Relax.
I think he's talking about how he's paying for a service that keeps dropping. If this is a prelude to the holiday season, God help us.

I haven't had any problems with XBL since that whole Christmas incident last year, oh my god was that ridiculous. Same shit better not happen again.

The Snipers "clique" are not that different from MLG in attitude or posturing. "Everyone knows this is the only playlist that matters." "Everyone wants this playlist." "Bungie isn't putting this playlist into rotation because they don't like us." "If Bungie put this playlist into rotation, it would easily be the most popular playlist in Matchmaking."
Let me say thanks for replying, but I have to comment on a few things you had said.

I really don't see a true resemblance between the Sniper crowd on, especially those here on GAF, to the MLG crowd. The players in Snipers want to play a gametype for its dedicated playlist because it was highly populated in Halo 2. If you have the numbers from the day it debuted all the way through Halo 3 released, I would certainly love to see how its population compared to Team Slayer and other ranked playlists.

By me saying it would become the second most popular playlist isn't me being arrogant. I do not mean to make it come off that way. I honestly feel that way. Bungie wants a playlist that will bring in a lot of players. I rarely see those others bring in 10,000+ players, if at all.

I'm not opposed to Team Snipers as a full time playlist. However, I don't buy the standard arguments because I've seen them before. Dedicated playlists to niche gametypes seem like "foregone conclusions" to the people that play those niche gametypes because they play those niche gametypes.
Another niche gametype... Team SWAT is still currently in the rotation. I realize it also has dropped in terms of popularity since its debuted ranked in Halo 3. That happened the same way in Halo 2. Players like that gametype for a while, but not long. Why? It's not competitive like Team Slayer, Team Objectives, MLG, or Snipers. Why it dropped in popularity is simpy my opinion.

Were you playing last night around 11 p.m. or so? The entire LIVE network shut down again and has apparently been fucking up all day today.

don't know if it's old or not but congrats to Bungie on Halo being Number 1 on most played game on Xbox Live

Ugh, this shit is fucking ridiculous. I pay fucking $50/year for the service and it drops out the one time in the week that I actually have time to play. Fucking Microsoft, fix your shit.

Heh - I get pretty annoyed when I pay for service and it doesn't work sometimes... but remember that you're paying less than 14 cents a day for that service. Don't bitch TOO much. :D

Edit: centers? wtf

I was able to get on yesterday right after school let out (around 3PM EST) and wasn't having any problems.

Curious, I just turned on my console to see what was up, and I can't connect. What the fuck. It's sad Xbox Live "failed" when I tested my connection.

i actually just signed into live now when turning ma xbox on but it doesnt matter cause im gonna play halo 1 da original.

edit: what hash happened to cortana she has no boobs somebody patch this shit!!!

I said it earlier but everyone ignores me. :(

I am a big fan of flash lights in videogames. So let me tell you this, how about: The flashlight in Halo 1 OWNS the flashlight in Halo 3.

Awesome. :D

The fact that you weren't killed or boarded is more impressive than your kill count. (I looked the game up on B.net, and I must say, I'm rather surprised you only had 7 assists. I think you got robbed.)
There are definitely moments where I barely escaped. Whenever that happened I hightailed it outta there. :D

Make it harder to rank up. It's too easy to get a 50. All the more dedicated players have already achieved the rank of 50 and stopped playing matchmaking. I have all together stopped playing halo because their is no point anymore. The only time I play halo is on my friends account or something to help him rank up.

All I have to say is... wow.

And not just "wow" in the sense of unbelievable, but also go play World of Warcraft or any other grinding game, you'll have more fun.

Lol, I managed to make the banshee crash on Halo (Halo). It allowed me to flip it back up but not allow me to enter. I guess the term 'sandbox' was being thrown around back then, eh bungle?

Relax.

The way I see it, XBL is a service like many others - cell services, cable services, etc. Those don't
normally
shut down at random intervals. Why should Xbox Live?

