You'd figure if there were so many possible paths for flag grabs your team would've scored more.
Flighted!
It was raining ARs and Beatdowns, my morale was low!

Project badass is still under construction.
Now my vision is to create two more smaller ships that man cannon on to the main ship.
Project Badass will of course start off as an infection map but i hope to create a slayer and ctf mode from it as well.[/QUOTE]
Dude that looks really cool. Pirate Halo!

you gave up to easily. we can still make it workRevengeance said:This inspired us to try to make Barnacle Bill's Prairie Dog Adventure, but there are only enough small ramps for 5 barnacles. The vision was awesome though. Picture the crypt, scattered with barnacles, and players spawned randomly in them. 200% gravity (or, enough gravity that a jump will only expose half of your body), SWAT rules.
Work on my own map, Cash Money progresses slowly. I think I need Remedial Forging 101.

Only worry at this point is I might go over the item limit. But thankfully I still have a ton of stuff waiting in the sky bubble courtesy of Mr Vociferous.

How are you going to get the items from the skybox down to the Crypt?
And, just saying, but I don't think an exact remake of Turf will make it a good map for Halo 3. Halo 3's gameplay is vastly different from Halo 2's, so you'll need to take that into account while you are designing the map.

Rockets don't have lock-on
No button glitches
The AR
The melee system
Banshee bomb
Two new grenade types
The alteration of the Needler and the spread of the Battlerifle
The slowdown of the sniper's rate of fire
The alterations to the Brute Shot
The removal of the Brute Plasma Rifle
The alterations made to the plasma pistol

An abundance of SMGs? What?

Grim Fandango, I would make sure to take into account the removal of the button glitches, changes to any of the weapons, equipment, the melee system, and the inclusion of the AR when making the map.
Though, the best thing to do would probably remake it as close as you can, see what still works and what doesn't, and remove or modify the stuff that doesn't.
Like, instead of having a Warthog, I think a Brute Chopper would be a better fit for Turf.
Stormtrooper30 said:I know that the differences between H2 and H3 are vast, but those changes do not take much effect on small maps. The addition of different anti-vehicle weapons and new vehicles will not effect a Turf remake.
It may make an Ascension remake difficult though.

Falagard said:Maybe, but then again although the rockets had lock-on removed, we now have the missile pod as its replacement. It's not exactly the same, but similar.
Turf is excellent for one bomb/one flag. If you've got a good enough hog driver, then you can risk an early cap/plant to try and win. But yes, slayer and swat were very fun on Turf.SWAT was usually best for Turf so I think it should be fine...
I definitely agree with you there, although I'd argue that it's more important to attain the design philosophy of those maps then try to replicate the experience identically. You're not just dealing with a game mechanic difference, moving from H2 to H3, but your palette in Forge is where the majority of compromises will be made. That said, I think Sandbox's palette is so massive that it would not surprise me to see a few remakes come pretty damn close in terms of geometric/spatial layout.Falagard said:So again, the whole "Halo 2 maps might not be fun in Halo 3" argument is silly, in my opinion.
Metroidvania said:Grimm, are you sure you're going to have enough room in the crypt for Turf? It looks to me like once all the roads are established, it'd be a little cramped.
