Out of the two games that I've played today, the lag has been almost unbearable. Now, I'm used to lag in infection and usually when I'm a human shoot a bit earlier than I normally would with the shotgun to take down a zombie. But the one DLC FFA game that I played was so unbearably laggy that I couldn't get a single kill. Needless to say, I quit out.

I should have known you would come in here with your wonderful sense of humor and sarcasm and add such a wonderful contribution to this lovely thread.

Expecting anything beyond posting horribly Photoshopped Flight Helmet .gifs or inconsequential posts from you is like expecting Team Snipers to be added in the next playlist update. I want to have a decent playlist discussion. But that's impossible with tripe like you jumping down people's throat, telling them to quit posting stuff about team snipers just because you don't like what they have to say.

This is true. A lack of moderation and a lack of concrete info has turned the thread into a Free-For-All where the guys in a clique with the most posts think they can boss everyone else around.
 
Is Gamevee Grab seemingly broken for anyone else? I submitted a clip like 4-5 days ago, and it still isn't up. I know there's been some Live downtime during that period, but there's been more than 48 hours of live uptime (probably closer to 72), and the clip still hasn't been grabbed.
 
We're also constantly talking about the problems this thread has but it never gets better. That's a shame because 4 months ago it wasn't a headache to read this thing. Sometimes I just avoid this thread because of all the negativity.
I'm sure that I'm not the only one.

I meant by game news as well as some people's expectations not being met, but you are right I shouldn't speak in such general terms. I'm happy with the game we have as well. Some new things to discuss wouldnt hurt either, it was just a general observation which looks like to be an overstatement.

It's been down since the 30th. No update on their blog. Sucks because I have 2 new vids I want to upload. :(
 
What's the highest individual playlist military rank that anyone has gotten so far?

My highest is like a Corporal grade 2 or something in social slayer. I've played like twice in the past two weeks. :/

I'm glad you realize it's annoying. The BR debate became tired but it took a while because there are many things we were able to discuss about it. It was a fundamental change to the entire Halo 3 gameplay with many consequences to take into account. The debates were enjoyable at first because it centered around how some thought Halo should play, how it plays now, and what was the fairest or most competitive method. We covered those fully and after the same arguements began to recycle we dropped it.

There is a big difference between the BR/AR debate and Team Snipers. There's almost nothing to fucking discuss about Team Snipers. Just like any playlist request it boils down to some people really wanting it and most other people being indifferent about it. What else is there to say? I'm going to make this clear; I want a dedicated Snipers playlist. Discussion over. Now if you really want to come in and say, "I want Snipers" and have that followed by 3-4 posts saying the exact same thing; fuck you.

It's a fucking videogame, we've developed a community here and with that comes its own memes and thread-specific shenanigans. Oh no, you're not.

To be honest, and I know this is hypocritical, but I think the real problem with this thread is the non-stop crusades against what the supposed problem is in the thread. I mean, Christ, JDFox comes in here every week or so to tell us all how immature we are and how we act this way or that way, but I can't remember the last time he actually set a good example by making a positive contribution to the thread.

In my opinion, anyone who wants to know how it's possible for a long-running thread with a big group of posters with a lot of differences to not become a cesspool should direct their attention to the Futbol/Football/Soccer thread on the OT forum. Those fellows are a tight-knit community. The thread goes on forever. They fight quite often. they go off-topic pretty often. Moderators don't go in there. HOWEVER, there's a fundamental difference between that thread and this one. Everything is controlled, people don't take things too far, and when they do, someone says "that's enough," and that's the end of things. AND, there aren't a bunch of people who whine about the state of the thread nonstop. It's quite beautiful, really. It reminds me of... this thread, in November.

I forgot to comment on this. I played a one-bomb round on Sand Tarp, and it kicked ass. (My team didn't, but that's another story.)

The bomb plant zone between the pillars worked out surprisingly well, since it's open to attack from all sides but gives just enough cover that defenders are not sitting ducks.

And most of all - there were Prowlers on the map. I and a ton of other guys have been begging for Prowlers on Sandtrap for ages, and Shishka put'em in. It was awesome.

It also led to me getting a triple-kill by ramming right through a Prowler in my Chopper, which is even more awesome. They're in the Avalanche Heavies variant as well. Just wanted to say - thanks, Shishka. Been wanting those in Matchmaking for ages. :D

BTS has a way too big percentage compared to the 27% chance of getting a flag and the measly 6% of neutral bomb happening. welps.

What I mean is, even if hte playlist was called gay dick parade I would still expect there to be a better distrubution of gametypes. I don't think I'm being unreasonable here because I believe Bungie did said Squad Battle was meant to about CTF and slayer....Although I will admit that they didn't say it would be a equal sharing.

Perhaps it is me being out of touch with the general Halo public cause they do enjoy their slayer. But in my opinion, objective rulz all.

Ok so the boxes need straightening out and so do the fence walls but theres no possible escapes or glitches to be done so I guess its in working state.

I call it The stoning. Its KoTH gametype where there are 4 rounds each team spawns inside the stockades twice. They have weakened weapons so its basically futile to kill the other team you just try and survive as long as possible.

The other team spawns on the outside and shoots the team in the hill through fence walls (I couldn't think of nething better that you can shoot through and not walk through) They have a slightly above normal damage 110% BR Infinite ammo.

Team with the most hill time at the end wins. Its best to go into a corner eliminating the angle of 2 of the shooters. Team communication will help in this gametype.

I was just reading through last week's update again, looking a the file share changes. juices' post reminded me of the best (announced) feature in the overhaul: the file sets. Those mean juices could share his map with the ideal game type he built to work on it, along with screens, in a single bundle. It's one of the (lots of otherwise terrible) suggestions I tossed at Bungie when they asked for feedback on the file share stuff at the end of last year. It's really going to help with sharing out related content like the maps we post in here.
 
The file sets are are going to be a blessing to some. I can't wait till they launch those features. I'll be on B.net all day tinkering with that stuff.

The advantage of Haloscreenshots is that there's no limit to the number of shots (and that it's easier to page through a particular person's collection).

You're right Wu, but since he appeared to be using Bungie.net to save his photos and perhaps upload them, I thought he might want an easier way of accessing screenshots and posting them on the forums in medium or large sizes.

Yeah, I'm loving it! :D I hope the update is posted up soon, otherwise I won't be able to see it until much later tonight.

Or something, I don't know how possible it would be but..an "online Forge" directly on Bungie.net, that gives you a simple map editor..top perspective..just let's you drag and drop icons/items..click upload..and there it is, your map is waiting the next time you play the game..so if I want to make a map variant that is just a bunch of boxes forming a square, inthe middel of the map.. it would be easy.. :p

Cool map by the way...
 
I dunno I just assumed I sucked at forging because I don't forge much. I'm sure once you get the controls down its easier to get stuff straight?

but yea a snap to feature would be SICK.

Maybe I don't quit understand the gametype but if the team in the hill doesn't really have anything better to do then to dodge bullets (which on paper does not sound fun), you're going to want to add another barrier to the parameter of the hill because they could double jump to get out.

I've been hoping that Bungie has been able to revamp the Forge system if not for all maps then at least for the new Sandbox map. I've already gone in depth on what I'd like to see added to make Sandbox an amazing map editor (especially if one can make outdoor levels) but I'm keeping my expectations low.

Realistically I'm hoping for a object pallet much bigger and varied than on Foundry. I don't think the controls will be changed (eg. snap to angles or easy scenery overlap) sadly. I do hope that the amount of resources (the money in forge) will be sufficient enough that players can create outstanding maps without the use of glitches; all in order to get some great

player-created content in MM.
