I know what you know. Except, I'm sort of avoiding most of the details since I'm waiting for this stuff to be official before I get my hopes up. There's too much confusing information out there right now.

As for the grain of salt, I think the silence from Bungie says something. I'm not sure what it says... but it says something. I know with previous rumors Luke put them to rest fairly quickly. It also seems like Bungie briefly tried to cover this up. That also says something.

Don't forget that each playlist will have its own EXP after the update so you would only have to get it in 1 of the playlists, so just save one after the update if this is even true.

Of course, if you buy a retail copy of this "Halo 3 Mythic", it'll have the AU, new maps and achievements pre-loaded so no updating needed.

Microsoft is known for doing DLC + retail of the same piece of content, so I can't wait. But again, I'm keeping some of the hype that's in my glass jar down until it's officially announced.

I don't know about the rest of you but I'm satisfied with what information we do have.

I think I might not have phrased my answer properly. What I meant was this: sometimes, we get a hint about something and wrestling with the clues yields more data; we narrow down possibilities, or we work together to notice subtle aspects that lead us to more solid conclusions. In this case, though, we really don't know much of anything, besides what we've seen. There are multiple possibilities - and they're all equally feasible. The screens could be faked (Domino said he noticed the Achievement screens were different, but didn't really pay attention to how; what if someone else noticed that too, but had the same vague understanding of what they saw, and so made stuff up afterwards?), they could be real (in the sense that they were on the disc) but just sort of made up by Bungie guys as filler, they could be real, not filler, but not finished (so they put in a lot more than they planned to use at the end, with the intention of dumping the ones that didn't work so well before release), they could be EXACTLY what will be released at some point down the road, and on the disc totally by accident, or they could be a mindfuck by Bungie employees who figured SOMEONE would look.

In fact, I'm sure if I thought about it for ANOTHER 3 minutes, I could come up with half a dozen MORE explanations.

We don't have anywhere near enough info to eliminate ANY of these. So all I meant was, we've seen 'em, they're cool, some of them open pretty interesting doors if they're real and they're still there whenever these maps get released... but we're not going to get any closer to knowing any more about them than we do now by chewing on them.
