I love how we win all those games and you go up one rank. Then we tie and you go down again. Fun stuff! Anyway, you going to be on tonight? Need to get some play time in before Killzone 2 tomorrow.LunaticPuma said:I don't feel sorry for you at all. I had one semester in college where I had 5 7:30am classes. 5! I think I only overslept once that semester too.
Good games last night to the "have nots." I still don't know how I only went up one level. It's not like I've played that much on the playlist. Whatever, I really don't care though it was nice to go positive a few games in ranked.

You shoulda picked a cooler friend while you were going up that you knew would eventually make it to Bungie and give you Halo 3 multiplayer maps 6 years down the road.xxjuicesxx said:You kind of forget that theres other parts of GAF, parts of GAF that dont start with the initials TJ, parts that dont have little inside jokes about odd armors we love to use because we like to be different because we only get our text in between the 3 pages discussing the best cereals.
Multi Flag there would be fun. I don't know why it didn't load last night. But Avalanche was fun nonetheless.LunaticPuma said:I'll probably be on sometime tonight assuming I don't fall asleep on the couch. I also broke down and ordered a 50'' Kuro. It should arrive sometime next week.
I hope tonight we actually get to play multi-flag on Standoff.
Ramirez said:Gettin' some bad lag in the Mythic list, is the game out in the UK now?
xxjuicesxx said:It makes sense because I believe the actual pick of a spawn location only depends on distance and deaths and teammates and not the ACTUAL map. Meaning the spawn system has no idea what the actual map looks like. This shall be corrected eventually within spawn systems but right now I feel they are very rudimentary.
I actually have a lot of great ideas for spawn systems (Me and Deepblue had a long discussion about this in IRC, Notable point = he had a lot of awesome ideas too) and would love to be able to test them out. For all of these ideas I have basic rules and then secondary and tertiary rules to their applications but the main points to my system are listed below:
- A Choice spawn system - Similar to but not quite PDZ MP
- Invisible Territories - allowing the spawn system to recognize where and for how long each team has been on a map.
- LoS being factored into the spawn system. Who wants to be spawned inside of a grenade or inside the scope of a gun?
- A button that allows you to spawn and a leway of + - a small amount of time to choose WHEN to spawn.
Also I've always hated on Time Warner but recently I complained (it wasn't my first time I did, but this time I was much more blunt, I've been on Adelphia for years and now its Time Warner Roadrunner) but I explained I've been a customer for years. They are upgrading my line by almost 3x the speed for free and giving me a new cable modem. So fucking pumped. I'm hoping with that and with a brand new router I buy I will no longer have ~250ms of latency. So thats going to be great!
Finally thanks Tashi. The Inner GAF (Reminds me of C Lewis's Inner Ring) all received codes that's great that's super awesome and I'm sure you guys feel real warm on the insides. But you guys kinda left out a huge chunk of regulars here. The Others... me storm deepblue are sitting in IRC wanting the maps. Tashi, Bladed, Backflip the GAF MLG (lol) representatives. You kind of forget that theres other parts of GAF, parts of GAF that dont start with the initials TJ, parts that dont have little inside jokes about odd armors we love to use because we like to be different because we only get our text in between the 3 pages discussing the best cereals. Which is and forever will be Cinnamon Toast Crunch.
And he insulted me. A sad day. True, I went -2 that game, but he and his girl combined for a -20.LukeSmith said:Ugh, Bothari is so bad at the game. I refuse to play against him using my regular control scheme (BJ) because it's not even a challenge. Legacy Southpaw is how I roll against him.
Yeah... I dunno if we will have as good a night as we had last night ever again.Ramirez said:Gettin' some bad lag in the Mythic list, is the game out in the UK now?
Captain Blood said:The lag wasn't bad last night give or take a few games, but I was curious how lag would be affected by the increase in foreign gamers when HW drops.

Bungie should have small playlists you can subscribe to that only hold up to a population of like 500. That would be sweet.![]()
LukeSmith said:Juices, you're a jerk. Mostly you present reasonable ideas in unreasonable, e-rage-filled fashions that make it pretty easy to file you neatly under "Static and Noise." (Before you cry too hard about folks here getting codes from Bungie, I actually gave my personal codes - not from Bungie's Community bucket to Trasher and Ramirez, so they weren't part of Bungie's warm hug)
There will always be sour grapes when some Have and Some Have-Not, we get that and we wish we had mountains of codes to hand out.
But if we did, you're incessant malice probably would've kept you in the same place you are now. It's not necessarily what you say (your ideas are sometimes interesting), but how you say it.

Yes there are lots of great Halo community members here on GAF but there are also other Halo fans/communities out there outside of GAF that deserve and have gotten the codes as a gift. I know plenty of people who play Halo on a nightly basis, addicted to this game, and made their fair share contributions to the Halo community but do not have the maps. Are they complaining? No. Are they sad with envy? More than likely.
The difference between these guys and the Juices of the world is that they have enough self control to not come off like a blunt jerk when they weren't chosen to be given a gift ().which today retails for $80

Fixed. A ton of gaffers got codes. Many of whom, like myself never got the into the friends and family or the received any of the previous packs early, and there also people that got things previously but didn't this time around.cjelly said:I think people would just like to get the maps themselves.

If I knew map codes were handed out I would have guessed everyone who got one did. Because its a little inner GAF circle jerk. Always has been always will be.

Eh. There's plenty of criticism in this thread. Many of the critical voices now hold MMP codes. The difference between those folks and you is hostility. So basically, you are angry because we are also not (generaly) angry. What you need is a hug.xxjuicesxx said:This, just spread it around.

The layout is actually very simple, overly simple, boringly simple. It's unique and that's why there is initial confusion but after you realize it's just two long u bends with little to no crossovers you'll understand all there is to understand about the map.Dax01 said:It's sounds like Orbital is going to be confusing. Gotcha.Metroidvania said:What really matters, layout wise, is knowing which base you're spawning in, because each side has two different exits, which take you to either the lower or higher level, depending on which base you start at. Once you know which leads to which, it's not so bad.

sixthsubset said:I think the idea is that the only reason you are getting the maps is because a) you post on GAF and b) you suck up to Bungie employees.
There are thousands of players who deserve it more than any of you, who would appreciate it more, and who would do more with it. Mainly, people who play the game more than they post about it.
I think it's great for AR starts.Chernobyled said:Assembly looks like one of the greatest maps Bungie has ever made.
