Final-fucking-ly I have a playable version of Beaver Creek completed. There's plenty of differences that I'm fully aware of and I'd list right now if I wasn't so tired. So I'll just toss up a fileshare link for you guys. I'll try to get some pics up later. Hope you like it.

I also made a quick variant that, because I used the entire budget, has only the power weapons without the others or nades. Instead it has a blue and red orb which, IMO, makes the map have much more personality. I'll fileshare it and post a link just in case anyone else feels the same way about the lighting that I do.

Just checked out your smelly beavers. Holy crap, dude! They are really cool. The inside of the bases is just genius. I like the version without the blue/red light bulbs too. It's not too dark to see and your Forgeskill gives it all the personality it needs. VERY IMPRESSIVE!!!

that's not considered a redesign, and I think tightening some kerning and scale was totally worth it.
things like this happen constantly to tighten up logos that most people don't ever notice.

Calling all Sandbox map makers! I want to enter the Mythic video contest HBO is having and I need your help. If you could find the kindness in your soul, I would love if you could put up a 5-10 second clip on your file share of you standing either in front of your custom made map or on top of some high point or right in the center, any position like that. You could jump up and down if you like, tea bag the floor, shoot your gun, spin in a circle if you like too. I would really appreciate it. To those who would like to help me out, just post on Gaf when the film is in your file share and I'll download it right away. Actually to make it easier, you could just send the film as soon as you make it to NYSTOFMIND23 over Xbox Live. Whatever is easiest for you guys. The video submission dead line is on the 30th so if I could get the films ASAP that'd be awesome. I'm looking forward to the submissions. Thanks everyone!
 
Net 2.0 design. Thinner fonts with more curvy lines.

I actually like the new Pepsi logo not as much as the 1976 one I believe, but its better than the 1985 one IMO. And all three of those are better than the extremely old ones that looked like Coca Colas logos.

I don't mind that Sierra Mist one but the new Mountain Dew one I dislike because the only lettering is Mtn Dew. I think its an abomination to shorten words like that. Dr. Pepper is fine though as its just a prefix to a name.

The Bungie one was I don't know. I guess its better. I'd rather have a new playlist though. Sigh.

It's strange to see a contest for Mythic codes that requires you to have the Mythic Maps.

Do you even know what 2.0 web design is, or are you just repeating what you think you've understood and read on GAF? I'd also say that shortening Mountain Dew to MTN DEW, is actually a way of narrowing your product's scope to it's target audience and might not be as big a misstep as you might think.

I'm pretty sure they're giving out other stuff too. Actually I never heard they were giving out Mythic codes because then I wouldn't have wanted to enter since I already have the maps.

I understand web 2.0 design and its concepts, uses, and benefits.

But I personally don't like the MTN DEW logo. What would this target audience be exactly? Are you suggesting MTN DEW is drank by people who don't have the time to read extra letters, so they have to spend the extra time saved processing the completion of the missing letters in their heads? Seriously?

Its rather a pretty old advertisement strategy. Where the person completes the image through a suggestive property. Like in an old magazine ad for Oreos there was no O but the cookie made the O so everyone knew what the product was. Just clever tricks.

Target - youth, web culture (2.0 right?), gamers, text message generation.
Its rather a pretty old advertisement strategy. Where the person completes the image through a suggestive property. Like in an old magazine ad for Oreos there was no O but the cookie made the O so everyone knew what the product was. Just clever tricks.

Ok, but the Mtn Dew new logo doesn't use the Net 2.0 style. So anything you just said is wrong and wouldn't apply. In fact the style doesn't change at all they just removed letters from Mountain.

Yes I spent time thinking of something quite common to understand WHY it works. This is pretty much the entire reasoning behind the Academia.

Seriously do not argue marketing and advertising with me.

I'll have to check this out when I get home for sure. My map is taking a lot of inspiration from Beaver Creek as well but is up in the air. [spolier]I'm considering the name AirStream at this point LOL[/spoiler] Not a remake by any means like yours but I definitely want to see how a Beaver Creek remake like yours plays.

@Butane123, your map looks cool too. Defenitely will have to give that a shot.
 
I just checked out the two versions of Eazy's Beaver Creek, very awesome. I like the 'sun' version better as lighting really makes the map looks better, the problem being is that you have to remove most weapons.

I would like to try it out some day, maybe tonight as Metroid proposed.. not sure.
