Tundra isn't so bad once you actually play it a couple times and figure out how it works. I will say though that it would work MUCH better if there were tunneled exits from the bottom middle of the bowls out to the left and right side. (I think that made sense) Its a bit hard to leave the bowl against good players with host, as they'll always get the first shots in because of the ~1/5 second connection advantage which equates to eliminating a persons natural reaction time. It does play oddly well but I really wish that Sniper would be removed in Doubles, it can stay in TS as its a lot harder to control a map against 4 players than 2. Instead possibly put an OS or Invisy there.

It doesn't work so well in SWAT though...it really should be removed from that playlist.

Tundra BR's isn't so bad when you realise the other options include Plurality, Vessel and boundless. These three maps alone make me want to curbstomp a puppy.

I don't even mind those maps when they are AR/BR starts. Seriously though some of those maps make it feel like Halo 2 when you had the SMG and they have the BR its so uneven once a team gets control.

This. I don't mind the AR as a weapon. But when I have an AR ONLY, I feel gimped. AR/BR starts are the future. And the future is bright!

Heh - I actually find that fun every time it comes up. I dreaded it the first time, but I've played it three or four times now, and every single one has been a blast.

WHOLLY agreed.

The only time I would find it annoying is when each team has the other's flag and it turns into a really long stalemate.

I love Boundless. Such a good map.

Great looking map but we'll never see it in matchmaking because it's heavily budget-glitched. What's amazing about Utah Mambo is that it is so massive and enticate yet stays within the default budget boundary. I surprisingly didn't find much trouble making my map within the budget either. Whoever made Frailty only used the extra budget for cosmetic reasons. I'm sure he could have produced the same thing within the budget had he not focused on making it pretty. The way it is now, he'd have to reconstruct a lot of things to get it down.
I didn't notice it got budget giltched. That's a shame. The initial thing I loved about his map is how perfect and smooth he seems to attach the blocks into the sand seamlessly. You did it great in Brouhaha as well.

Could still try some gametypes out this weekend if you guys want.

Can't wait to see it. I downloaded the latest edition of Access the other day and it looks good. Seems like it could've benefited a lot from being able to spend the budget without hitting the object limit. Hopefully everything is going swimmingly with this new one and you won't run into the same problems.
I agree about that. I spent so many pieces trying to perfect the holes and smoothness on the red and blue bases. I didn't do any geomerging, but even if I changed it up now, I still wouldn't be sure what to include.

Maybe try that as well, if we get 4v4 or 5v5. Gametypes were adjusted for Territories and KotH. I still think Multi-CTF, Team Slayer BRs, and Neutral Bomb would be the best suited.

Ugh, I hate the matchmaking system so fucking much. Why are we playing these types of guys? They've won like 70/72 games in MLG and are only 25s. Why? Because the matchmaking system is completely broken. And we got completely fucked up. Spawn, get spawn killed. It's bullshit. Fuck Halo.

http://www.bungie.net/Stats/GameStatsHalo3.aspx?gameid=1214363096&player=backflip10019

And we played them twice in a row. I quit because it's completely unfair that we (levels 29-37) should be playing people so much fucking better than us. Fuck this game.

I am having a similar issue. I used to play a whole back in college on a nice PC monitor. Now, after months of hiatus, I try to play on a large TV from the couch and I am just not as good and I get worked over when it matches me with people who have the same skill that it thinks I do. It is frustrating and makes me not want to play.

I want to play with a people that have a variety of talent. Big Team Battle does this well from time to time.

Yes, TUNDRA is complete and utter SHIT.

SHIT SHIT SHIT

I have no idea how this vomit of a map made it through Atlas.

Sight lines are terrible, the whole fucking map is an abomination.

Remove it ASAP

thnx

Isn't it from the same great mind that brought us Smashed? :lol

Anyone noticing problems with the transporters on Avalanche? I've had a few glitches in the past but these last few time were ridiculous. I was basically stuck in a loop where I was switching back and forth between the base and machine gun nest every second. And no matter what direction I pushed my stick I would remain stuck in this back-and-forth juggle between transporters. The only solution was to jump around randomly and hope to get out where I wanted. This happened to me on several occasions my last session.

It has a lot of flags, rockets and lasers. There might even be some Splasers or Snockets or Splockets or Sneedlers in there too.

I went and checked last years BWU that announced it...

Fourth of July - A collection of Flag, Rockets, and VIP. 5v5.

VIP ... ugh .... Rockets .... ugh. At least it has Flag.

That's actually one of the draws of that gametype - killing the other carrier and then keeping their team off it long enough for it to reset. We used to play this gametype ALL THE TIME on Beaver Creek - with Halo 1 shotguns and 30 second respawns, you might go an hour without scoring, but DAMN was it a fun hour.

Surprisingly enough, I don't think I've had a stalemate game on Orbital yet. Hmm... I guess that means I have to go look. :(

::checks H3O::

Hmm... looks like my memory is faulty. (Friggin' steel trap - yeah, right.) I've only played this gametype ONCE on Orbital (but 6 times on Assembly, and once on the Pit). None of the games (on any map) ended in a stalemate. (I was on the winning team 7 of 8 times.)

