I still cannot geomerge... however, I can never come up with any good ideas in Foundry or the ground porting of Sandbox, so I'm not worrying about it.

If anyone would care to take me by the hand and gently lead me down the path to figuring out how to hammer that sucker down in the next few nights, I'd be grateful.
Try pushing them down with something other than the weight of the prowler.

I feel like there aren't many surprises left, except maybe for Super's holographic aspect that they'll probably save for the final game if they show him like that at all.

I agree, but Bungie always has some tricks up their sleeves for the fanz before they ship a game.
In ODST- There are a bunch of unlockable characters to use in firefight by doing some awesome achievements, that might still be surprise to some people.
This time (August) in 2007 before H3 shipped, I feel like we got a lot more general information about the game that came out in the summer, maybe it was from IRIS. But that was also a new game with a 3 year dev cycle so there was a plethora of information to be shared.

I really was hoping for another ARG for ODST, IRIS made summer of 2007 so interesting and made it seem like there was new interesting information that came out constantly. Hopefully Bungie will do another one for Reach, believe.

I had it surrounded on all sides by "block, huge", plus two on top. Barely an inch visible.

The problem is, without something buried in the sand next to it, the bottom side facing the camera bends out. But I can't push a block under the sand to prop it in because....THAT block needs something on that side...and so on. Gave up after 30 minutes. But if anyone can tutor me, I'm sure you can.

Will...will you teach me, master?

Halo seems to be staking out the September release window, with CoD and Gears duking it out for November. Reach will probably threepeat in September.

It just seems a little un-Microsoft to release two shooters from their biggest IPs so close together, especially with CoD being there as well. Although I can't imagine either of the two being released after Christmas, and they're not going to push either of them back a year. I dunno, this discussion has probably already been had.

That block shouldn't be a problem. I hope I'm understanding your situation correctly, you have all for sides blocked along with the top capped but you're having trouble keeping the sand side in because the object on that side isn't low enough in the sand. If this is the case it seems to me you just need something thinner on that side. Try a double wall, if you need something even thinner put a wedge, long at the base.

You can always send me a message on XBL if you're havin trouble. The real difficult geomerging is when the block needs to be pushed so far that it falls through the map. Only then should you need to spend 30 minutes on a single block.

Can't wait to see what you cook up.

Edit: After spending hours on creating bases for my newest map, I have deleted them and started something totally different. So far I'm digging it, hopefully the map is a keeper.

I will do anything for Forge,

but i won't do that.

The problem is that you are trying to geomerge into 2 surfaces at the same time. i once had to geomerge a Double Box into the ground, a rock, and a tree so what you are trying to do shouldn't be too difficult. If necessary i can go under the floor and place a brace under the sand.

File Share it, i will fix it for you, leaving the frame so you can see how i did it.

I highly doubt they would release a new Gears and Halo game in the same quarter (let alone same year). They like to having one HUGE game from their IPs per year instead of meshing them together. Gears 3 is most likely 2011.

But if Reach does come out in September 10 followed by Gears 3 two months later then the next Xbox will come out in 2011, 100%.

If it's not Reach it'll have to be Bungie's New IP. Go get em, Bungle!

And we won't be playing the 360 real predecessor until at least 20013, quote me.

I was speaking for myself =[

Actually I'm not so bad, definitely nowhere close to a lot of you guys but I do all right when I actually get a green connection.

I finally got my 45 a few months ago, took me ages. I was stuck at Colonel from about February 2008... I got it in Snipers.

You might want to try using something other than the block, huge for your braces. They seem to have softer surfaces than double blocks (place a spawn point near a corner and see what I mean) or the non-stone columns, so that might help you out. Receiver nodes work great for me when doing anything requiring geomerging, as I can easily see what I'm doing and they keep objects in place better than most anything else. Do you save/quit after doing a geomerge or do you let it settle to see if it's placed right? If NOKYARD can't help (which I'm sure he can), feel free to send me a FR.

Wow, dude. That's fucking impressive (only slightly less because the boxes aren't the same color :D). Is that map on your fileshare?

DevinOlsen was part of the latest influx of jniors. His DPM is that of a good H3 player.

Hai everyone. :D

Oh why thank you ;)

Anyone playing tonight? I really haven't played much at all lately, but I wouldn't mind hopping on tonight for a few games.

So are any of the Juniors and recent members of HaloGAF any good at Halo?
A couple of us are good. When I say us, I'm referring to HaloGAF juniors in general, not me, I suck balls despite having like 5000 games and being a brigadier. Le sigh. Oh well, I still have fun and get a couple of nice kills eventually.

Plywood, do you play the MLG playlist and its gametypes? If so, what level are you in that playlist?

Also, DevinOlsen just joined but we've played with him in the past so I know he's good.

I don't know about the rest of them, but I'm the awesomest Halo 3 player evar. I get killionaires all over the place, you'd be amazed.

Hola Juices

I don't remember who said it, but someone was talking about Halo Chastity on the previous page. I saw someone mention this on Twitter a few weeks ago and I checked it out. If they actually get this movie rolling, I think it is going to be pretty badass. They've already got a playwood warthog that is functional (it's got a funky color right now, but thier still working on it.). It looks pretty awesome. http://operationchastity.com/
