Some questions regarding buying the game...

In general, are Circuit Cities accepting preorders? How about Cost Co.?

And can I still get a preorder at a Gamespot? How likely is it that a Gamespot around me will have a midnight release?

I know there's probably no solid answers, but I just wanted to put the questions out there to see if anybody knows anything.

No idea about CC or Costco.

There's a 99% chance that you can preorder at Gamestop. I'd say the chance that your Gamestop is having a midnight release is right around there too. If you want to check for sure, Gamestop.com should have a list of stores opening at Midnight. I'll find the link for you here in a sec.

you can also find the game at 7-11....I went into one today looking for the game and they were taking pre-orders, you pay now and can pick in up at midnight

Tomorrow is the 21st. Most, if not all retailers should have the game. I feel like going on a Halo 3 hunting bonanza.

You should double check to see if a 12:30 arrival would be worth your while (rhyme!). My GS is handing out numbers to people who've paid off the game at 9:00 PM, and at midnight that's what order they'll go in. I specifically asked whether they thought the "arriving a half hour past midnight" strategy would work, and they said that with 400+ preorders, it's gonna take a lot longer than a half hour to process everyone. You might want to double confirm.

Where do you live? I know some stores in NYC that will have it tomorrow and will be selling it, for sure. I'm getting SnakeXs his copy. They already called me today and told me it'll be in around 1pm.

I can't believe Gamecrazy still took my pre-order today! And for the collectors edition too!

And they're doing a midnight release.

I can wait 4 days. Not a big deal. I just got the Shivering Isles expansion so Oblivion will keep me busy.
 
Newegg is starting to annoy me. I know I can't get the game early, but my package is still at step three. I called asking if I'd receive it on the 25th, and the rep said "No, the 25th is the day we ship them out. Since you selected 1 day shipping you'll get it on the 26th"

I assume she just didn't know what she was talking about. Did anyone else place an order there and still have not received a shipping number or any updates to your order status?

i have not moved from step three either. no emails, updates, nothing.
 
well, the thing is one rep has told me it'd get the game on the 25th and another has said it would ship on the 25th. so i dunno i'll call again in the morning if my status hasn't changed and see what's up

Are they still in stock? If so I'm thinking about just trying again.

I talked to a rep over chat on Wednesday and asked to get my overnight shipping refunded. I don't know if thats what caused the problem or what. I just want to know for certain that I'll be getting the game on the 25th.
 
The new vidoc rocks.. the part with all the teleporters on Guardian was awesome and Forge baseball looks so much fun!

So Forge Baseball, you hit the rocket, then what? I'm not sure I actually get what the point of it is...do you play honor rules, one guy stands in the same spot, "pitches", then if you get a hit, you stand on a base or what?

Territories are the bases. Not sure how you record an out or anything. Maybe if a fielder jumps into a rocket, it's an out? Who knows. I'm sure it could end up working, though.

The fielders are all Monitors and catch the ball by running into it. Or by holding boxes up and trying to block it.

And if someone catches it they can switch to a spartan and try to tag the runners. With a rocket. You'd need a pitcher + 3 outfielders, perfect for 4v4.

Hmm, my avatars always turn out fuzzy, and yes I'm leeching from IGN, that fucking 20 bucks for Insider is what I justify it with. :|

Don't worry. I love you too and would throw you in the nearest motel and have my way with you, but Tieno made so that the head is the only thing emphasised which is what I wanted. But I'm going to save yours as well for future use. :)
