Ranked games only suffered through a series of lag when they reset the host's history. Ranked BTB was not always lagging when the connections were not reset. Maybe for you -- depends who carried host, but it wasn't the case for me.

Speaking of host resets, This reminds me that the auto updates always reset the host stats. I'd expect a lot of laggy games when it comes out...

Should have swapped in 'hi'. It worked for me, and got people paranoid about conspiracy theories to boot!

That's a win-win right there.

I dunno if my posts carry the same mystique as yours do though.
There is no comparable "You're not Ghaleon" meme I share in.
People aren't convinced I work for bungie yet, like the rest of you guys.

Though my random friend requests are admittedly through the roof. Must be my cooler than most "me/gaf > internet" - street cred.

I digress

Someone say FOOTBALL?!

Why do some people demand certain weapons?

They scream and whine while shooting the person with said weapon until they die and/or they both get killed by an opponent. Like they are entitled to the weapon and if they don't get to use it when it first spawns then it's all over for them. I just don't get the point...

Come on, you know that kid is awesome with the sniper rifle.

I could make a montage of me killing those bastards. Some of my most amazing and creative kills have come from betraying team killers.

God.

16 kills, 14 weapon kills means 14 headshots with 10 assists +8 K/d and the scrub on the bottom goes -10. Will anybody here around level 45 who goes positive please play with me?

XBL: MetallicLlama

Hey, add me, asshole.

J/k, let's fucking mess bitches up

For those who haven't seen it yet there is a 3 hour PAX Documentary at http://nikon.bungie.org/news.html?item=23863 from a user at Bungie.net, I just started watching it, pretty good stuff so far. He gets a bunch of people from Bungie to do little introductions at the beginning :p

[edit] Yeah, first 30min are Halo, rest is some conferences... I just skipped :p

Decent maps, but needs more starting zombies.

Fun games, though, fellas.
That can be arranged.

We will probably go through some more settings kinda like we did yesterday, and hopefully get around what everyone wants.

Hehe, I hope we do more big customs like that, but damn those maps needed tweaking. :lol
It's funny how you were the only one in the party that thought so. =p

What kind of changes did you want to see made on the maps?

Blame the freak who rehosted it yesterday >:(

I think he was taking a shot at my frail bones, not your (completely understandable) lack of comprehensive knowledge of videos released in the Halo universe a billion years ago.

Oh.

Do the flood just respawn in chapter 8? Because this chapter is f#$king annoying. In some spots it seems to be easier to just run to the next checkpoint without firing.

Running in Cortana is highly encouraged.

Both in-game and elsewhere!

One of the quips I had with your infection maps was the one on Isolation, I would remove the turrets at the two bases. Give the zombies a bit of a chance, but give more ammo I would say.

No, you can eventually take them all down and move to the next area. They don't infinitely respawn.

But running is also a good option. The problem is that you'll often miss checkpoints and so when you die, you'll get sent back a ways.

Random - really random - observation of the day.

None of the four shirts Bungie was selling at PAX were Halo shirts - they were all Bungie ones. Last year, they were all Halo shirts. Two likely reasons: Bungie no longer owns the Halo IP. And now more than ever they want to be identified less by Halo than as Bungie - part of an effort to convert Halo fans to Bungie fans.

[/random thought]

I don't think the need to run is as bad in "Cortana" as it was in some of Halo 2's Flood levels. Although those needle-shooting dudes need to die.
Yea, definitely, those Halo 2 levels were definitely designed with masochists in mind.

Edit: Zomfgwtfbbq, I just used "definitely" twice in the same sentence.

New Halo game being made by Gearbox: confirmed by Ghaleon.

last year they were promoting a game and this year...luke smith?

This year they do not have the financial backing of a giant corporation. And they are working on new IP, for release eventually. They need Halo fans to carry over.

And they're shirts. I just thought it was a quasi-interesting observation. But I think that about a lot of my observations; reality usually begs to differ.

I'm pretty sure one of their Weekly Updates even spoke of converting Halo fans to Bungie fans, no? Or was it an interview? The phrase seems familiar somehow.

No, I wasn't the only one. :lol If you managed to miss Eazy's angry rant about the balancing of the maps, then you have a problem. :P

On maps like Pit Quarauntine, your variant worked really well because even though the humans found multiple enclosed areas where they could camp, there was always another sneaky entrance the zombies could find (or create; i.e. hitting the crates until they moved out of the way) to attack the humans. That kind of suspense was fun for the humans and gave the zombies a chance to sneak around an infinite ammo turret.

But on maps like Isolation Quarauntine, the humans can find an enclosed area where the only way for the zombies to come at them is to go from the front. Not only that, but the humans are equipped with Rockets, Snipe, SMG + Magnum ammo, and a crate all in that small base.

Yup, that's what I'm referencing. It was in an interview, IIRC Brian (Sketch) said it right after Bungie split from Microsoft.

Aha. You couldn't trick me into thinking you actually came up with that phrase! :lol
