I guess I should have joined to help out lol. Actually I've been playing like pure dog shit for the past week or so. I've solidified the loss of my 50 in MLG today with like 3 straight losses. At least I have something to work for though. :/

Even if you were playing 100% I doubt you could have helped us out. None of the three of us was playing well and the system just seemed to be stacked against us as well. Thats the way it goes sometimes I guess. We won 18 of 25 the other day, so I guess last night was just karma biting us in the ass for having a good day :/

I stumbled upon something, which I didn't even know existed. I'll just post it because I'm nearly at a loss for words. This is from an artist who has done several art pieces for Bungie, some of which are very familiar. http://www.visualatrium.com/

2igoggi.jpg

observations:
- spartan on left has gray armor(gray team?)
-spartan on left has head blown apart
-blown apart helmet in the hands of spartan on the right
-spartan on right doesn't seem to be happy, and is getting restrained, however the effort to do so seems ineffective.
-man getting pointed at is concealing a pistol behind his back
-both spartans have steam coming off of their armor
-pelican is still grounded as seen by ODST in distance

who,what,where,when,why:discuss

It's titled "Insurrection." Seems it's concept work based on early SPARTAN history. UNSCDF, UEG, and all that.

its.... that really is an amazing piece of art

Holy fuck at those pieces. Wow. I've been reading Fall of Reach and have been wanting to draw some of the scenes but I can't do anything close to those. Those are fucking sick.

Its about the content, craig has more technical skill but these are halo fan gold, giving us a sense of awe with powerful poses, scale, and in the first one a very tense situation.

If a wonky looking spartan hiding behind a rock is more evocative to Halo fans than this
temple.screen.jpg

infinity_bg.screen.jpg

compiler.screen.jpg

then I'm going to jump out a window.

Also, new Marathon please Bungie.

jump out of a window, because that's all marathon, which isn't going to get to halo fans as deeply despite loose ties between the series.

What team was MC on? Green/Blue/Alpha? I do not remember.

Without Going into spoilers for people who havnt read Fall of Reach, I want to play MC's Mission during the attack on Reach. Make it Happen Bungle.

Low Gravity, Mac Station Fighting

Also Kyle, Halo IS Marathon for the new gen. :p

Kyle, you can't get Halo fans to appreciate good when they've settled for mediocre for years.

Considering Kyle himself is a Halo fan........ :lol :lol

what a weak attempt to troll halo and its fans

Those Marathon pics look pretty epic. Too bad they never got to be fully relized because of a lack of hardware at the time. It would make a good-looking game.

Arn't Halo and Marathon very similar though?

While HBO's Weekly Update archive is a blessing for how easy it is to search, I often smirked when Louis Wu mentioned it was also for those who couldn't navigate the bungie.net site. I mean, who are they?

I'm halfway through a week at the in-laws, on an ancient machine driving at 28.8mbs. Lord in heaven. They exist.

Without HBO's archive, I wouldn't have been able to read the update this week. So thanks, Wu. BTW, I really did name the rabbit Louis (pronouced loo-ee). Or Mr. Louis as the kids call him. He's cute.

A new Marathon would be amazing. A. Mazing.

I mean look at all these kids here digging into minute pieces of Halo lore and trying to understand those shallow, pointless terminals in Halo 3, etc, etc

This is the type of Bungie terminal I came to know and love

http://traxus.nothorns.org/traxus/M1.02.3.1/Terminal

How much more interesting is that than Cortana yelling at you? I mean that is a legitimate piece of writing right there. Marathon's blend of action with a hazy, cryptic vibe was and still is very cool.

Eh. You'll just end up constantly complaining about the game.

And you'll constantly quit playing before you finish the first level because something shot you, right? I'd complain if a new Marathon game had a multiplayer that was controlled by an inept person who blatantly ignored the community for years and whose lethargic decisions never ended up being worth the wait.

A new Bungie developed Marathon, if done right, would blow minds.

28.8mbs? Wow, I can't fathom how slow that is. When I think back to my 56k days its nothing but terrible memories -- aside from all the hours spent playing Phantasy Star Online.

Hah, rabbits are great. I've got two of them right now, and have had rabbits for over a decade now. One of mine is 9 years old this year, the other one will be 3. They are both litter box trained and roam the house freely. They're great pets if you treat em right and keep them healthy. I love mine. All the fun of a not annoying cat, without the noise. Just be careful: If you leave them outside, they can get heatstroke very easily.

Just so everyone knows, the orange WoW Game Fuel tastes exactly like the Halo 3 Game Fuel.
I've still got a few cans of the Halo 3 stuff laying around in my room. I like the design on them. I don't like soda though, so I never really drank any of it. Only a can or two.

It's not as good as I remembered it to me. Must have Master Chief looking at me when I drink it, not this ugly goblin thing.

[edit] wat? Frankie's banned, Druz is not. Lame.

Also I found this:

Pretty interesting: New Xbox's get host, old Xbox's do not.
Very intersting. Although, maybe it has to do with the system cache? What if he cleared that or possibly wiped his whole hard drive? I can't imagine the actually hardware itself (besides HDD) would have this kind of effect.

I'm guessing its connected to the Xbox's MAC address, so you'd have to swap out whatever the Xbox's network card is, I don't even really know whats in the system never cared to look it up. I'd imagine that would be cheaper for LegendPimps to do instead of buying new Xbox's all the time lol. How can someone care that much about host? :lol

Heh - I think the first time I realized this was when I was visiting my wife's grandparents in rural Texas. I'm pretty sure it was a 14.4, though...

(rofl - I remember when there was a modem company with three models - Bronze, Silver, and Gold. (Can't remember the name of the company.) The GOLD was 14.4. :D )

But I want to tend the rabbits, George!
