Aye.
It was a joke post, Eazy.

MIMIC said:Halo: WRONG. Person B gets the kill.
I have two more that happened in the very same game:
SCENARIO 2: Person A is camping behind a corner. Person B, newly spawned, comes along and Person A tries to injure Person B with a grenade. The grenade completely misses and Person A remains unscathed. However, the sound of the grenade startles Person B and he falls off of the map, still unscathed.
What is the result?
SCENARIO 3: Person A has a hammer. Person A smashes Person B with the hammer, slightly harming him but nonetheless sends him flying off of the map. But just moments after the hammer comes crashing down, Person B throws a grenade that explodes under his own feet and increases his momentum even further. Meanwhile, Person C is firing the needler at Person B but only one needle manages to latch onto Person B.
Person B is one stray bullet away from death as he is hurdling off of the map. Finally, he dies at the bottom of the map. Who gets the kill?

It's not an issue of Bungie oweing any7body everything, technically once they release the game they don't owe anybody anything, so that's just a pointless argument to make.EazyB said:Judging by the amount of info we've gotten out of Bungie in the last few days, they don't really owe us anything. Not that they would had they been a no-show at TGS.

Well then the guy must have already reached the death barrier by the time Person C started shooting him. That makes sense to me, I've seen it with the grav. hammer on Guardian: knock the person off, get the kill.MIMIC said:My bad. I meant Person A.
Nope, I haven't played in 3 days ( mainly because I had the worst loosing streak ever played 22 games and lost 19 of them fucking quitters, betrayers, and the fact that I don't the like the playlist variants ( sorry but heavies isn't fun 10 games in a row) I want some 3 on 3 action on small maps quick games you know 25 kill max! Also Bungle please change foundry's default design please! I really don't want to quit this game at all 3 days is the longest I've went without it lol. I would love to play with some of you guys again, played with blue, numbers, and dani and some other gaffers a week or so ago and I had a fucking blast.TDG said:It's not an issue of Bungie oweing any7body everything, technically once they release the game they don't owe anybody anything, so that's just a pointless argument to make.
I'm seriously surprised that so many of you are so indifferent to the lack of new maps news. Am I seriously the only one who feels like the game is getting really stale?

And according to 1up, Bungie is the publisher and Microsoft, the developer, of Halo 3: Recon.
So as we begin to focus on new IP, and we have multiple projects spin up at once, [the idea of] meeting our fan desire for more Halo 3 content, and doing it with a team of incredibly grizzled veterans at Bungie, made perfect sense to us.

Bungie said:Will Halo 3 : Recon still use the Halo 3 engine?
Yes, this is very much an extension of the Halo 3 you have come to know and love complete with all the features included with the original game.
So it seems I am not the only one dissapointed, but it is good to know this expansion isn't anything ambitious. Bungie isn't reaching new heights with this one, just releasing an expansion pack like many other developers do, the funny thing is that this expansion pack is coming 2 years after release, not that many people will care about the campaign then. I will though, so bring it on.Bungie said:If this is an expansion built on top of the existing Halo 3 engine, why will it take two years to create?
Development of "Recon" actually just began in earnest this past Spring. This project is in the hands of a small team and represents our most ambitious release cycle yet as a Studio.

-Can't wait for H3:Recon. Hope its actually HARD, Halo campaigns tend to be cake. Deliciously moist cake, but cake nonetheless.
-That is all.
The aesthetic is going to be different, it is an urban environment. You can get a pretty solid idea of what youre going to be looking at from the trailer. But youll be seeing a lot of night and a lot of darker stuff.