Harder to maintain? I don't know. It shouldn't, but mistakes happen, as well as problems like what's happening now.

My cable service shuts down all the fucking time.

I hardly even call 'em any more unless it's out for more than a day - it's not worth the effort.

OTA, baby. Ditch that cable bill.

WoW is a service with weekly upkeep-related downtime.

Just throwing that out there.

Hence the spoiler tag in my post.

I guess get a new cable service? Mine always works. Anyway, the point is XBL should work and not fucking suck.

I remember the last time everyone on GAF was demanding a playlist because it would be so great and popular and Bungie wasn't putting it in because they don't like us. That playlist, known as Ranked Big Team Battle, was retired with AU2's arrival. Possibly GAFers aren't as plugged in to what everyone wants as they think they are?

ALSO, I'm going to have a tough decision when XBL expires. I have nothing that I feel like playing online, and I'm tired of it being in a constant state of disarray from October-Febuary.

I hope Bungie adds a team snipers playlist eventually, because I am so sick and fucking tired of reading you twerps posting the same tired arguments over and over and over. I don't think there is anything left to discuss about team snipers. Take it to the b.net forums and campaign there for the love of God, obviously just posting it here has gotten you guys nowhere. Now we've seen Shiska acknowledge you guys, you've officially been heard. No sense in continuing to repeat it here.
*salute*

Does Team Swat not give Playlist EXP? I seem to not be gaining XP in that list, despite winning. I was planning on building 7 XP in that list for the 7th to get the Vidmaster Challenge only to look and realize I'm not gaining XP in it.

Dammit, this sucks. I keep getting thrown out of the game and back to the lobby as soon as I get matched up.

Edit: One of them showed up on my played games list :/

Edit 2: Fuck. They are all showing up on my list. I hope I don't get banned :(

It's October, and that reminds me: shouldn't Halo: The Cole Protocol be out sometime soon, this month even? Didn't Contact Harvest come out late October last year?

Edit:
I wants me a new Haler book.

My reasoning for adding Team Snipers is high popularity compared to majority of other playlists, it's competitive and deserves better than the casual Social Slayer and Double EXP experiences.

Ranked Big Team died because of the disparity between ranks.

Who are you?

I'm Joey from NJ, 29 years of age and a Halo fan. What else would you like to know?

Yeah, but if the hours folllowing that downtime had spotty service, then their community would be throwing a much bigger fit than some Live subscribers are.

I was fine with WoW's planned server downtime, and I'd be fine if Live had to do it, too. In fact, I really didn't see too much complaining about the 29th. What is annoying is when the service comes "back up," but is constantly going back offline at random intervals.

I live in the woods. It's cable... or no TV. (Or family internet, for that matter)

Don't even THINK of suggesting satellite. Folks with it around here go dark in the winter.

I wish I COULD - unfortunately, cable's a monopoly; one company per market, as far as I know.

I agree with you - XBL shouldn't suck. But a couple of days' worth of suckage hardly seems like enough to warrant the pitchforks...

Read a book!

What I find amusing is that a lot of the people who want Snipers are the same people who loathe the idea of having BR starts. On the one hand, you say Snipers takes skill, and on the other you say BR starts turns the game into a vanilla affair. When in reality, BR starts take more skill as you all put it, and Snipers definitely turns the game into a vanilla experience...

Interesting!

care to explain this more

I hope Frankie is voicing the lead character in this new game. Every now and then he'll throw a short anecdote about Scotland and Haggis, which I bet is real tasty.

Haggis is disgusting. Scotland tastes like peat.

I think what people want to know about Team Snipes is why complete trash like Head 2 Head not only gets implemented, but is also completely reworked months later (then dropped, of course) before Team Snipers is made permanent. All this talk of niches and cliques and MLG... what the hell was Head 2 Head?

For the lazy:

The confirmation of the hirings comes days before the Tokyo Game Show, where, according to the Microsoft rep, Halo house Bungie will be making a major announcement regarding the recently-released Halo teaser video.

Cat's out of the bag.
