Anyone have a 3 month or something they would be willing to trade for services? I'm poor and I can't afford XBL Gold to play halo anymore :'(

I have a few 48hr keys if you want them, it doesn't get you all the playlists but at least it's some Halo.

It's not that being anti-Bungie gets you banned folks. It's the being a jerk and not following the NeoGAF rules part that does.

And really any 1974 references will elude me as I wasn't even born till '85, Frank! :(

So, I jump back in after getting a month of XBL gold, and turns out we need both legendary and mythic map packs to just play Team Slayer now? Sorry but that's freaking ridiculous!

Wish I could get in on this. Why are Xbox 360's so terrible?

When did your box break? You need to fix that shit. Swap it out at Walmart or something. Maybe we'll start a smurf donation drive.

I enjoyed the triumhant BWU. Still, it seems some people are r-eee-ally resistant to the idea that Bungie aren't 'bad' at Halo 3, but actually have a range of ability that probably averages out around that of the "average" player.

I guess it follows that if you spend your days fretting about 50s and off-host BR and perfect set-ups on MLG Pit CTF, you end up believing that everyone shares the same (Halo) values as you, that everyone plays the game the way you do, and that everyone enjoys (or detests) it for the same reasons.

I have friends who are legitimate Gunnery Sergeants, and perfectly happy with that. I am glad Bungie cater to those people too, because they just play and enjoy the game, and rarely complain about anything. They prefer the AR to the BR. They like playing VIP. And they are legion.

The percentage of players who are fifties should tell you everything you need to know.

There is a difference between the term 'average halo player' and the arithmetic mean rank of players.

IMO, you can't constrain the term 'average halo player' to a skill level, rather it should be coined closer to the amount of time someone puts into halo and the halo universe. Look at most of the players on HaloGAF. Most of them consider themselves part of the 'average' consortium of players who pick up this game for multiplayer or even singleplayer, yet most if not all of the users on HaloGAF put more time into playing Halo than even myself. Having a low rank and liking gametypes like VIP because those are the only gametypes you can even come remotely close to winning doesn't mean you are the 'average player', it just means you just suck at the game.

Perhaps you're confusing average Halo player and average Halo "fan".
In HaloGaf we're definitely in the latter.

The average Halo player is exactly the arithmetic mean rank of players. The majority of the ~700,000 that play Halo every day.
I'd say most of regular HaloGaf would consider them an above average player, and far above average fans.

As for the sucking part, then basically what you're saying is the average player sucks.

The random NeoGAF members that come in here and complain about playlists requiring the DLC, now those are the average Halo players. They don't play competitively and they don't play a lot. HaloGAF people are above average. I mean, look at Dax, he's a 45ish (don't know the exact #). Everyone that regularly posts in this thread could put the smackdown on average players.

When are we working customs? After missing bungie day and the past few Saturdays, I will be planted in front of the xbox tonight. Well, that and UFC.

Oh, and LOLOL Through the looking glass

The average player skill is represented by the arithmatic mean, the average player is a lot harder to pin down. Hypothetically if 90% of Halo players stuck to the single player, the average Halo player would not have a trueskill ranking. Non-hypothetically, the average Halo player would refer to such a huge mishmash of tastes that the term is essentially meaningless.

Eh, probably won't make this customs, again.

Is anyone playing customs tonight? I'm on the Halo GAF friends list if anyone starts. I'm really eager to try out the Ivory Tower remake after rekindling my love for Halo 2 during a Bungie Day LAN event with some friends.

In other news, I reached 47 tonight. I hate how second accounters in this game think they are the kings of all Halo because they managed to reach a general rank by exploiting the matchmaking system. Also, which jolly Roger coined the term 'bad kid' or BK in the essence of saving time. It just sounds stupid. Not to mention immature, which is ironic given the implications of the phrase itself.

Give me 20 minutes. I have to finish grubbing my Mozza sticks and brown rice. (Feeling lazy tonight)

Then, of course, I'll need some proper lubrication. :D

In on page that's the same as the year!

I really wanna go home and play halo D: I'll be outta town for a week so I gotta get some good games in today!

Around 9,000 in Lone Wolves, 11,000 in Team Slayer, 8,000 in Team Doubles, and 4,000 in Squad Battle. I just glanced at their population quickly, and felt that was uncommonly low. There is about 261,000 online right now and only, estimate, 32,000 players in those four Ranked categories. I didn't even care to check for the 8 social playlists, but I'm sure there's where majority of them are. -_-

why the fuck is there team splitting in multi team? if i go in with a friend, its kind of understood that i want to play with them, on a team of two, just us, you know, NOT WITH A RANDOM.

hey guys i'm serious about being poor. does anyone have a 1 month? i'm taking a summer class and i need the rest of the little amount of money i have to use towards books for next semester. can anyone help me out here?

Silly question but did you prefer him? It usually won't split in that case.

Those were some great matches tonight guys! Another successful custom game night methinks. It's a shame it was too late for Arnie to join us; maybe next time dude.

I hate to say it, but I'm pretty sure this is an urban myth.
