Eazy, your beaver is delicious. I prefer the look of the sunny one, but I think the full weapon set one is probably the best choice. I hope you put it into Atlas.

Does anyone know what happens with spawn points on the edge of a respawn area? I noticed on Beaver that one blue spawn near the creek is only partly inside, and if that stops the spawn point working then it might be worth tweaking it back a few inches.

Yeah, it was a real bummer having to delete the orbs in order to finish off the map. Bungie, I just need about $100 dollars, I swear I'll pay ya back.

I'm not sure how much of a spawn point must be inside the respawn area to be active. As for the spawns on my map, I've learned that they must always be tweaked after testing them in matches so definitely expect some changes.
 
If I log on early tonight, I'll check the HaloGAF GT and see if you guys are online. I'd like to help playtest BC since it was one of my all time favorite maps.

I'll agree that it's fun for a while (though I could only really stand it for an hour or so at a time), but it's just kind of sad that Bungie is going back to RR, a gametype that already exists in Multi Team, for a weekend playlist.

Where are the NEW weekend playlists?
 
I'm fuckin PRO at Rocket Race.

EarForce X4's are pretty awesome so far. I played a game of 1v1 on Guardian and I could like HEAR where he was.

I played a game of MLG on the pit and I literally heard a guy walking around under snipe tower while i was sniping up top i turned and looked at lift and noscoped him. I've never been able to hear that kind of detail with tv speakers or the crap 2.1s I have.

Although it was weird getting used to it and I felt like peoples voices sounded different and I felt like I was talking weird...haha I don't really know how to explain it. I guess since the game sound comes in you try and talk over that and the normal xbox mic you don't since the game volume isn't going through the mic speaker. O well maybe you get used to that.

ANYTHING else. Why not just have a weekend playlist full of ridiculous gametypes? Needlers only on the Pit. Maybe a Halo 2 weekend playlist giving homage to some of the sweet gametypes in that game (Team Rifles, etc). How about another weekend of Fiesta or Flag?

There are so many opportunities and Bungie just seems to be resting on its laurels instead of providing us, the players, with anything remotely new (ie. Grifball, Infection).

Well in that example I meant that only one of the possible gametypes within the hopper itself would be Team Needlers. Why not throw in an all alien-type weapons gametype? Come on, after a year and a half of the game being released, Bungie HAS to have some ideas that they could implement past the 5 or 6 weekend playlists that circulate continuously.

I NEED VARIETY!

we haven't had rocket race in months and i dont play a lot of multi team but when i do and it comes up its vetoed.

i am down for some customs tonight
 
Yea, Eazy's BC remake is good stuff, only real problems are the narrow back of bases and no teleporter covers (makes it easy to go in to it accidentally while fighting someone). But, these have to do with the limitations of Forge and not his mind. :P
 
I'm gonna have to agree with backflip. So much could be done with the weekend playlists. I'm not saying that it's ridiculously easy to create 8 brand new playlists but would it be impossible to put together 1 or 2 new weekend hoppers? I don't think so.

It's strange to see a contest for Mythic codes that requires you to have the Mythic Maps.

There's no rule requiring Mythic Maps. Sure, that's the obvious choice, but with some imagination and creativity the contest is open to a wider audience. :lol

Also, there are other prizes beyond Mythic codes.

I think I've found some things to trim off to get enough budget to fix this.

Real Pros use 5.1 and know all the ambient occlusion bugs inside out. I can no-scope-no-look-shot anyone based solely on the positioning of the steam lift audio on my Pioneer Elite VSX paired with Mordaunt Shorts.

I was going to say you guys are real mean to juices, but then I remembered I've been away so long that my tolerance for him is probably at the highest it has ever been.

Nice. In December, I actually decided to buy myself a pair of headphones for the holidays. I eventually settled on the X1's, which aren't nearly as nice as the X4's (no wireless or surround sound). I still find them a big upgrade from TV speakers, and the price isn't bad either ($50).

I know, Eazy. I'd try and get into more of those games (and get kicked from fewer), but I am my timezone's bitch. Have yet to play a custom game on Sandbox as a result, though I did stroll around Rise a bit and was damn impressed.

+1 I had fierce Halo 2 flashbacks.

There might be reasons why I don't know about that it wouldn't be included but it is easily the most fun I have had on a forge map.

we were able to break the map in two places with simple grenade jumps - one provided extremely advantageous sniping locations - i will have a look at it in Forge tomorrow to see if i can suggest any alterations

Yeah, there are a few spots where I thought people may be able to get out if they were really trying. I don't really see this making its way into matchmaking so I let these things go in favor of making the map more authentic. In a custom match against relatively decent people I don't think it'd be much of a problem.

To be honest I think trying to submit this to atlas would be a waste of time because there is a ton of interlocking.

If you guys really think I should try I can do that. And NOKYARD, if you wouldn't mind. Point out exactly where you guys were able to break out just in case I missed something and I'll try to patch em. Thanks.

Dude, absolutely! Submit that to Atlas asap. "Beaver" is seriously the best forge-made map I've played on thus far. Its quality is FAR above any other map, made by the community, that has actually made it into matchmaking. There's no reason why this shouldn't be it in there right now.

The rules for submission don't say anything against interlocking, and it's explicitly mentioned in the "approved techniques" list. Shishka has previously rejected maps for ignoring playability, but from the games last night that doesn't apply to Beaver.

You'll need to run games with standard matchmaking gametypes to get the saved films, and to check that everything works properly. The current focus is on Team Objective, and you need three films. Based on the weights in the playlist, I'd recommend Multi Flag CTF, Multi Flag BR, and Neutral Assault. Can't hurt to have Team Slayer and Team BRs as well.

I think it's worth doing. If there's anything I can do to help, just let me know.

Hopefully Sandbox has dozens upon dozens of creations in Ranked MM and have a role in rotation in some Social Slayer or Social Skirmish DLC types. I mean, if Smashed can get in... srsly.

I wouldn't be surprised if Mage gets added into MLG.

Sure, there are maps that probably shouldn't have gotten into matchmaking before others, and arguably not at all, like Smashed and Octoplex, but there's also really good maps like Onslaught and to a degree, Amplified. Anyway, my point was if those maps can get into matchmaking, then Eazy's map should have no problem getting in there.

With Bungie saying they're planning on handling community made maps differently with Sandbox than they did with Foundry, I'm sure we're going to see a lot more Forge made maps implemented into matchmaking this time.
 
And the more I play, the harder it seems to get. :( I need some help!

I've come across a slight "bump" in building my new map. I have the red and blue bases done, along with some other parts of the map (I'd say I'm about 60-70% done with the geometry), but I don't know what to put in the middle. I'll post a picture of it later and see what you guys think.
