I'm assuming that the "can" in the first bolded part was supposed to be "can't," based on the line that comes after it. The more I read about this game, the more it sounds like a very simplified RTS. Resource management has historically always been a huge part of RTS games, except in cases where the game has had enough depth in its other areas to cover for it. Gaining/controlling resources requires that you expand your base, or hide your "gathering facilities" near resource points elsewhere on the map; so I suppose it makes sense that if Halo Wars doesn't have resources, then you won't be allowed to construct buildings anywhere other than your "home base" or other "base slots," where the designers want you to build. I can absolutely see how this could work fine for the campaign, since in RTS campaigns, you have varying objectives that will change as you complete them - rescuing people, defending bases for certain amounts of time, tracking down enemy camps. And they typically take place on linearly-constructed maps. But as far as multiplayer goes, I'm worried. I'll hold my tongue on the rest of my thoughts, since I guess I'll find out myself how well it works when the demo comes out (will the demo have MP/Campaign co-op?).
