rofl - yeah, it was because of that one grifball game that I have trouble taking you seriously. Really. (No, not really.)xxjuicesxx said:STFU Louis Wu, just because you run some website I'm not gunna appreciate the fact that you come in here and be a dick to me because I messed up a game of Grifball two months ago and you blew a fucking gasket. Seriously you've been nothing but a dick to me and you are supposed to be the "mature" one.
When you call someone a fucking ignorant 12 year old, you're being a dick. There really aren't two ways about that.I wasn't being a dick to Dax, if hes going to make outlandish statements about MLG then I can call him an ignorant 12 year old (which he is)
Way to totally miss the point. And because you're bad and got yelled at in MLG doesn't mean you shouldn't play it turn the fucking voice off or mute them and try and get better. Do you just give up in everything in life that you don't excel at instantly?
Seriously "I got yelled at so I left" is your reason? Thats beyond pathetic.

I agree on both counts. Before a week ago, I could care less about the MLG hopper. Then after watching Tashi kick ass on his live stream I decided to play some MLG matches. I leveled up 6 times and won 8 matches in a row with only randoms on my team. Hell, even when my teammates didn't have mics they listened to me -- specifically my instructions and callouts during the match. It was a blessing. But regardless of the details, I had a blast.backflip10019 said:Maybe if you gave it a chance, you'd see how fun and satisfying the playlist can be. There's nothing better than wiping out a team on Narrows, sitting top center with a sniper and then spawn killing for a multi-kill.
For BTB games or larger custom games, I'll agree with you that one-hit beatdowns aren't that bad as you rarely encounter these bubble shield situations. I'm talking more about smaller 4v4 or FFA games. In these smaller games, one-hit beatdowns are ridiculous.
And a jumping Rocket Launcher melee was also a one-hit kill but then they patched it and made it weaker.Havok said:On the subject of objective beatdowns: I miss the momentum-based damage model for melees in Halo 2. Jumping melees did more than running melees, which did more than standing melees. If you jumped and then whacked with the flag in Halo 2, it was a one hit kill, I think (its been so long, I might be completely off base), which was sort of a unique way to handle making the objective carrier not quite defenseless. Having said that, if that model isn't present, I do like the one hit kills with the objective items in Halo 3, so that everybody can't just rush the bomb/flag guy with no negative consequences (with a team that's essentially one man bigger).
Hell yeah. BR/No motion sensor are the basics and that's all you need. That's how I like my Halo 1 and Halo 2 multiplayer action. (Obviously, with the Pistol in Halo 1.)Domino Theory said:I just enjoy BR starts with no radar.
Everything else put on the map (needlers, Regens, Fusion Coils) is fine by me as long as I have my BR with no radar.

I agree. I love perfectly executed flag runs. But then again 2/3 of what you just said will go way over the heads of many of the casual/social players in this thread.Tashi0106 said:Long ass but very correct post.

Which is why I wished they kept lock-on Rockets, actually. Perhaps maybe even have two versions of one locking on and one without.idoprime said:Sniper is Cheap? :lol:lol
You know what IS cheap. The Laser. It is like having a Long Range 1 shot kill weapon combined with the ultimate anti vehicle weapon.
The missile pod is Halo 3 equivalent of the lock-on rockets. The problem with Halo 2's rockets is that they were not only great for taking down vehicles, but also people. Ring a bell?Striker said:Which is why I wished they kept lock-on Rockets, actually. Perhaps maybe even have two versions of one locking on and one without.
At least you can't use the Rockets as a Sniper in Standoff.
Or improve the Missile Pod significantly and remove the Laser.Striker said:Which is why I wished they kept lock-on Rockets, actually. Perhaps maybe even have two versions of one locking on and one without.

It's the one thing I'd change about ValhallaStriker said:I see your point, but the factor with the lock-on Rockets is they couldn't home on infantry, and act as a Sniper on huge maps.
Ugh, can you tell I despise the laser.![]()

i guess ill never truly appreciate mlg then because honestly i dont want that level of competitiveness when i play halo. i play halo to have fun and relax. you find joy in perfect flag runs and i find joy in triple kills with the needler and driving a teammate to a running riot. we like different styles thats fine. there are playlist like mlg and actionsack because of these different styles of play. halo is awesome like thatTashi0106 said:Crazy last page or so lol.
Ok so, MLG gametypes staleness. I play a fuck ton of MLG games and it still doesn't get stale/boring for me. I don't get bored of it because I guess I just really enjoy the gametypes. They're fast paced and require a ton of teamwork. The MLG gametypes in my opinion can't be truthfully judged unless you play a competitive 4v4 match with people you know, where everyone is communicating and calling things out. It's when strategies are executed with precision. Weapon and power up respawns are timed, rushes are coordinated, teammates lives are saved with falling sniping headshots, flags are run to perfection. MLG can't be truly appreciated until you've played MLG CTF Pit and you push the enemy base with your team. You've got a Sniper on middle bridge, a guy at green box a guy on plat and a guy in flag running it. You just killed 2 guys at needler and you nade Mauler/Shotty so the team doesn't respawn there guaranteeing sniper/court spawns. The flag runner hops up to plat (thanks to the genius crates put inside flag room) drops flag, picks it up, drops it again, late grabs it to get a speed boost and tosses the flag to green box along with himself. One spawns in court and your sniper drops him instantly. Your teammate on their plat is now helping out as the other team frantically tries to stop the flag by going the only way they could which is under bridge and onto your training. But by then, it's too late, the flag has been jumped onto plat and is dropped into flag where it is capped. And if you're efficient enough, you can even run it again immediately.
I c wut u did thar.OuterWorldVoice said:This thread is short, yes, but it's packed with content.

and yes i do like to play competitive sometimes but ill just jump into team slayer because honestly your much more likely to find nicer people there.
juices if you ever want people to take you seriously take notes from tashi
Juices is nicer on XBL than he is on GAF.Tashi0106 said:I like all that stuff too. Triple kill with a needler? I wish I could get a triple kill with a needler. Also, I love driving the Warthog, more so in Halo 2 though.
Oh and Juices is a good guy. Even though he doesn't show it, deep down, he's got a good heart.

The greatest amount of "what the fuck"s I've ever witnessed in such a short period of time. The stupid thing is you didn't receive a betrayal for any one of those...Self Induced said:Yeah... I've learned the rocket launcher is the least alcohol-friendly weapon in the game, unfortunately.

What does the AR have to do with aiming?SpudBud said:I noticed that the AR has no aim sight to speak of. So how the hell do marines aim that thing?
Wait, you don't like Snipeoff? What about the steel cages in random spots or random shield doors don't you like?Tashi0106 said:Man, Snipers is the worst. The maps are alright (besides Standoff) but the people in matchmaking are awful. I don't know how they get such high levels.

It's actually for enhanced map movement...Dani said:Well look at the weapon, you'll notice it has a compass. Just aim roughly in one of those directions and you are using it right.
