Dunno. I just remember, in my dream, that I logged on to GAF, looked up the thread, and it had the LOCK on it! Maybe this dream is trying to tell us to get rid of all this Bioshock talk...

Scratch that: it wasn't a dream.
IT WAS A NIGHTMARE

Guardian is soaking in atmosphere. A SP level in that environment would've been ace.

Eazy, would you kindly point me in the direction of a link to download that map? I really like the Ark in the center.
If your post didn't remind me of how 2k is milking Bioshock I would've posted a link.

I spotted a BattleCreek Remake over at ForgeHub... not bad, not bad at all. =)
Thanks for the link. I think you'll be happy with my BC remake.

I walked around the ForgeHub BC remake the other night and was not feeling the map. It felt very small compared to the original, especially inside the base.. Looking forward to Eazy's version.

Hate to say it, guys, but Killzone 2 is definitely the winner of whatever race it has with Halo 3.

It's even infiltrated its way into this thread's adspace.

/doesn't use Firefox.

Eazy, what else have you been editting on BC? Every time I sign on, you're always in Forge....

Jordan Thomas is the level designer behind Fort Frolic.
Even better, he's the level designer behind Shalebridge Cradle, which is possibly the scariest single level in a videogame ever. Not that I want to get involved, and not that I don't have huge doubts about Bioshock 2... but Jordan Thomas is the fucking man.

Yours looks better than that one IMO. I don't like how this guy handled the sniper ramps...
His is battlecreek, not beaver creek.

Aww. I haven't tried it yet but I was expecting it to be good based off the 5 star rating and positive impressions on Forgehub.

We've known for some time that Bungie is working on an entirely new intellectual property, and Murray noted that a development team is hard at work on that project. But that doesn't mean Bungie plans to close the book on Halo 3 after the ODST expansion ships this summer. According to Murray, the studio just finished a crunch -- a short period of intense production to meet a development milestone -- on ODST and another project, which he didn't name.

He could have been referring to the Mythic Map Pack, which was bundled with the Halo Wars Limited Edition in early March and will be distributed over Xbox Live on April 9. Or he could have been hinting that there's another expansion, multiplayer pack or surprise on the way.

"Halo 3 took two and a half years to make, and we're still working on it," Murray said. "We'll probably be working on it for two more years."

I hope he doesn't just mean MM changes. Would LOVE new content even after ODST, although I guess by that point it's all about TNBT™.

So they may be working on Halo 3 stuff for 2 more years eh? Hopefully that doesn't mean just playlists. :) Then again, just a few updates ago it was said that Halo 3 was the last piece of content they were releasing for Halo 3... so I'm confused.

yea, like in the beginning it was close, then it was like 32-19...then it ended 50-24. It just happened too quickly. I wish it were on a different map with a better connection, I wasn't full green bar all night. Damn, I just wanna scrim against those guys all day.

Ouch man. Thats gotta hurt. I played Ogre 1 and Man Train TS on Guardian last week, we came close to an upset too (even though I sucked hard). I guess 4 pro's is better than 2 :lol
Gotta watch out for the Incredibles.

My map, like Forgehub's, is limited to the crypts size. Because it's significantly less wide I've had to make the entire map a bit tighter; especially the are behind each base and quite a bit in the center. This has also enabled jumps that were not possible in Beaver Creek and may change the flow of the map a bit. That said, my map is much closer to BC than the forgehub one. I was surprised to see how inaccurate and sloppy the map that map is.

That's pretty cool and sad at the same time to read - would've been fun to experience that no doubt...

And Bungie got a new logo huh - I guess it was that time of year, they've had a change for around each new Halo I think...

I don't see the difference, the logo looks the same to me?

Tsavo Highway, a vehicle heavy level in the Halo 3 campaign, was also originally longer and was also chopped to meet production schedules.

From the article, -_-

Tsavo Highway was a real fun level, too.

Also hope "content" isn't simply putting user-maps in MM and updating the usual playlist stuff.

Was a redesign really necessary? It's cool and all, but the changes are pretty minute.

I thought Bungie had said ODST was the last bit of Halo they'd ever work on? If they're still adding to Halo 3 2 years down the line I guess we won't be seeing Halo 4 this gen (whoever makes it).

New on top, old on bottom.

Making progress on my current Sandbox map. Just having fun tinkering; landed on some ideas for the middle that work well. I suddenly liked the idea of the split wall being a garage of sorts for the Mongoose

And so I can collect three unrelated things in one post, everyone is required to see the trailer for Where the Wild Things Are, because it's so damn awesome: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=--N9klJXbjQ

I've worked on this way too long, but I've finally got it done: Neosho.

Right now only slayer, CTF and bomb variants work on it. I'm kinda crunched on budget issues to make the other ones work. I might be able to get some done though.

If you guys would like, you can go ahead and provide me with some feedback on it. I've playtested a few games on it, and so far they have all worked without a hitch. I still need a good video of an assault gametype before I post it in Atlas.

And since everyone has asked about the name.... Neosho is a word in the Osage language that means "clear water". The whole thing looks like a bridge in the sky, so the word clear water works well for it I would think.

Nice map. Reminds me of Narrows a bit, though
Yep, big purple dinosaur and everything.

Yeah, I got the narrows comment last time when I posted the WIP version of it. It really doesn't feel like narrows though from what I've played. Maybe that's just me though.

Seriously? There were 4 bunched together in the side base entrance. Learn H2 better noob.
There's a million better things I could remember than the placement of grenades on a 5 year old video game.

Thanks anyways.

Like posting on an internet forum about a 5 year old video game about the whereabouts of grenades?

I guess you didn't understand I was joking before. :lol

No, I knew you were joking. That's why I thanked you as opposed to turning up my nose and not replying.

Final-fucking-ly I have a playable version of Beaver Creek completed. There's plenty of differences that I'm fully aware of and I'd list right now if I wasn't so tired. So I'll just toss up a fileshare link for you guys. I'll try to get some pics up later. Hope you like it.

I also made a quick variant that, because I used the entire budget, has only the power weapons without the others or nades. Instead it has a blue and red orb which, IMO, makes the map have much more personality. I'll fileshare it and post a link just in case anyone else feels the same way about the lighting that I do.
