the geomerging in that map is fucking awesome. i have big plans for my next map involving geomerging but it might be a while considering the effort that goes into geomerging and the fact that i just picked up fallout 3

I'm working on a BTB map on the sandbox floor, it's only about 25% done but I'm trying to leave enough room that it works for BTB.

I have that map, it looks very well done. I would have to play a match or two on the map to see how it works.

Also walked through Antiquity from Forgehub, the map seems too busy for my tastes. I don't mind complex maps but this one just doesn't work with me.

i also picked up antiquity and walked it. it is a little busy but it seems like it would work well. gonna have to try it out on sat
 
Utah Mambo looks very good, kind of a poor name though. Also I watched a video about the map at Forgehub, which looked interesting. But why oh why does every Halo montage or map video have to be set to shitty emo rock?

Already has.

I remember playing on it a few days after the map codes went out of the community. Aside from the defender's base, it looks like has changed most of the middle structure and attacker's base. I'm going to have to run through it again.

Bladed, played through some team slayer matches last night on Mage. Map is ace, man.

I set my map walkthroughs to halo 2 and Halo 3 OST tracks cos im an uber nerd :D

Yeah, I've followed the Atlas thread on it and it seems like it's still a WIP. The version I downloaded had a warthog spawned on top of a ghost and a camo merged with an OS which was confusing. I haven't had the luxury of trying a full match on it but there's a ton of potential there. It seems like Shishka's been involved in suggesting improvements so I hope it eventually leads somewhere but it'd be a lot less disheartening if Shishka was more transparent on which maps he thinks are MM quality or have the potential of becoming so. As it stands it seems like he wants his choices to be surprises and surprises are neat and all, but it'd be great if forgers were incentivized a bit more.

thats because it changes from asymmetrical games and symmetrical games. (ex. ghost asymmetrical and warthog symmetrical).

No problem. Thermite and I ran through the latest version of your map two days ago, and very nice job trying to re-create the creek. I don't know how that slipped all of our heads. :lol

And nice job making the overshield more like it was in Beaver Creek, but what happened to the top of red base? It doesn't have a block with a red column on each side like blue base has.

Edit: Looks like MMU is live.

I'll be down for customs again this weekend. Your map was a hoot; visually it's so different from Beaver Creek, but the geometry is close enough that I kept having feelings of deja vu. :lol

I need two more films for Entrenched as well, if we get enough folks. I'm thinking 5 v 5 is enough, since that's about what we had last time and it was pretty crazy.

I'm leaving the setup the same for now, until we've tested a few more games. Based on feedback from the games you guys played after I dropped out, I moved the bomb plant zone down to the ground where the bomb spawns. Logistically, it's similar to Rat's Nest where you can just drive up and plant, but like that map it's a low point in the base surrounded by elevated firing points. I think that will make it much easier to get a plant, rather than making attackers ascend to the central island. But I'd love to test it, and a Slayer game, as well.

The blue and red bases' roofs were set up quite differently, even more so than I have them set up. If you pop in Halo 2 you'll see. Don't worry though, I forgot that they were different too before I checked.

Hopefully they put up the 6 map variants in Bungie Favorites or somewhere else. We sure as fuck aren't going to run into them in matchmaking if the BWU's list of changes was comprehensive.

If you look at the Halo 2 map, you will notice that the bases aren't identical up top. Eazy recreated the bases pretty much just as they were from Halo 2.

Edit: Beaten by the B of Eazy himself.
 
For whoever's doing the lists on maps, I had to switch it Mountain to 1.04. Something happened to the spawns (must not have saved correctly), and I had to add zones and flag placements back in.

Hoping to get it into this week's custom night if at all possible.

Oh just wondering since lately I keep finding relatives that I barely remember while in matchmaking and through that we may be related too somehow. :lol
 
I had to gut the bases in Goldmine. They were just kind of blah. Now it should have a little better feel for when entering a base on the bottom level. I've also added a turret to each base, but they're mainly for CTF games (notice that they're pointed towards a corner, and not an open area of the map). I think I did that, because I hate turrets. In slayer games you can still pop the turret off the stand and go wherever you want. Another adjustment was the addition of grav lifts at both base's bottom level. This gives you one more option of getting up quicker, eliminating the need to go through a port or walk up a large ramp (if you're in a hurry).

I wish I had been more careful to place my walls perpendicular to each other when I first laid out the boundaries since the map is supposed to be symmetric. Goldmine is rough around the edges, and you'll notice certain things are a little off, but it should still be fun to play...I hope lol. Maybe I should call it Goldmine... the Ghetto.
Goldmine v1.5 Ugh... Forgot I had a few pieces not appearing at the start of the game. Just fixed it.

If I skipped v1.4, WHOOPS! ;)
Forge was never something I really dabbled in, but all of a sudden I'm addicted.
 
^^^ agreed with all of that...I haven't played it in matchmaking but I have dabbled with it in customs, I think I need to play on it more before I can tell how I really like it. At first I used to hate Amplified but now I love it. I'm excited to play some more maybe later tonight or tomorrow
 
Players shouldn't spawn with nades on Orbital. Also what is the equipment time on that map sweet god there are regens and bubble shields falling out of the sky in that bitch.
 
I'll try to join in on the custom games this weekend. I've been busy upgrading everything in RE5 again after I had my save file corrupted (with everything upgraded and unlocked!).

Yeah, equipment on all maps need to be a) limited and b) have high respawn times.

(Two power drainers, a bubble shield and a regen all on a small map like Assembly, lolWAT)

Anyone know the timeline until bungie rolls out a way to upload save films to the net? I have all these fantastic clips but i'm lost without gamevee.
 
Remember in the pre-Halo 3 release days they talked about equipment being sparse and sometimes hard to locate (different locales?). Now, it's like a player can have one, use it, then while it's about to end, his teammate can immediately toss another down. Look at the non-stop Regens in Isolation for example. On larger maps I could understand the more amounts of Drainers or Bubble Shields, but on small maps? Ugh.

Regens, Bubble Shields, and Power Drainers is basically all we see anymore. A Gravity Lift and Trip Mine for a rare occasion.

I miss the trip mine being on Valhalla. I still don't understand why it was removed. Make it happen (again), Bungle!