Wow. Holy cow, that is exciting.1UP: Can you talk a bit about the production process? Bungie hasn't made small expansions before, so what was the production cycle like? Did the multiplayer downloadable content team just one day decide to take on the expansion?
LS: The content-ratio pipeline, in the wake of Halo 3, has been really focused on augmenting the multiplayer experience, and from that, a group of guys, who were originally working on [Halo] Chronicles -- that's been well discussed -- like Joe Staten, Paul Bertone, CJ Cowan -- these are those grizzled Bungie veterans, and they spun up on this project and very rapidly iterated through a preproduction phase. Actual game development and production started just a handful of months ago. The whole process has been very swift.
Indeed. But this is the only part that confused me:Cocopjojo said:Wow. Holy cow, that is exciting.
So how many maps are "allocated" to Mythic, and how many for Recon? Are the six listed in the Achievements all part of the Mythic set?1UP: Actually, to clarify: There's the Mythic Map Pack, and then there's the additional multiplayer content in Recon. Will there be another map pack in between Mythic and Recon?
BJ: I don't think there would be.
LS: We joke, but that's it.
BJ: But there're definitely maps allocated for Mythic and ones for Recon, so there's already been stuff allocated like that.
Hopefully they'll all be free and actually appearing in matchmaking by 2012!sixthsubset said:looks like we'll be getting lots of maps, yay yay
Alright, time to discuss our theories about what may be different playing as an ODST rather than as the MC.Is Halo 3 : Recon a 3rd person / squad based shooter?
Nope. "Recon" is definitely first person and it's definitely still a Halo game as you've come to know it. That said, playing as an ODST in this new setting will bring some new twists to the gameplay.
Wishful thinking!TDG said:Hopefully they'll all be free and actually appearing in matchmaking by 2012!
People thought that about Foundry. But in the end, the only usage of different map setups in Foundry is really MLG. I'm not counting Grifball, because I'm relating this to the competitive playlists.Dirtbag 504 said:How'd you come to this conclusion?
I think once sandbox releases with it's advanced forge features, we'll probably have many more then that.
Trasher said:Alright, time to discuss our theories about what may be different playing as an ODST rather than as the MC.
Things to keep in mind: no shields (will health finally return to the Halo trilogy?), less jumping height, weaker melee? (I can't imagine an ODST marine running up to a brute and attempting to slap him silly), can't use larger weapons? (a hammer would look hilarious in the hands of an ODST), can only carry one weapon?, faster/slower run speed?, can't throw grenades as far?, equipment use? (we actually never witness any of the marines use these items), etc., etc...
Anyways, tell me what you all think will change or will not change.
i hope the game is backwards compatible!TDG-san said:Hopefully they'll all be free and actually appearing in matchmaking by 2012!

I wonder if the idea from Halo 2 - early in development - of being able to shoot out lights and use night vision will come into play. It's set (initially at least) on Earth, and at least partly set at night, so I can see that being a viable option. That could be an element of "stealth" that fits neatly into Halo gameplay.electricpirate said:While the ODST character won't move more slowly, the game is obviously going to be paced more slowly.
Obviously Melee won't be as awesome, even if we can't melee to kill, I wonder if you will be able to melee to stun someone, and make an opening, or maybe have some kind of chokeout moves.
I'm hoping to see an expansion of the Deploaybles concept. Decoy Dummies, trip mines, and distraction tools might be fun.
I think you are correct, sir. Just as it was in the trailer, I believe light will be an important element to control in this game.GhaleonEB said:I wonder if the idea from Halo 2 - early in development - of being able to shoot out lights and use night vision will come into play. No. I'm quite sure I've had more fun in Coagulation, Waterworks, Headlong, Containment, Relic, and Terminal. Outside Containment, those are maps that built Halo 2's BTB and 6v6 scale.EazyB said:Couldn't be more wrong. Halo 2's BTB was decent at best whereas it plays like sex in Halo 3.

Standoff is wide open enough for FFA. But why Rat's Nest is in a playlist with teams smaller than six people, I will never know.CrazedArabMan said:What I don't get is Standoff and Rats Nest FFA, they make no sense to be in a FFA playlist.
Whose upset? If anyone should be it's you. You're stuck playing a game that not only has crappier small maps but also shittier large maps. I don't like to think of myself in these sorts of terrible circumstances. For I am having a blast with what I feel to be the best Halo has ever offered. I extend to you my deepest condolences.Striker said:No. I'm quite sure I've had more fun in Coagulation, Waterworks, Headlong, Containment, Relic, and Terminal. Halo 3's gems are Valhalla and Avalanche, and the rest of are big bag of meh.
You don't agree? Fantastic. No need to get upset because somebody else has a different opinion. -_-
