The Official Halo 3 Thread

If the SI project is revealed to be in the Halo universe then I will set aside Flight for the rest of my days.

Things aren't looking good so I figure if it's got to go, better to go out the only way Flight knows how to; in style. ;)
 
Really, the biggest problem with Construct is radar. I am a fierce opponent of radar in every gametype, but on most maps the radar doesn't interfere too much. Construct is just impossible.

I am honestly not trying to start any shit, I agree that construct plays better without radar. It sucks going up the lift to find a sword dude camping up there. It just doesn't seem impossible. I would say 90% of the time by using radar I am able to use one of the three lifts to get up top where someone up there without me knowing about it.
 
I hate the radar on that map cuz I constantly see red dots behind me but there's never anyone there. I just spin around the whole time like a freakin ballerina. God I'm terrible at this game!

But once you have identfied that that are not behind you. You can watch them and see which way they are going if they are coming up. Or if you are down low which way you need to go to get to the top to avoid them on the way up and to be able to attack them from a different direction. Don't be afraid to use the ramps that go up to the sword spawn or the long ramp that circles around the yellow lift to open purple.
 
I think I've mastered the radar since I'm pretty much staring at it the whole time. Playing MLG was really a new experience for me. I felt just as blind as everyone else :) Both are fun, though.
 
Wow, Eazy...just wow. Why does it only switch between avatars when I refresh the page? Or does it just cycle through them really slow?

Edit: Maps come to life when there is no radar.
 
i also rely heavily on radar so i dont really like mlg that much

but i have been getting into swat lately and i have to say getting shitty teammates suck
i have lost 4 out of the 5 today but i am +16 for the day

That is the reason I NEVER roll with randoms in ranked MM.

Construct is fun for MLG and Team Hardcore, but nothing else.

I don't see why there's two power drainers in the map, and no radar jammer. At least that would help the teams who spawn in the bottom when they're being beaten by camping players sitting near the lifts.

I have awesome tales of seeing some guy behind, doing some ninja action to try to reverse the situation and end up being killed by someone else, crouching, that didn't even appear on radar. =(

Is there a reason why the radar jammar wasn't placed on construct?

I have never liked the map, and unlike most, I never found the shield doors to be a major game breaking issue, so the changes aren't going to impress me much in regardess to it.

Epitaph is a great Team Doubles map and would make a fantastic Team Slayer map sans shield doors. If you want to talk miserable then let's talk Isolation or High Ground for Team Slayer.
 
Eww, I found out my brother changed my spartan to Hayabusa. =( I really need to go buy a working Halo 3 sometime soon, before the new maps come out. It won't match the rest of my Legendary Edition, but I'm not forking over more money than I need too, especially with Far Cry 2 and Gears 2 coming soon. Ebay, here I come.

CVG says "Confirms next game is tied to Master Chief universe" in the tagline, but says nothing about it in the story. Pretty sure they meant to put Halo, but you never know...
 
Just hopped on and played some Halo 3 games for the first time in a while for me. Every time I go without Halo for a while and then come back I'm always amazed at how small the POV is in Halo compared to other games.

Sans shield doors, there is no reason to hate Epitaph/Epilogue when abortions such as High Ground, Isolation, and Construct exist in Team Slayer. Epilogue deserves a chance in Team Slayer.

He wasn't responding to my messages either while the account was obviously active and searching for a variety of matches (including BTB which Ram isn't a huge fan of). I'm probably
hopefully
overreacting but if someone did hack his account it would probably be best if we know as soon as possible.
