I haven't had any problems with XBL since that whole Christmas incident last year, oh my god was that ridiculous. Same shit better not happen again.JdFoX187 said:I think he's talking about how he's paying for a service that keeps dropping. If this is a prelude to the holiday season, God help us.

Let me say thanks for replying, but I have to comment on a few things you had said. The Snipers "clique" are not that different from MLG in attitude or posturing. "Everyone knows this is the only playlist that matters." "Everyone wants this playlist." "Bungie isn't putting this playlist into rotation because they don't like us." "If Bungie put this playlist into rotation, it would easily be the most popular playlist in Matchmaking."
Another niche gametype... Team SWAT is still currently in the rotation. I realize it also has dropped in terms of popularity since its debuted ranked in Halo 3. That happened the same way in Halo 2. Players like that gametype for a while, but not long. Why? It's not competitive like Team Slayer, Team Objectives, MLG, or Snipers. Why it dropped in popularity is simpy my opinion.I'm not opposed to Team Snipers as a full time playlist. However, I don't buy the standard arguments because I've seen them before. Dedicated playlists to niche gametypes seem like "foregone conclusions" to the people that play those niche gametypes because they play those niche gametypes.
Were you playing last night around 11 p.m. or so? The entire LIVE network shut down again and has apparently been fucking up all day today.Dax01 said:I haven't had any problems with XBL since that whole Christmas incident last year, oh my god was that ridiculous. Same shit better not happen again.
backflip10019 said:Ugh, this shit is fucking ridiculous. I pay fucking $50/year for the service and it drops out the one time in the week that I actually have time to play. Fucking Microsoft, fix your shit.
I was able to get on yesterday right after school let out (around 3PM EST) and wasn't having any problems.JdFoX187 said:Were you playing last night around 11 p.m. or so? The entire LIVE network shut down again and has apparently been fucking up all day today.

The fact that you weren't killed or boarded is more impressive than your kill count. (I looked the game up on B.net, and I must say, I'm rather surprised you only had 7 assists. I think you got robbed.)
KevinRo said:Make it harder to rank up. It's too easy to get a 50. All the more dedicated players have already achieved the rank of 50 and stopped playing matchmaking. I have all together stopped playing halo because their is no point anymore. The only time I play halo is on my friends account or something to help him rank up.

Harder to maintain? I don't know. It shouldn't, but mistakes happen, as well as problems like what's happening now.backflip10019 said:The way I see it, XBL is a service like many others - cell services, cable services, etc. Those don'tshut down at random intervals. Why should Xbox Live?normally

Pfft. You mean like with Halo: Combat Evolved? Just for fun, like the good ole' LANs of yesteryear? It would never work. ;-)Sai-kun said:Christ, don't you actually have fun playing or something?

I don't think there is anything left to discuss about team snipers. Take it to the b.net forums and campaign there for the love of God, obviously just posting it here has gotten you guys nowhere. Now we've seen Shiska acknowledge you guys, you've officially been heard. No sense in continuing to repeat it here.

Just throwing that out there.
My reasoning for adding Team Snipers is high popularity compared to majority of other playlists, it's competitive and deserves better than the casual Social Slayer and Double EXP experiences.I remember the last time everyone on GAF was demanding a playlist because it would be so great and popular and Bungie wasn't putting it in because they don't like us. That playlist, known as Ranked Big Team Battle, was retired with AU2's arrival. Possibly GAFers aren't as plugged in to what everyone wants as they think they are?

ALSO, I'm going to have a tough decision when XBL expires. I have nothing that I feel like playing online, and I'm tired of it being in a constant state of disarray from October-Febuary.

Yeah, but if the hours folllowing that downtime had spotty service, then their community would be throwing a much bigger fit than some Live subscribers are.Shishka said:WoW is a service with weekly upkeep-related downtime.

The confirmation of the hirings comes days before the Tokyo Game Show, where, according to the Microsoft rep, Halo house Bungie will be making a major announcement regarding the recently-released Halo teaser video.

I really don't see a true resemblance between the Sniper crowd on, especially those here on GAF, to the MLG crowd. The players in Snipers want to play a gametype for its dedicated playlist because it was highly populated in Halo 2. If you have the numbers from the day it debuted all the way through Halo 3 released, I would certainly love to see how its population compared to Team Slayer and other ranked playlists.
By me saying it would become the second most popular playlist isn't me being arrogant. I do not mean to make it come off that way. I honestly feel that way. Bungie wants a playlist that will bring in a lot of players. I rarely see those others bring in 10,000+ players, if at all.
