Bungie Day Project Time!


The one day of the year we celebrate Halo...


...Besides the other 364 we celebrate by playing of course.

Bungie day, the only day of the year that gives Santa Claus a run for his money, is quickly approaching. Last year we celebrated the magical seven-filled date with a colossal compilation of thank yous that included words, words, and more words. This year it’s all about the image and that wonderful number that follows six and precedes eight.

To be included in this year’s special community article that will be published on 07.07.09, send your contribution (or questions) to hawtymcbloggy [at] gmail [dot] com. Submissions should be of the image or video variety and must somehow include the number seven. Maybe you can create a gorgeous piece of Forge art crafting the number seven out of a variety of weapons. Maybe you can send a link to a short YouTube clip featuring your first Killimanjaro. Maybe you can open up your Paint program and draw something Mister Chief-ish. Maybe you can prove your Photoshop prowess with an image that is simply beyond stunning. The only requirement is that it celebrates Halo and seven is somehow involved. Submissions (including your gamertag for credit purposes) should reach my inbox by the 6th. You’ve only got five days so off you go!

A friend and I made something for this, but, after finishing it, I forgot about how seven must be included somewhere in the picture and so neglected to mention it to him (whoops). I guess I can shoehorn one somewhere in the picture, but where? This took about three hours of work, maybe more.

If it's FFA like Lone Wolves, I'm not entirely sure.

When I played Rocket Race, if I got second place, I still received EXP.
 
I disagree red glare is the shining glare of goodness in an otherwise shitty broken playlist.

Orbital, Ghost Town completely broken with way too high flag return times. Basically they need more than just 1flag and multi flag gametypes because they have to have seperate gametypes for small and larger and medium maps.




Also FUCK random BK's in MM. I just lost to a probably practicing Bungie team in Social Big Team because my fucking randoms didn't do shit. I LOST to FUCKING BUNGIE. Fuck THAT. Don't think that weak shit is gunna fly on Bungie Day. You better bring a lot more than that.

That is why you won't be matched against them. You won't lose a game and you trueskill will continue to go up and be higher than the bungle crew who will likely be losing to lower trueskill kids. Gotta be thinking dude :P

Whenever someone quits, everything on the map resets. Weapons, overshields, vehicles, all respawn where they are suppose to. Can this be helped?

It's not just when anyone does it. It is when the host quits. Spawns usually flip as well.

Edit: The other thing that sucks when that happens, is any spree you are on ends as well. I had a friend who was jacked out of a running riot/perfection because of it.

You can still get the perfection even if this happens. The running riot is dead, but you can still get the perfection. Happened to me once before.
 
Alright, we already making teams to go beat Bungie with? Are they giving away actual prizes, or just Recon? If it's just Recon then I don't care about it. I want something cool like a shirt or an autographed pair of Frankie's underwear.

I'm ready to start making up teams. I need 2 more people to run train with me. My brother and I are committed to playing all day to get the chance to cream on Bungle.

I bet I know what the problem was then. I know you have to win in order to get it, so I bet a tie doesn't let you. The game where my friend got jipped was a social slayer game and we got split (gotta love getting split...). I had a guy and his guest that got booted for betraying me, and then all of the other people ended up quitting, so it was just my friend and I. I had already died and he hadn't so I let him kill me until the score was tied so we would both get EXP. He ended up about 17-0 but the host had quit between the Frenzy and the Running Riot.

Yea I was just planning on hopping on with you guys since we tend to win our slayer games.


As for the quitting out and everything coming back, I've seen this used in a super close 24-24 doubles game a player knew he had host quit out and the other player on his team grabbed freshly spawned rockets and won the game, it was actually pretty cool to see it in action.

Some of our guys were getting warmed up last night and ran into some players who thought they were pretty epic. Turns out, only sometimes. Better luck next time. Maybe try going to the body with the AR to take out the shields first, then go up top with the BR. Just sayin'.

What a pretentious map name: Requiem. Will a new thread really be necessary for Bungie day? I can just imagine a bunch of negative comments about Halo from people who do not dare enter this thread.
 
So... Mini Waz had 4 of his maps used but there wasn't one of GAF's fantastic maps on the list? Sounds like a bunch of political bullshit to me.

Edit: Forgot about Butane. Haven't seen him post here in a while.

I bet Ghaleon's maps aren't included because it's 4v4.

Odd Eazy's Ber Ber Creek and Vhfive's maps aren't included, but not sure Eazy submitted his. I know Vhfive. Some of those maps look like trash, and I know one already is (Synapse). I played 4v4 with it in customs, and I must say, I nearly fell asleep.

I should've submitted my Access map. The Summer Theme was a quick, easy process, though.

Why aren't the awesome 4v4 maps from GAF on that list? Sanctum? Ber Ber Creek? Warlock (or w/e Bladed named his map)? Sanctum? Turf? I is be sad. Was really hoping to see some good maps in MM for a change.

I'll be online periodically on Tuesday. So if anyone needs an extra and they see me, just shoot me an invite.
Speaking of Halo, whose gonna be at GAF customs tomorrow? It'll be the first one that I am able to play in a month. Can't wait.

IIRC, Shishka asked people to tag te title of their submission "Map Name - Summer" or something special that. I'm certainly not positive about this but it seems like pretty much whoever did that got thrown into the pool and that he didn't venture outside that group for maps. Woulda been great to have sanctum and warlock in there but there's a lot of maps I've been wanting to try out in that bunch nonetheless.

And I haven't submitted anything to Atlas yet :lol

Yeah, some of those maps look super sweet and fun to boot. Very interested to see how they play out under the matchmaking population's aggressive scrutiny.
