977.
First, you take the first set of 7s, like so: 7x7 = 49 Then, divide it by the next 7, which equals 7. Finally, you multiply it by the last 7 again to get 49achievements. Simple.
Mr. Lemming said:It seems like you don't like the level because people don't play in a method that fits your strategy.
The numerous spike grenades made the tunnels a deathtrap for anyone including the shotgun guy. The bases had many entry points to give easy access to anyone hiding in there. Not to mention you can sneak up just as easily on a camper by crouch walking as he can get the jump on you by watching the radar.
Now free for all games had a ton of people who just threw themselves off the cliff into the welcoming breasts of Shotgun Guy, but that means the players suck, not the game. You don't go down the dark depths without expecting Shotgun Guy, and having a reasonable counter (Grenades, Spikers, Power Drainer) for him... the same way you don't go out in the open without a BR/Carbine/Sniper/Beam/Laser and expecting to be attacked by the same.
I swear some people would rather play only on two platforms with a chasm separating the teams, minimal cover, BR start, than with all the features we have now. It would be the BC Trow of Halo.

I really need to finish Persona 3, so that I can replay the Halo games.
Online embargo for reviews is up on the 23rd, but we may see a print review or two before then (though I know EGM at least missed their review deadline). Famitsu, some leaky European mag, OXM should all hit around or before then.EvaPlusMinus said:We'll start seeing reviews around the 23rd, I believe.

A girl!? No way, my friend. My screen name is a Sonic reference I've never dropped! But I completely agree with what you said. I have mentioned that I would always prefer Battle Rifle Start matches, but I do see the logic behind that not necessarily being the optimal starting weapon.EvaPlusMinus said:For some strange reason, I always thought you were of the female gender. ...Just so we're all clear here. I feel as if Halo 3 balanced the weapons in general, but I also feel that knowing weapon placements, and knowing the maps in general, is also a large part of HaloCE/2/3.
DD-11 said:I don't usually agree with you, but your point is valid. I hate radar, in any game type. Radar for friendlies is good, but for enemies it sucks much of the strategy out of the game. I'm pretty sure I heard Luke once say something similar about radars so I think he is playing devil's advocate.
Without a radar, it'd solve so many of those 0-0 deadlock games in ctf. I usually play customs and take the radar off. I suspect you'll do the same.
Kind of a tangent, but I've always liked having radar on for a number of reasons, including the one you mention. It forces you to chose to be slow and stealthy or quick and detectable. And I'm looking forward to the chaos that the Radar Jammer causes.EvaPlusMinus said:And that is when crouching comes into play. It defeats the purpose of the way they made the game, if you cannot adapt to how they set it up. Crouching, weapon placements, spawning, power weapons, etc etc. Learn them and use them to your advantage.
But as you said, you can just play customs if you still feel the same.

Tartarus steps forward to remove it, and Truth stops him, saying "Leave him be."
He then turns toand says: "The Great Journey waits for no one brother, not even you."Mercy
DD-11 said:It's a little better with crouch on a toggle now, but it's still no good. And your logic is flawed, I am able to look at a radar and see where people are coming from. It's not as if it's a hard skill to master looking. I'd just prefer not to.
It's just more interesting when you know someone is near or coming but you have no idea from where. It keeps players on their toes. It also cuts down on grenade spam and camping. Instead of training your sights on the door you know the enemy is coming from, you have to adapt and learn and more open and loose defence, which takes more skill IMO.
EvaPlusMinus said:But as you said, you can just play customs if you still feel the same.
Mr. Lemming said:If you are relying on the motion tracker to determine where players are coming from you are going to get burned by someone crouch walking. Or not moving at all for that matter.
I don't see how a lack of the motion tracker leads to a lack of camping. It just means they watch the doorway instead of the tracker... which makes it even harder for you to penetrate that position since they aren't distracted looking for a faint red blip while you crouch up next to them and rub your gums against their toes like my cat just did to me.
I'll be watching a bunch of them. I think it could seriously improve my game. Time to put the tent away :lolferrex said:You know, one of the things I'm most looking forward to is having some high end films of MLG players (and/or their proteges) playing the games they think are balanced. In Halo 2, I've found such games to be insufferable and uninstructive, generally because I'm too busy ragdolling around from headshots.
But watching some such games from a free perspective should be enlightening. Are the changes really to place a focus on skill? Or do they (knowingly or unknowingly) reduce the decision space to enforce a status quo that they have learned to dominate?
It'll be interesting and instructive.
Wow, I've had that thought before but always had trouble expressing it as a valid comment for argument use. Status quo, indeed.ferrex said:You know, one of the things I'm most looking forward to is having some high end films of MLG players (and/or their proteges) playing the games they think are balanced. This will be interesting. I have a friend who swears he is the best player out of my group of friends just because he PWNS in lockout when we play free for all, but as soon as we play Team Slayer his team will always lose no matter which other players are playing with him. We have tried to explain him he is just a bad team player, but he doesnt want to accept it. The film feature will help us to explain what is wrong with his playing style.ferrex said:You know, one of the things I'm most looking forward to is having some high end films of MLG players (and/or their proteges) playing the games they think are balanced. I hate this things. Its always the famous people who get the best stuff early. If I was in charge I would make a contest to prove who are the most hardcore fans and allow them to play the game early before any spoiled star.... oh wait.Agent Icebeezy said:![]()
