We've played on Abbadon at least least a week for a while now in customs saturday. It's always a ton of fun and there are lots of shenanigans.

Customs were a lot of fun tonight, even though I'm terrible at Halo now. Playing once a week is obvisouly not enough. That one multi flag game on Santum was EPIC. And now that you forced us to play neutral bomb with AR starts, you have no excuse not to put it on Atlas. Now. When you read this, go to Atlas and submit that junk. Quit being lazy Five.

Ghaleon, I think your map is good as it is. And you're right about it taking awhile to get new films if you tweak it. I say submit it tonight.

Same here, I've been playing to many other games and I realized my Halo skill is down to zero. Can't even go into matchmaking without getting the sucky general comments from people. I need to spend more time playing H3 to get my skills back up but I just haven't found the time or enthusiasm to do so.

So. I think I need another film to submit Entrenched to Atlas.

These are the film submission rules:

Playtest

Provide links to three films (NOT film clips) in which games are played through to completion on your map. Use the following guidelines when testing your map:
  • 1. Use gametypes existing in Matchmaking, as they are used in Matchmaking. Films that are too long to be similar to matchmade games will result in rejection. If you need to, grab the matchmaking game variants by playing them in matchmaking, then selecting Recent Games -> The gametype you wish to film.
  • 1b. When we say "as they are used in Matchmaking," we mean specifically the team format as it exists in Matchmaking. One off-team film might be acceptable, but if you're testing for a 4v4 or 5v5 hopper without full teams, your submission will be rejected.
  • 2. Each film must showcase a different gametype.
  • 3. If your map variant is specialized for a specific gametype (as you have referenced above), at least one film must be of that gametype.
  • 4. Use gametypes that your map supports best.
I'm making a BTB submission, which is a 6v6, 7v7 or 8v8 playlist. Here's what I have right now:

Neutral Assault: 7v7
Slayer: 6v6
CTF: 7v7
CTF: 5v5

The first three are in the range that I can submit. Unfortunately, the 7v7 CTF game from tonight had the flag respawn set to 10 seconds, instead of the Matchmaking default of 30, which violates rule #1: "Use gametypes existing in Matchmaking, as they are used in Matchmaking."

Curses. We'll have to give it one more go next week. Thanks for the encouragement on this one guys.

The remakes of Beaver Creak, Foundation and Turf are all excellent. The Turf remake is really meticulous - the forging in there is just incredibly detailed. I can't imagine how long that took to do. Great games on them. Voc's was another standout tonight.

I didn't care for Utal Mambo or Cubed all that much. In Utah, it's a little too hard to get up to the flag base, and there's these odd dead-end corridors down below that don't seem to serve any purpose. The actual forging though is remarkable - I still don't know how half of it was done.

Alright, I seem to have a writers block with map making right now.

I have built this one, and I just can't seem to figure out what to do with it. I don't think its a total bust, but I just want to see if anyone had any ideas as to what I could do.

I like what you've got right now but I see that there's currently only 2 ways to get into each base (the large area of ground on the outside and the elevated doorway). You may want to make the bases a little more accessable by adding another route.
 
I was (or am) going to try to create a tubed walkway on the next level of the center building's wall that would open up at the ramps. At the end of them is going to be teleporters that lead to the opposite side of the entrances of the bases.

I just had the idea to try and dig out a tunnel underneath the farthest end of the bases that enters/exits near the warthog spawn.

That would make 4 entrances, 2 on each side.

Eh, I'll hammer something out eventually. No rush.
 
Anyone who is having trouble playing the game; BR being OFF, Sniper just not good enough. Go play MLG and Snipers. That shit will put you straight.

BTW, Having a random kid in MLG who keeps taking the ball towards the other team when we are screaming at him to come towards US is sooooooo much fun.

Speaking of maps, Monkey Cage's spawn points were all screwed up. I went back in and tried to fix everything. I think it should be more spawner friendly now. Does anyone know if it's necessary to go and do starting spawn points for every gametype? Because that is what I did. I got slayer, flag, assault, king, and infection taken care of. Which reminds me that I should probably go back and fix all the spawn points on Goldmine. Sheesh, I can't believe myself. And one last question before I go, do I have to re-upload my map to file share every time I make a change, or is that done automatically each time I re-save an updated version?

So I really like Monkey Cage. I think it's gonna be a really fun map, but I need to block off one more area to prevent people from getting to where they aren't supposed to go. However, I'm out of money to add anything. So now I have figure out what I might be able to remove to give myself a little more money.
 
Well I just caught up on the last 5 pages. You guys complain WAYYYYY too much. :D

Anyways heres where we stand. Bungie you can PM me the details of my new job as playlist assistant on GAF I guess.
 
