So, six new maps? Or three MP maps and three SP maps?

I'm hoping for all MP, but 3/3 would be interesting!

Edit: All this interesting stuff is going to blow up in the next couple of weeks or so, and I'm going to be back at Uni with no 360 connection again, bah!

Apart from Eazy and Nutter's valiant attempt to Ruby-coat/Flight-enable all of the Spartan models at PAX to Elites, Dirtbag's clean shove of the condiment was the single most hilarious moment at PAX. Damn thing never had a prayer.

Holy shit, lotta things to think about.

I'm all for a MP only disc as long it simple acts as a Halo 3 disc with the campaign levels excluded. This would be a little weird as I think making the disc have only the MP achievements would make it act as a separate game but the SP achievements would but unattainable. The existing Halo 3 disc would also have to allow for any and all the MP achievements on the Mythic disc and what-not. Seems complicated.

I'd rather them just release a disc which would act like Halo 2's map disc, containing all the existing maps and AUs as well as a video or two, and putting it in the 360 would copy the data onto its HDD. This was great for LANs and makes everything more simple.

Also, here's to hopping any additional achievements don't result in more BS weekend playlists designed specifically around it. Making them ranked and social is a good start.
 
for me to buy another disc it's gonna need more than achievements. Plus, who with the older maps is gonna buy this disc? It's like paying for them twice. Am i right, or am i lost and missing something?

I would keep those hopes up IMO. This is probably what they wanted to tell us about at E3, and that's why I think we might see this sooner than later. They seem to have something big planned, and I believe it's gonna be given to us on the anniversary of Halo 3! (Please?)
 
Has anyone ever had the glitch where the overshield didn't work? It happened to me twice. :( And the spawn glitch (where I spawn in front of someone when the match begins) is happening to me more often, too :*(

Getting the new map pack and autoupdate will/should be the same and you will get achievements. The disc will be for those without live, and it'll probably have bonus video content like the other MP Map Pack disc.

If they are releasing it this month, I don't see why they are waiting so long to announce it. The Halo 2 MMP disc was announced almost 2 months in advance IIRC.

I don't recall having problems with the overshield, aside that for a few seconds, it gives you a temporary invincible boost if someone was shooting at you.

The spawn thing though, happens quite a bit if your team is practically all over the map, like Blackout.

Was it in a custom match? Custom overshields are broken - if you grab one with your shields not at full strength, then it doesn't do anything.

If it helps, the specific achievement I vaguely remember this user looking at had a lot of blue on the achievement picture and the achievement's name was "____ Drop".

They both were in social (one was Rumble Pit and the other was Social Slayer, IIRC).

I'll try to upload it to Gamevee...once I take the time to learn how to use it :)

You're good people. When I get a touch older, I'd love to join you on the porch bench and swat kids with a bamboo switch should they wander onto the lawn and talk about the old days. Maybe much some bagels, if we can ever find any. (This is an actual objective of mine.)

September is turning into a crazy time for Halo 3; AU2 and it's still-not-fully-revealed feature list, a major playlist overhaul, the reveal of a new map (release date: TBA). Tasty stuff.

Can anyone confirm if the September MM Update will bring along the Team Actionsack playlist or is that going to be added at a later date and was only mentioned now?

Hell, you could've said that all the Halo GAFers barfed in a crock-pot and I'd believe you...:lol I'm sure it's good though...
 
Anybody think that any of the new content is tied to the fact that this year is the 7 year anniversary of Halo's release? Just a thought...

Looking forward to seeing how this all shakes out.

So I'm just starting to jump back into Halo 3 again after a long (5 months) CoD4 hiatus. Once again, I'm finding it nearly impossible and infinitely frustrating trying to rank up in Big Team Battle. However, I'm not quite ready to jump back into Team Slayer, where my rank is currently 31 (definitely not playing at that level yet). I was doing some Lone Wolf last night and found it helpful to hone my abilities (taking someone out in Halo 3 is MUCH harder than CoD4).

I have some extremely noob questions. Is ranking in the top 3 of a Lone Wolf match essentially equal to "winning"? How do you rank up/get exp points from Lone Wolf?

Longshore, a wall looking texture that was teased at pax. Judging by what it says on that thing I'm thinking a harbor, possibly a harbor in New Mombasa that was hit by the Covenant and all the water evaporated.

Just looks like some random artwork by the Bungie artist that does random artwork. We've seen it before in a weekly update where they showcased some really bizarre art that clearly had nothing to do with Halo. This looks like that guy's work.
