Oh God, I hate Epitaph. For me, it always ends in frustration, and I definitely know that I play worse on that map because of it My least favorite map, easily. The Lamonster said:anyway, why do I never get Construct and Epitaph when I play matchmaking? I never get to play those maps![]()

By less Covies, you mean more Covies.
Hell yeah, more power weapons would definitely make that map play better for 4v4 games. Perhaps there should be a couple fuel rod cannons, one by garage, the other at batteries; maybe an energy sword by broken wall; and a wraith!Nutter said:We have
-2 Snipers
-2 Shotguns
-1 laser
I think there should be Rockets on the map, maybe inside the base?
Crazy precentages are CRAZY.Nutter said:No.. Less covies is the right answer.
Needs to be
-Slayer (20%)
-Slayer Heavy (20%)
-CTF (20%)
-CTF Heavy (20%)
-Assualt (20%)
-Assualt Heavy (20%)
-VIP (10%)
-Neutral (Bomb, flag) (10%)
-Terratories (10%)
-Covies (10%)
The sword is not a bad, idea at all. It is a good counter for the shotgun.EazyB said:Hell yeah, more power weapons would definitely make that map play better for 4v4 games. I always go through stretches where some maps just won't show up, and some maps show up constantly. It's weird, but it probably ends up evening out.Revengeance said:Oh God, I hate Epitaph. If the majority - the vast majority - of players prefer CTF, then why aren't the playlists weighted overwhelming for that? With VIP and Terrible-tories getting one or two games out of every fifteen or twenty?
:lolThermite said:Bungie keeps them in there, and the amount of times they're likely to come up so high, for the lulz IMO.
I would yank BRs from all maps, and make every game Team Plasma Pistols (no grenades) on Snowbound.EazyB said::lol
I can see how controlling MM could lead to much lmaonade. If I ever got a hold of MM it would be non-stop lulz for me, heavy weighting for phantom needles on Epitaph in the MLG playlist would tide me over for life.
This might be one of those cases where anecdotal evidence is outweighed by data. I don't know if this is something Shishka/Bungie is willing to share, but I'm very interested to see what gets majority vetoed the most, and the least. I have a feeling that some of the answers to these questions are a simple data point.Cocopjojo said:All of those 10%s need to be, like, 2%, Nutter. That would fundamentally break matchmaking. It's sometimes tricky to get games going in the playlists with small populations as it is, and closing the party restrictions would make it almost impossible. That was one of the ongoing issues with RBTB. It's one of those areas where there is no ideal solution. But in my experience, half the time I'm on a team that's mostly made up of a party, and half the time I'm not. It works out.LunaticPuma said:So stop having your matchmaking system put a party of people against randoms. Perhaps you should also require everyone to have a mic when they enter a team playlist? How about disallowing private chats too?
I think we got your point. But here you're contradicting your previous paragraph. On the one hand, you hate being on a team of randoms placed against a team consisting of a party. On the other hand, here you are arguing that not everyone has a big friends list - which supports the notion that solo players should be able to find a game easily. It's exactly this balance that Bungie has to strike in matchmaking.Seems like everyone missed my point completely which is okay since it's all the regulars. Use some sense people... Not everyone has a friend's list that is brimming with people waiting to play with you in matchmaking. Deciding to play a few random games shouldn't be a pain because you're not part of party.
Map control is just as critical on The Pit as it is on Sandtrap. A team that uses the proper tactics to spread and control any map will do better than one that does not, regardless of the size of the map.My original point: Last Resort or Valhalla are more strategic and less skill oriented than some of the smaller maps due to their size.

Some people just do not know what is good and what is not. Apparently the only thing that people want is to blow shit up. (slayer) but what is funny is that in the rare occasional CTF and Bomb games that we end up playing, majority of the players are playing "slayer" rather than worrying about the flag or bomb. So its not as if they should worry that the "gametype" is not slayer, CTF on Valhalla is so damn awesome and its a shame we have it vetoed as frequently as it does due to some jerks.Chinner said:holy shit one flag on valhalla just got vetoed and now we're playing big team slayer on standoff.

I don't understand why they wouldn't release veto data. I think it would definitely help explain some of the more controversial decisions they've made and in turn relieve some of the frustration those players feel.GhaleonEB said:This might be one of those cases where anecdotal evidence is outweighed by data. Halo is such a win/lose game that if you're not winning then you accomplish nothing and this can lead to many a sadface and Halo to CoD converts.

I feel ya man. The only thing you can do is be a decent team-player and hope you can get randomly matched up with similar players. Send friend requests to those players and see if you can't establish a group. COD4 is nice to go in by yourself because winning and losing don't matter; everyone gets points regardless. You can just hop into a game midway, run around lone-wolf style and spray a few guys down and rank up. There's something to be said about that kind of laid back, casual-friendly experience.KiKaL said:This is why I stopped playing Halo. Most of my friends don't have 360's so my online play mostly consist of random mm. Halo random games suck and for the most part is why I stopped playing. Last night was the first time in a long time I join a group of people and played with them the rest of the night. That was by far the most fun I have ever had playing Halo. Actually playing as a team and communicating made a world of difference.
I don't know what it is but for me atleast it seems the Halo pug scene just sucks compared to anything I have played. I have no idea why but COD4 doesn't seem as bad. Last night made me see what Halo 3 multi can really be.