Hey good games tonight peeps. That was fun. Glad I finally got to play with Eazy and Ram...good times...I really like how we played every game with AR starts. If only Dax could've been there...oh well

Wanted to play with you guys; but was totally not in the mood for customs or social, so played MLG and Snipers with Thermite.

Man, had too much fun last night, probably the most fun I've had with this game in a long time! Ghaleon, Entrenched is the shit man, I love that map, fun games. Oh, and this GAME( I think this is it:lol ) was insane, can't believe the other team came back to win, after we were up by 1 for soo long! Vhfive you did an awesome job on Sanctum! Can't wait to play you all next week:D

Wish I would have known you guys were staying as long as you did otherwise I would have rejoined.

In other news, I have started my map over from scratch yet again and it's turning out to be that much better. Instead of it residing in the sky like it was before, I've decided to create it on the "sand" portion.

Things are going much smoother this time around especially with the fact that I don't have to worry about laying down the ground anymore (bumpy ground was getting a tad annoying). I'm also not even using the glitched infinite $$$ map like I was before, and instead am using Voc's skybubble version because of some other difficulties I was having before.

Offensive base, bridge, and even the "pathway" is completed. I really love how the pathway turned out. Hopefully I can have this thing done before your next games, I won't be able to join because I'm working that weekend, but I'll make sure to put it in my fileshare.

i think you mean this GAME where we got the last cap within 30 sec of the end and we were down pretty much all game.
 
Man, I did so shitty in that Neutral bomb with AR starts. That flag match though, god damn that was epic
 
I'm thinking of remaking Tombstone. I haven't started any work yet but I was curious about how I should go about the ditch in the middle... Should I not worry about it? Try to do it? Make it converse instead of concave?

Also I plan on using the outside part of Sandbox to do this... So it will be a reimagining rather than a complete remake.

If it's a re-imagining, it's definitely your call -- but for me, Hang 'em High would not be Hang 'em High without the concave reservoir tract running across the center.

i would suggest booting up halo 2 (or 1) and running around tombstone. try to get a feel for the map and recreate it the best you can.

since its a reimagining and not a remake dont stress to much over the details and if you can't work something out move on to the next thing and maybe a solution will come to you as you forge and get better at it.
 
Monkey Cage is DONE. I fixed the spawn points, and closed off what I think are the only ways out of bounds. It's a smaller sized map, roughly on par with The Pit. No vehicles, and no equipment (I kind of ran out of money). Grenades may be kind of sparse too, but I think the amount of weapons on the map is adequate. I didn't really consider that it might be a good dual-wielding map, but I have no dual-wield able weapons in it as of now. I might be up for changing it depending on how it plays. 1Flag/Assault and Slayer games are probaby what the map is best suited for. So there ya go. Time to eat lunch and then get ready for work. BOO!!

EDIT: Just went back through it again to check everything and I'm really excited. This is what Foundry should have been, no lie.:D
 
When host quits in MLG TS Pit have spawn sides always changed or only if you are invading their side completely? Is this new or have I never noticed?

I played a game we went up 7-1 had all the power weapons on their side two of them quit and for the rest of the game we were spawn killing them on the side we started on...it was really weird.

I think it has something to do with if you are outside of your spawning base, and are actually at the other base. (as in your team)

Not long. To be honest thats basically the intro. I just got bored so I trimmed it off and changed the text. I need about 45 seconds of footage and its good to go. Sony Vegas is so much fun :D

Yup, good games last night, sorry for bailing there at the end Eazy/Tashi.

Sanctum is amazing, no way that shouldn't be in matchmaking after I had the joy of playing Cubed.

And yeah, Cubed plays pretty poorly in FFA. I forgot I also had one other map that is destined for MM; wish we'd had tried it too.

That reminds me; if anyone at Bungie could put up those 6 map variants in their fileshare. These are some of the map variants that are said to be in MM right now yet there isn't a way to find them easily:

"Dismemberment” (Assembly)
"Andromeda” (Orbital)
“Spooky House” (Sandbox)

And these have been announced and aren't in MM at all:

Take a look at these and see how they went about remaking it, what problems or limits they ran into, and what you could do to improve it.

I think I have the top downloaded one because Urk posted them a day or two ago. It has it's problems that I'm already looking into.

, that epic flag game needs to be one of the files. Unluss it is against the default MM rules... which is probally is. Oh well. SUBMIT THAT JUNK NOW FOO!
 
Can I get a comment on Flag return times, is it even being thought about reducing them?

Also, I liked the idea the other day about making regular playlists Double XP, I think it would do stuff like Team Objective a lot of good, as well as Squad Battle.
