No it doesn't.

No, you just have a sick mind.

Wtf. How did you get "Sea of Man Juice" from "Sea of Dreams?"
Oh, Dax, you're so naive. I envy you.

But come on, some people want to argue that games are truly art and Bioshock 2 uses the subscript "Sea of Dreams?" That is the least creative title I have ever heard.

Man, all games should have stupidly over-descriptive subtitles.

Bioshock 2: City Underwater
Halo 3: Shooting Edition
Grand Theft Auto: Stealing Cars And Blowing Shit Up

That's not my point. My point is that "sea of dreams" is such an overused cliche that it's just not creative at all.

And besides, it seems that it isn't even being released under that name anymore so the argument is moot.

Also, Halo 3 is the shit.

Holy shit for the last time there's a process you have to follow.
Holy shit I know. I was participating in that process.

Fritzster updated his threads on ATLAS: Amplified, Regicide.

Isn't Amplified still in the MLG Playlist?
Yes, it is. This version is modified (weapons, objective regions) for Team Objective play.

Is your implication that, because it's in the MLG playlist, it can't be the basis of a map for Team Objective?

Tinkering on a new map. Basic idea is two close forts, seperated by a traversable alley (moat?). Just trying different stuff out but it's getting there.

It's my implication that I just recognized the name. ;)

Since when have subtitles been considered art?:lol Least creative title you've ever heard? Sure!

I think you should play the game first before you come to that conclusion.

I don't think anyone should be aboard the Bioshock 2 hype train just yet. We've yet to see anything substantial. Unless I missed some news.

- Able to travel outside to the seafloor.
- Jordan Thomas is the creative director.
- Fontaine Futuristics is a level.
- You can use your drill, but it will overheat and cannot be used constantly.
- You can make use of the Big Daddy's shoulder bash attack.
- You can take the Little Sisters around Rapture to collect Adam.
- You can harvest or adopt Little Sisters.
- If you adopt a Little Sister, she will stay and she can sit on your shoulders.
- The rivet gun will feature different types of ammunition
- The Big Sister is a grown up Little Sister, who will hunt the player.
- The Big Sister is very fast and uses telekinesis to throw objects and to use them as a shield.
- The Big Sister will appear from time to time after you killed a certain amount of Big Daddies.
- Tenenbaum is involved again
- Splicers are back.
- Upgrade trees are more diverse.
- Incinerate plasmid now supports throwing a fireball or shooting a firestream depending on your upgrades.
- Plasmids can be combined: A Cyclone trap can be turned into a flame trap with Incinerate.
- Weapons and plasmids can be used at the same time.
- You can repair turrets and bots.

And that is only what has been revealed so far. There is plenty to be hyped about.

You honestly don't believe that the title of any work ever created is part of the art? I don't want to call you stupid, but come the fuck on. "Sea of Dreams" is so cliche, so uncreative and so plain lame.

I'd rather have it called "Bioshock 2: Ocean of Solitude" than "Sea of Dreams" for Christ's sake.

And Splicers return? Looks like I'll be skipping this one.

*I apologize for hijacking the thread.

Um, Jordan Thomas. The core team of BioShock 2 came from 2K Boston – many of the artists, designers, programmers are from there.

Edit:

The name of the subtitles themselves? No.

You mad? Get over it.

You skip out on the awesome: fine with me.

promises waiting to be broken...but seriously, much of this hype is because you loved the first one soooo much. I don't know if it's still in your XBL bio (apparently I'm not cool enough for your friends list (I kid)) but you called it the greatest game of all time (lol) and you said Ken Levine is your hero blah blah blah and some stuff hating on the PS3. Be careful Dax, you're setting yourself up for a disappointment. I'm not a Bioshock hater, I bought the game, beat it in a few days and loved it. I tried a 2nd play through on hard and got bored halfway through. I enjoyed the game.

Also, this is not the same Irrational/2k Boston team we've seen win the hearts of little Dax's all over the world. Ken Levine is not heading this game up. I don't know who Jordan Thomas is.

Who knows? Maybe this will be the best game ever. I hope so. I'm not looking to shit on Bioshock or its sequel, I'm just trying to keep my expectations in check. And how do you know all of those awesome bullet points you listed are going to turn out a great as they sound on paper? You don't.

Halo 3

I'm kinda glad there were no titles for Halo 2 and 3. I thought about it for a little bit, and I think it woulda dampened some of the coolness of the game. I mean, come on. "Halo". It's just "Halo". Cool :)

Jordan Thomas is the level designer behind Fort Frolic.

That's what hype is, man. Things that are released about the game to get the people excited about it.

IGN said:
Fans of Halo 3's online multiplayer are familiar with the Guardian map, a thickly forested area consisting of multiple Forerunner platform structures. At a talk at the Game Developers Conference today, Bungie producer Allen Murray mentioned that Guardian was at one point an entire level in the Halo 3 campaign that was cut due to production time constraints.

As a multiplayer map, Guardian takes visual cues from Halo 2 maps like Lockout and Ascension and features man cannons and gravity lifts for maximum noob deaths. The single-player level also took place in a jungle setting and contained ancient Forerunner structures, but beyond that, we don't know much about what the lost Halo 3 level contained.

However, Murray did mention that the mission was home to a creature called, fittingly, the Guardian. A piece of concept art showed the Guardian as a deep green, angular machine-like object with a single glowing red eye at the top. It appeared to be a Forerunner construct and was reminiscent of an upside-down sword. According to Murray, you were able to fight the Guardian in the original level and could rip out its laser eye for use as a weapon.

These Guardian environments were once part of a campaign mission.

But the removal of Guardian wasn't the only change Bungie made to the Halo 3 campaign during the middle of the production process. The Cortana mission, which takes place inside the Covenant capital city of High Charity, was once two separate (and considerably shorter) missions. Tsavo Highway, a vehicle heavy level in the Halo 3 campaign, was also originally longer and was also chopped to meet production schedules.

Also, Master Chief was originally concieved as a small woodland creature. OK, we made that last bit up.

Production schedules...ugh...what might have been...

Groov is amazing in every sense of the word. Everyone in here needs to try that title now -- it's totally Geometry Wars done right.

Also, Halo. Cool guy.

Ugh indeed. Maybe this Guardian was the subject of the "bigger than a Grunt" comment in one of the old weekly updates.

And I would have liked a longer Tsavo Highway, shiz is really fun.

I assumed they had cut a forest level from the campaign, since all the MP maps referenced campaign locations except for Guardian. And there's a reference to a cut level with that setting in the Art of Halo 3 book. Cuts happen to every game, but it does make it painful hearing about those. Especially Tsavo, though that one is understandable since they have to create so much content and a lot of it you just drive past.

Do they allow video cameras into the presentation rooms at GDC? I would really like to see a video of Allen Murray's presentation, and other lectures for that matter.

Who made the post that got it locked?
Dunno. I just remember, in my dream, that I logged on to GAF, looked up the thread, and it had the LOCK on it! Maybe this dream is trying to tell us to get rid of all this Bioshock talk...

Scratch that: it wasn't a dream.
IT WAS A NIGHTMARE