Ugh, I haven't played VIP yet. Just Red Glare (Lasers and Rockets) and Flag games. Christ, the 1-flag spawns on Last Resort are terrible. Our whole team quit except for me and my brother and we kept being spawn killed like 10 times in a row each. So stupid.

Eh. Long stalemates aren't that fun for me.

*claps*

Personally I love that version of ctf, it's what I've always considered "proper" ctf, thinking back to my pc days.
Had a game of it recently in H3. I was carrying our flag. My friends failed to protect me while trying to hunt our flag down. :(

Plurality RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

CTF Classic with touch return was probably my favorite version of CTF in Halo. Followed closely by the CTF Classic that's available now that with a 3-5 second recovery time. I love the touch/quick returns because you really need to work as a team to take the other team out and then run it as fast as possible. You usually only have 1 chance to run that flag and capture it per steal. If you don't have the proper support, against a decent team, that flag isn't going anywhere.

Indeed, I really like the quick return. It's absolutely needed on small maps too.

Ber Ber Creek with CTF Classic. Works perfectly. We need to do that again on customs night.

How so? Simply stating something doesn't make it so. You're a jerk. See? I can do it too.

You may think I'm a jerk but you're in the minority. People like WrikaWrek, Adam Blade, Cipher, Madman, f/elz, Dark Faze, adelante, Ten-Song, whatdiyousay, Sleeker, AirBrian, Masta_Killah, super-heated plasma, Jube3, Dina, widgetraf, fernoca, Not a Jellyfish, Kerm 1, DSN2K Harmonica, brandonh83, Maxwell House, DeejayKnight, duffey, YNWA, nelkon and parker, AdventureRacing, Calcaneus, Sho Nuff, Bowen_B, Okin, GalacticAE, thetrin, Chittagong, VOOk, anyone from BondageGAF, etc. I can go on.

Also my good friend Itos Vazquez a published author, best known for his spanish cookbook El Gran Libro de la Cocina Ligera Paso a Paso, is cool and doesn't think I'm a jerk.

Hm, but remember that time when 15-year-old Ada Mason was invited with her friends to go to a supposedly enchanted island just off the California coast, what could she do but play along?

What is going on with Matchmaking the last few days. I am a shitty skill 18 and getting matched up with 46-50's in lone wolves.

Highest skill has nothing to do with who you get matched up within the playlists, only individual playlist rankings do.

Brilliant design right? Yea.

Unless you can put forth solid evidence that you're not in the minority, you can't say shit. And I'm 100% positive everybody in BondageGAF loves me.

His writing is absolute shit compared to this book I read the other day. Well, its less like a book and more like the epitome of literature perfection and was written using ink made from the tears of the Muses themselves.

"I awoke in the middle of the night after a puzzling dream. I had been on a boat with Snail, sailing over a cold, black ocean. He turned to me, and he had grown and melded into a huge, blue dragon with black eyes. He grabbed me, and snarled in my face, “Do not go! Do not go! Turn back or lose your former life and love! Do not go...”

Fourth of July - A collection of Flag, Rockets, and VIP. 5v5.
Wait... this is the 4th of July playlist? All kidding aside, if VIP was the Zeus variant, this would be my ultimate dream playlist. Seriously. Fuck yes.

by the way, when you only sleep for about 5 hours out of the last 38 hours, shit starts getting really fucking weird

So what is the best playlist to start getting my skill up?
I loathe FFA and find it incredibly frustrating so for me, playing that playlist wouldn't be a very enjoyable way of getting your skill up.

Play some Social Slayer, Social Skirmish, or Team Slayer (if you have the DLC). You'll still get games where the teams are really unbalanced, but if you play against a really good team, don't hesitate to replay they film in theater and see how they do what they do. The most beneficial use of theater would be watching matches where you may not have done so well but your teammates and the opposing team were good so the game was close and everyone was trying really hard. See what they do, watch what you did, and see how you can improve that way.

Team SWAT is the only correct answer. Learn how to get the headshots is the most important skill in Halo. Once comfortable in that I'd say try MLG and/or TS to learn how to play the gametypes with shields and some equipments. Maybe even Team Doubles with a more experienced partner have him show you some stuff.

Also WATCH better players players. If you don't know how somebody did something go back in theater and check it out. You can goto MLGPRO.com and a bunch of the streams at justin.tv website have really good players just getting 50s over and over to sell, watching them will basically show you WHAT to do to win. Hard parts doing it.

I actually meant to say the Skill level in Halo but I get your point. My frustration with the social lists are all the BS games in them.

One of the things I struggle with is proper weapon use. For instance I could have the needler and fire an entire round on someone but against me people can take me right down with it.

Sorry for bailling on you guys, Penguin and Juice, but I could not take 1 flag on Last Resort again. Especially after our teammate quit for no reason in the lobby.

We stopped them from capping 2 vs 5 in the second round. Were counting it as a win.

Ranking system is fuckin stupid. 47 in Lone Wolves, and got nothing but 1st and 2nd for almost 2 days straight and still didn't get bumped up.

Assholes.

Related: A friend and I won a game 2 vs 4 TS on The Pit in MLG earlier today. Two of our team mates randomly quit (maybe booted, who knows) when we had the lead. We held out and even extended our lead. That shit might be going up on Youtube :lol
