I like how you can hear him shriek right at the end, as if he were shoved into a dimension of pure pain.

So, I decided I had one last map in me. The first map I made was called Skyline, and while I liked the concept a lot, the map itself sucked pretty hard to play on. Looking back on the pics now is kind of painful. I tried to take as many lessons from that map and make better ones since then. But I still wanted to make a map in the sky bubble. So I've basically built a new map with some of the same core ideas, taking advantage of everything I've learned about making maps since then. Finish up where I started.

This was the view down the length of the old version:

The bases were too far apart, the man cannons too treacherous and there wasn't nearly enough (or any, really) cover for infantry. The "bases" were just a flat platform. A lack of planning and understanding of the importance of the default geometry really hurt it.

The idea was to have a map in the skybubble that was heavy on air vehicles, but with enough rapid transit and cover for infantry. I'm out of budget and had a few more ideas and I *just* decided to nuke one Banshee from each side to free up some budget to flesh out a few areas that are nerfed right now. A transport Hornet and a Banshee on each side will do. But the basics won't change.

I had this vision of plasma, missiles, and long green trails of fuel rods sailing through the air at attacking vehicles, but no lasers. I think it would be too overpowering on a map like this. So there's missile pods, fuel rod guns and plasma turrets, but no laser.

There's a teleporter over on the far right corner of the landing platform that takes you to (and from) the sniper tower off to the side.

You've got to turn and back up a bit to grab the fuel rod on the way to the center. Bubble in the little cubby half way there if you chose to go on foot.

It links over to the sniper towers in from opposing corners as well as the main pathways up the top. I think it's an updgrade from the central "structure" of the old version:

Teleporter is in the lower level, sniper on the middle. The top platform has a great view, but minimal cover.

For CTF, the escape options from the base are: head straight down the ramp and hope you can get to the first tunnel section; head out to the landing platform and escape to the teleporter (think Avalanche); make the clip up to the man cannon and launch to the center (think Valhalla or Avalanche); or get picked up via Hornet.

Not that we need any new maps after Bungie Day, but hopefully we can give it a shot on Saturday customs. I'll have made the needed tweaks by then.

i don't know if it will be one of the great forge maps, or complete crap, either way it is unlike any map i have seen, yet it looks like a 'familiar' Halo map

I thought that when you played a film, the map it used was put in your recent custom maps list. And isn't the film on his file share?

What you don't see because I cut it off was me choking on the Killtacular. Some guy ran up on me and I missed the no scope leading to him beating me down : ( It was a lot of fun pulling that off.

Picked up a 1600 MS points card and renewed my subscription to Bungie Pro. I rendered "Rainin' Goose" in HD, and downloaded it: looks nice. One question: why no option to download in quick time?

I assume it's because of the Silverlight integration. That way they only have to render out one version of the video instead of doubling the time by rendering out QT and WMV.

Wow, you're obsessed with that clip. You threw a sticky at a Mongoose and picked up a lucky splatter. Stop pimping it. Get over it already.

The best Mongoose splatters are ones that land on opposing enemies as they fall off the hills in Valhalla. Friend has a film clip of one, but no Bungie Pro.

you must first watch the film in-game, it is not in his file share - maybe it will make it to the Bungie Blog and they will link it

When in fact H2's gameplay was 100x what H3s will ever be ever even on its best day.

The fact the BR worked so well in H2 allowed setups and map positioning (crossfire) a LOT more important allowing teamwork to be utilized a lot better. What I mean is in H3 a setup isn't that great because your cross map shots aren't going to hit to the effectiveness they did in H2. Not only that but you could have a player blow up because individual skill was also emphasized. Furthermore I don't even wanna hear this AR is better than SMG bullshit because AR is still far less powerful than a team with BR's and its mad annoying spawning with one when the other team has BR control (this happened a lot in that shit playlist a few days ago)

The fact that all things could be completed so fast with quick reloads, reload cancels, doubleshots, bxr's it really allowed those quick creative minds to blow up in really tough moments. Whereas in H3 its like "O I have to reload, well that means I have to wait THISSS long lets hope nothing interesting happens in that time, because this game sucks."



Apparently its Grifball AGAIN. Fuck that give us Instagib.
