I think that is one of the achievements that can sometimes get glitched, like how the Security helmet would sometimes revert back to locked if you got another achievement after getting it(like I did).

You can get XP in every playlist except for Actionsack, which is 0 XP. Between that, Ranked and Social playlists are only different by the number and rank you can get. Don't know if the Double EXP weekends would allow you to get the achievement(I'm assuming they do), so try the Team Flag playlist and get 10 EXP in that, and see if you get the achievement. If you need help, I can help, but not until sometime after 5 EST.

It's ok, it's really my fault for thinking everyone knew all of the maps needed for the playlists. :lol

Lone Wolves is a playlist that you can get the 10 exp you need/needed in. Probably the easiest one to get(unless you suck like I do at Free for All).

You can also go into Social Slayer without the map packs. Your team may help you get EXP, or they may just quit out entirely. It's like 25/75.

You should probably wait until ODST is out, you get all of the maps from Halo 3, and you get ODST's campaign and Firefight. Plus, the maps might load faster since they are on the disc and not loading from the hard drive(since I notice that it takes a bit longer for DLC maps to load in the menus than ones from the disc, might just be my disc though).
 
ODST comes with two discs. One is ODST's campaign and Firefight mode. The other is essentially Halo 3, but without campaign and with every DLC map and three others on-disc.
 
Saw some of you guys on last night but you always had a full party :( If ever you need another man, hit me up please. I'll make sure to shoot out a message next time as well.

In other news, Sandbox variants SHOULD NOT have AR starts. Also, I obtained the silly hammer achievement. Now I need that perfection, what's the recommendation for map and gametype to grab that? I'm thinking Sandbox because Orbital is full of skinny tunnels that are far too easy to become a victim of spammed grenades. I suspect a few of you 'helped' each other obtain some of these achievements because Eazy and Dax have the same last several achievements in the same order coincidentially :lol

Sandbox, most definitely. Just get 15 kills(would be easy if you go against a bad team in Big Team, or a worse team than yours, and from what I've played with you guys, GAF is really, really good), then hitch a ride behind your base or behind your base on a dune, and wait the game out. Or get into a full party that goes into Big Team and well, you know.

(I got mine on Assembly, and the party was split up, and the people that weren't from my party quit out, so it was pretty easy to get it, that and, well, you know. :lol)
 
Wonder if(or when) Neosho and Entrenched(but it might be too big for 5v5) would be in a Team Flag Double EXP playlist. They seem to be perfect fits for it. Same with Ber Ber, but that would be after(or if) it gets into regular matchmaking.

Hopefully this doesn't turn into Poli-GAF, but Marty has said before that he's probably the most Right-leaning person at Bungie, and that most guys at Bungie are Left-leaning. Good thing they don't put too much politics into their games, if any at all besides Halo 2.

And I'll leave it at that.

No doubt that BTB would be the easiest, I just wasn't sure if they implemented Mystic maps into BTB yet so I appreciate that info. I was playing the Social DLC with randoms....I had the same strategy in mind as you've stated but 5 on 5 with randoms makes it tough haha I have some perfections from a long time ago, alas, they are not on a mythic map, obviously. Thanks for the tip.

I found out the other day you can't get a perfection medal in CTF/Assault so you may want to avoid Social DLC. Damn you Bungie.. so close..so close!

No problem, though I think BTB is the easiest because I mostly only play that, and because if you are completely beating them in a landslide, then most people on the other team quits out.

Not that I complain about that. :lol

Ahh thank you kind sir, I asked people in damn nearly every match before it started and no one knew if you could get it in objective games. I suspected it had to be in a round if it was 1 flag, etc. but wasn't sure about neutral or multi games. Too bad, it's rather easy to kill all the guys that come for your flag.
 
I like how bungie previewed Heretic(midship) with AR starts on Juggernaut. I totally wanted to facepalm :(

I also was wishing to see if someone could jump Pink3.

Remind me sometime to tell you about one of my most memorable matches of Halo 2. It was against the French in matchmaking and lets just say for now that it lasted 2 HOURS. This obviously, was an objective game and before they enforced the rule that limited the length of Sudden Death. They were definitely ass holes but boy did we get the better of them in the end, oh yes.

oh man those were AWESOME times.

playing 1 match of BTB for hours up on hours. jesus that's when halo was really fun :( Nothing like playing Coagulation or Headlong while in a stalemate only to have someone break the lines and either win/lose the game for you.

damn you bungle damn you for ruining my BTB :'(

More importantly, can you just Pink3 from the front? That jump was so sneaky and always messed people up.

god i love midship so much.

I am curious why the platform doesn't move anymore... Technical reasons? Casuals getting bumped off and crying?

Yes, it was on Headlong <3 It was more involved then breaking through the lines though, all kinds of goofy crap occured from hiding the bomb to 'pretending' to be away from their controllers to banshee surfing. It's a funny tale, I'll have to relate it during a BTB search sometime.

haha, i loved banshee surfing with the sniper rifle.

also, putting a man ontop of headlong with rockets was CRUCIAL to headlong. then bungie had to fuck it up and remove the banshee. THANKS BUNGLE.

I hear you bro, although I like many things in Halo 3 more, I had my greatest experiences in 2. I had a regular group of guys I played with that would all just relate stories and jokes while we searched for matches and when the match began, we all had our expertise and worked like a well oiled machine. Those were the Halo glory days! I've played with randoms every damn match I've ever played in Halo 3 and I'm hoping with HaloGAF, I'll have a regular group of fun guys to play with again.

As for your links, Alas, I'm at work and cannot view them at the moment. I'm off in 15 minutes but I go straight to the gym from work, I'll check them out later.

Fuck that, I didn't cheat for any of those achievements and the only reason Dax got them in the same order must have been because he's a stalker and desperately wants to be like me.

I got my first perfection in SWAT on Tundra :lol Don't know how in the world I pulled that off. Easiest way to get it is to play default sandbox and just camp the top of your base with BR or Carbine. If you're a man you get em like this.
